Xeodrifter6
Nov 6, 2015
This game is very small both in content and in vision. If you've played Mutant Mudds or Metroid or even both, then this game has absolutely nothing new for you. You verse the same boss over and over with slight upgrades which will make for slightly interesting battles, but other than that, there really isn't nothing in this game. Not even the artstyle holds up.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War8
Nov 6, 2015
Another game heavily focused on story telling, and it does its job well. The artstyle is beautiful, finding collectibles feels rewarding, the story itself is sad and memorable. Nice addition to have to your library.

Unmechanical: Extended Edition7
Nov 6, 2015
Intriguing puzzle game in 2.5D. It's not too challenging once you find out all the mechanics present in the game and how to use them to your advantage, and the game isn't too long either.

Transistor8
Nov 6, 2015
Very interesting game with very interesting aesthetics. It's fun as a strategy turn-based RPG and also fun as an action game. There isn't an overwhelming amount of content, which means you can complete the game relatively fast, but it's a fine experience while it lasts.
PlayStation 4

Tower of Guns5
Nov 6, 2015
Very small, boring game with not much going for it. It doesn't have a lot of content, variety, anything, really. If you want to shoot up things for a few minutes, then maybe you'll like this game, but if you want a better rogue-like first person shooter -- there is a better alternative, Ziggurat.
PlayStation 4

The Walking Dead: Season Two - A Telltale Games Series8
Nov 6, 2015
I didn't expect the second season to be anywhere near as good as the first, and guess what, it exceeded my expectations! The game's characters really are just as good, interesting and the story is very intriguing. The implementation of choice to affect your entire playthrough is very rewarding.

The Unfinished Swan7
Nov 6, 2015
Short unique platforming adventure game. It doesn't have a lot of depth, and it's really easy to 100% complete and delete off your hard drive. It's a fun short experience, but not a definite must buy or anything.

The Last of Us Remastered7
Nov 6, 2015
Great production values including graphics, sound design, story and characters. However, the game itself just feels boring. Every time it almost feels as if I was trying to grind my way to the next cutscene, and that's not a great feeling to have in a game, especially in a survival horror one. Maybe it's critically acclaimed, sure, but the game for me just didn't do nearly as much.
PlayStation 4

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth9
Nov 6, 2015
It's a very simple, addictive game which has a lot of content. If you've never played The Binding of Isaac before, then you are definitely missing out. This is a rogue-like game with a lot of features that will remind you of classics such as the first Legend of Zelda game, and it definitely works well in complimenting the game and its absurd plot.

Terraria9
Nov 6, 2015
I've played Terraria on the PC back when it first came out, and now that I gave it a second try on the PS4, I really didn't regret it. The controls are actually great. I didn't know what to expect from a 2D survival sandbox game on a console with a controller that doesn't even have a touchpad, but it really did surprise me with just how responsive it felt. There's heaps of content in this game. Trust me, after 100 hours of play time, you will likely still not find everything, and that's excluding all the building options you have open to you with a lot of customization. A very fun addition that will add a lot of hours to your gameplay.
PlayStation 4

Super Time Force8
Nov 6, 2015
Slightly steep learning curve and getting used to the controls, but once you do -- there's a lot of fun to be had. The game looks good with a fun aesthetic, the music is great and the controls, even though complicated, feel very responsive. It's a very fun to play game in short bursts.
PlayStation 4

Super Meat Boy8
Nov 6, 2015
Just as it was when it came out, Super Meat Boy is a great, fast paced platformer that makes you tear your eyes out with its challenging design. It has a distinct style and a lot of levels to play through. Just keep in mind that this game is old by now, and you will not find a lot of new in this at all.
PlayStation 4

Styx: Master of Shadows7
Nov 6, 2015
This is a stealth game than can be fun depending on how you enjoy approaching stealth games. If you love feeling weak and limited - this game is for you, as you do feel weak and limited. Fighting against your enemies upfront is next to impossible, and the level design is solely based around stealth. Fun? Sure, for a little while. Not for too long.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones7
Nov 6, 2015
It's a fun game, pretty much the same as Stealth Inc but with better graphics, slight improvements to the gameplay and new puzzles which are made around fast thinking. If you're into puzzles that make you panic, then this game is for you. Me, I enjoy much calmer approaches to puzzles which would make you think a lot better and deeper, so this game didn't have a lot for me.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
SteamWorld Dig8
Nov 6, 2015
Simple, fun Metroidvania style game -- and those are always great. The dig mechanics don't feel tacked on, and they're actually helpful. The fact that this game is procedurally generated and it still encourages you to speed-run the game, that means good design and game flow. Not a bad addition to your PS4.
PlayStation 4

Slender: The Arrival6
Nov 6, 2015
If you want to get creeped out -- this game does it well. It knows exactly what it is, and it's an ACTUALLY scary Slender game. One thing this game isn't very good at -- is being a game. You very often feel cheated by the game's broken mechanics (such as the proxy), and the story itself isn't at all deep or compelling at all. In order to truly capture the entire experience, you would need to collect all the collectibles at the beginning of every level before running through, but that's it. There really doesn't feel enough in this game to make you stay. This is not Outlast, this is Slender which wants to be Outlast.

Secret Ponchos6
Nov 6, 2015
It's fun for a very short while. there are nearly no players playing this game anymore, and since this game is online only, that only means one thing -- you will just not have the fun intended experience that you were meant to have, and in the end, this game wasn't huge anyways. You will not miss anything by not buying this game.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Rocket League8
Nov 6, 2015
It's a very fun little competitive game. Once you get to learn the mechanics, you can really turn this game into a complicated struggle against other players online. Anyone who's played this game can at least tell you it runs, plays, looks great. The rest comes down to whether this game is for you.
PlayStation 4

Rogue Legacy9
Nov 6, 2015
Very fun rogue-like game. If you like platforming RPG action titles, then you'll like this game. Unique and very challenging. Your exploring of the castle is really rewarding, and it's fun to see what's next. The one real thing that doesn't allow this game to become a masterpiece for me is the lack of variety in enemies and challenges, which is a shame, since they could have easily added more albeit through DLC or updates.
PlayStation 4

Resident Evil: Revelations 29
Nov 6, 2015
It's a great game. Fans asked to the return to old Resident Evil with modern controls and implemented mechanics from games such as Last of Us -- and there you have it, that's exactly what this game is. It's fun, the challenges are fun, the raid mode is fun. This game is all in all a fun time, with friends or without.

Race the Sun6
Nov 6, 2015
This is a phone **** the PS4. You're not going to remember this game very well, and you're not going to play it for too long. The game starts off very simple, but becomes slightly more complicated mechanically after you play for a little while, but there just isn't enough in this game to make you stay.
PlayStation 4

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare9
Nov 6, 2015
This game is surprisingly great! Smooth graphics, fun gameplay, responsive controls, lots of content, game modes and so on. You can play co-op, you can play versus multiplayer, and it's just a whole lot of fun. There's no reason to NOT try out this game. If you need a shooter to play and you are bored of your usual dude-bro titles, then this will be a fine pick for you.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Outlast: Whistleblower8
Nov 6, 2015
A better, much more unique game than the original. The Whistleblower is scarier, and has unexpected well-made ties to the original title. You will not regret spending money on this DLC.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Outlast8
Nov 6, 2015
Just like any other horror movie or game, Outlast is a play on conventions. You start as a clueless character and you, as the player, get scared by every single scare, but after learning more of the story and the game's mechanics, there's fun in exploring to be had in this game. The story isn't anything TOO special, but it's still interesting nonetheless. The game looks great, and the camera filter is ingenious. There is a certain lack of content, as the game is pretty short and you can find all the collectibles pretty fast on your first playthrough.

OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood8
Nov 6, 2015
Trust me, if you feel like there is a mass lack of skating games on the new consoles, then you're in luck, because this game will definitely fill you without disappointment. It's fast paced, very arcade-like. It looks great, the music is amazing, and it's just a whole lot of fun to play. There isn't too much variety, which is why this game is down 2 points for me, but it's definitely a whole lot of fun to play.
PlayStation 4

Never Alone7
Nov 6, 2015
Interesting game with an interesting setting and cultural influence. It looks aesthetically pleasing, and it's a story game driven by your 2D actions, much like Limbo. If you had fun with Limbo and you would like to see another game that approaches that formula, then this is for you. For me it just wasn't compelling enough for me to call this a recommendation to anybody else.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor9
Nov 6, 2015
Really fun game. Might be short on content, because it's a small world, don't expect the same amount of things to do as you would in, say, Witcher 3, but this game wasn't trying to be Witcher 3. It was trying to be Assassins Creed combined with Arkham combat and Lord of the Rings lore. If you enjoy playing those games and the Lord of the Rings story, then you will feel right at home with this game. It's really fun to exploit the uruks system, and it really is what makes the game. There is a lot of variety in the uruks, and they all have their unique personality and looks, adding hours to the gameplay. Overall the game is short, easily completed in around 3 days to 100%, and that is the one thing that sets this game back for me from being a masterpiece - I just would have loved to see more content.
PlayStation 4

Metro Redux8
Nov 6, 2015
Definitely fun to be had with these two games. Despite being linear shooters with set up paths, it has a lot of different ways you can finish it and side-things you can find. The achievement descriptions alone tell you just how differently you can finish the levels. You can pass through a level killing every single person in it, or you can stealthily walk through it without killing a single person at all. The game still looks great and holds up to modern titles, interesting setting with a lot of lore-based things to discover which better immerse you into the story.
PlayStation 4

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes7
Nov 6, 2015
I really don't like more and more games trying to make this "teaser game" formula work, anyway... This game is good - not great. You'll have fun exploring the same areas to find more secrets, and there's not much content at all. You'll be able to clear the entire game 100% with all the achievements in around 5-6 hours with little to no effort. It looks great, controls okay. Can get boring really fast.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Magicka 27
Nov 6, 2015
Very similar to the first Magicka, with a lot of enhanced mechanics. There's fun to be had with this game, and there's a lot of interesting designs to be seen in this game. It's fun to combine spells to see what they would create. There are 4 real outcomes to how you view this game -- first is never playing Magicka, and after trying two, you don't like the formula. Second is you've never played Magicka, and you loved it when you played the second one. Third outcome is you've played Magicka, and you're worn out meaning you will not enjoy this game, or the last outcome which is you want more Magicka after playing the first one, which probably means you will really enjoy this game. Since it's free on PS+ right now, I say there's no point for you to try it out anyway.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris7
Nov 6, 2015
It's a fun little game, not a must have. Responsive controls make it fun to run around causing havoc, and the game has a lot of multiplayer fun to be had with your friends online or offline, but the game isn't GREAT. It will bore you and make you feel like you want to play a real Tomb Raider game, instead.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition7
Nov 6, 2015
It's fun for those really into fighting games. For players not as invested into fighters, this becomes somewhat ****, with the classic Mortal Kombat steep learning curve for each character, and believe me when I say this game is somehow much more complicated than Mortal Kombat. The story mode is fun, the online is really hard considering all players got the hang of how to play, and nearly no newcomers play this game anymore. It's fun for a short while, but you will move onto other titles in your library soon enough.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
inFamous: First Light7
Nov 6, 2015
It's inFAMOUS Second Son with less content, and that's about it. If it floats your boat, then it's for you, if it bores you like it bores me after a short while of understanding how the game plays, then, well, bad luck. There isn't much to find in this game at all other than its gameplay, and its gameplay isn't anything of legends. It's just a neat little action game, and that's it. Not a must have.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Hotline Miami9
Nov 6, 2015
Definitely a very fun indie game to have and play. Obviously its quality warranted it a sequel. Many fun guns to try out, levels to run through, and once you get a hold of the mechanics, it's really fun. It makes you feel overpowered without making the game stupid easy, and that's a very notable achievement accomplished by this game.
PlayStation 4

Home (2012)7
Nov 6, 2015
This game is what it tried to be - it's an uneasy adventure with great atmosphere. This game really isn't a game in any sense of the word, you just find items, click on them, read their backstory, keep going. You find out bits of the story and by the end shape it all back together, and even though it's a short game, I just can't recommend it for its absurd price. This game is really boring and can be easily speedrun with all possible achievements unlocked in under 2 hours.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Grow Home7
Nov 6, 2015
It's a small game that's very unique and different from other open world games. It's very physics-based, and if you enjoy games built solely on that, you will have fun with this game. The game doesn't have a lot of content and it's short, but for what it is, it's pretty good and lasts long enough for you to remember it. Some issues are the controls can be very clunky and irresponsive sometimes, and the game is really slow overall. Also, believe it or not, this game stutters on the PS4 and you can see visible chunks of lost frames. Definitely not a must buy, but an interesting game to try nonetheless.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition9
Nov 6, 2015
Great art style, great sound work, great gameplay, great fun. If you've played Metroidvania games, you will know what to expect from this one, and it's fun when it comes down to playing it. The combat is responsive, and even when you feel overwhelmed it doesn't feel as if you can't complete it.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Goat Simulator7
Nov 6, 2015
If you are taking this game seriously, you need to rethink your life. It's a parody, meaning there is a lot of humor and spontaneous events you or anything around you can do. It's fun to explore the maps you are given and do a bunch of random stuff which makes no sense in the law of physics. Fun game to have, and I wouldn't entirely say it's a 'MUST have', but for what it is - it's pretty good.
PlayStation 4
Nov 6, 2015
Grand Theft Auto V7
Nov 6, 2015
I give this a lower-than-high score, because I simply don't see how it deserves a 10 in so many places. The game has a lot of content, looks great, characters are good, not great, and that's about all it's got going for it. If you know how GTA works, you'll enjoy this game. For me, it felt almost boring. This game has so much happening that it never really nails anything it's trying to do. Everything is playable, but nothing for me is all that fun. Driving, really, is the only part that kept me hooked in the game.
PlayStation 4

Futuridium EP6
Nov 6, 2015
It's an okay game, with a lot of just...better alternatives out there. Even on much older systems. This game has little variety, it's very challenging if you want to 100%, and even though sometimes you have no clue where you're about to shoot because there is no cursor, I still didn't feel as if the controls were clunky. Not a must-have in any sense of the word, but nice to keep at a low price or free (it's already passed on the PS+).
PlayStation 4

Fez7
Nov 6, 2015
The game definitely isn't bad, no. It's good. Its design, concept, music, atmosphere, simplistic story, secrets, everything is good. But I think the game doesn't really have the required mechanics to make me say that it's great. It's a decent game, good to have at a low price, but it's just **** same. Every area, the puzzles, the collecting, really doesn't get any different. There aren't really any big game-changers at all. If you like platformers or just unique indie games in general, then, jeez, go for it if you haven't yet. But if you're not - this definitely isn't a must-have on your list.
PlayStation 4

Escape Plan (2012)6
Nov 6, 2015
Very minimalistic, stylish puzzle game revolved around vegetable characters. It's not necessarily bad to have wood as your characters in your game as soon as you make the game itself interesting, and that really is up to the user. I, myself, didn't enjoy the game for too long as it simply got boring after a while. I can still, however, acknowledge that it's definitely not a bad game at all. it's good to pick up randomly sometimes and play through minute-long puzzle levels whenever you feel like it, and the game gives you that as an option as it knows it's made for short-term entertainment.

ETHER One3
Nov 6, 2015
You know great puzzle games like The Talos Principle, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and even hell, games like SOMA and Resident Evil and alike? All very different puzzle games and some not solely based on puzzle alone. Some just have puzzles as an additional feature to make the game more challenging and interesting. The one thing these games I've listed have in common is that no matter how different the puzzles in them are, they all make you think in the ways their designers intended you to think in. What can I say, the designers of the puzzles are actually geniuses. They have to really work out how they would hint and point you towards locations where you would be able to solve this puzzle. The Ether One is not one of those games with amazing puzzle designers. As a game solely based on puzzles and getting through a narrative, it really doesn't hit the edge on both ends. The game itself seems uninspired and bland, and the puzzles are severe disappointments. They are just not well-designed, and it would be much better if you could have a single clue what you were doing before you realized that you are actually doing something completely useless for the past hour. It happens. It's not great. It really feels like a huge waste of time, and if there's anything in your precious lives that you wouldn't want a game to waste -- it's your time. There is no experiences to be had here, people. Move along.

Dungeon Defenders II8
Nov 6, 2015
I don't judge games on their business models, I judge the game for the actual game, and as it is, this game is good -- and in this case, the more accurate wording is "promising". I never got pulled into the prequel, but this game really did reel me in. It's more accessible for beginners, and as you start - you just get going. People are playing this game, so you won't feel constantly alone, and the RPG/MMO mechanics really play out well in this game. I suggest supporting the game now, while it's in Early Access, so that you can get the bonuses with the lowest amount of money possible. Since I don't care much about skins for characters (as they have very little effect on the actual gameplay in the game), I wouldn't really get angry at their business model. It's a fun game to sit down and play, party up with your friends. There is no need being nit=picky (for me at least) about paying money for something unnecessary.

Dragon Fin Soup5
Nov 6, 2015
It's a very mixed bag for me. Since it came out free for PS+, I am slightly biased towards the game and yet I still can't entirely recommend it. I didn't know anything about the game until it was announced for PS+ and after that I looked it up, and it actually looked really cool! I mean, I'm really in need of good RPGs right now, and a rogue-like strategy-based challenging loot-heavy game really seemed to fill that spot. However, since it came out, I just...I don't know, I'm not seeing it. It feels almost uninspired, which is weird since this game is huge coming from such a small game developer. The characters don't seem all that interesting, the game just becomes a grind after the first hour and once you start dying because there is a random enemy placed in the first area leveled 20 levels above you because, why not? You begin getting bored of the game. Truly this game had great potential, but it's just not that fun ****. It's very neat trying out all the equipment, seeing what random loot you can find as you adventure, but other than that there really isn't much going for it.

Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition9
Nov 6, 2015
The user score for this game is higher than the critics, and for good reason. Goes to show how a fan-favorite can truly stay a fan-favorite despite what the media says. Devil May Cry 4 is a must play for any Platinum Games, Action games or Devil May Cry fan. If you never played this game before, then there's no reason for you not to try Devil May Cry 4 on the PS4. It has a much higher framerate, smoother visuals, few extra characters with their own abilities and skill trees and the same old over-the-top action and story. Does it feel any different? No. There are very few actual tweaks from the first game, and I think it's best that way. Hitting great combos really does feel satisfying, and with the absurd amount of content in the game including the almost impossible amount of trophies to obtain will keep this game an endless challenge to master.
PlayStation 4

CounterSpy7
Nov 6, 2015
Really simple, really short. Also once you understand how the game and the AI work, it's super easy to speed-run the game on any difficulty and get all trophies within a few hours. It's a neat little addition to your library, if you're into unique approaches at espionage shooting experiences. I wouldn't say that everybody needs to have or even try this game, but I would call this is a good game. If it had a lot more content and if it was fleshed out more, this could have been something much greater.

Broken Age8
Nov 6, 2015
If you don't like story-driven "walking simulators" such as Heavy Rain or Until Dawn, then this game isn't for you. I am very open minded when it comes to movie experiences in games, and I think Broken Age is a fine competitor, even though made on noticeably lower budget. It has interesting characters, an abstract fairy tale story with various interesting themes, and compelling puzzles. If you missed out on downloading this game for PS+, I still suggest trying it.

Battlefield 48
Nov 6, 2015
Trust me when I say you will not regret buying this game over Battlefield: Hardline. Sure, the initial tough feedback probably turned you off, but they've fixed most of the big game-breaking bugs since, and the game works great, just like Battlefield 3 did, with slight improvements here and there. If you like shooters to be a little slower than Call of Duty, then this is definitely a buy. Besides, it's dirt cheap in stores!
