The comedy comes fast and furious in early episodes, rarely taking a breather, and the comedic hit-to-miss ration favors the hits.

There’s promise in both the flexibility of the “Krapopolis” setup, which allows for a Springfield-like bench of supporting players, and the core cast assembled to carry it.

The characters in this show hit a great balance between being hilariously flawed and strangely relatable, even though most of them are gods or monsters. It's a great example of Harmon's maturity as a writer, leaning less on the ever-diminishing value of shock to develop more thoughtful stories.

Knowing Dan Harmon and his relationship with meta critics, I'm sure that the slow/blunt start was un purpose and with episode 4 it really shows. Don't lose hope... this will be a global phenomena!

The Flintstones with gore and raunch, plus a spot-the-mythological-reference game, Krapopolis is a pretty one-joke series: Look at what a random debacle ancient civilization was.

The writing on “Krapopolis” isn’t as sharp as some other Harmon properties, but it’s consistently entertaining. If there aren’t massive laughs, there’s a steady flow of chuckles, and sometimes, that’s all someone needs after a long Sunday.

Colorful palettes reminiscent of “Rick and Morty” and character design not far removed from other Fox animated titles are pleasant, if unremarkable. Jokes are delivered at a rapid clip with a low-to-medium hit rate. The humor itself is winkingly out-of-date.

Through the three episodes sent to critics, it looks bland and the stories it’s telling are bland and, most oddly of all, the thematic underpinnings of the series are bland.

Based on the three episodes made available to critics, Krapopolis doesn’t seem worth all this fuss. It lacks the wit, imagination, and emotional savvy of Harmon’s other series. And other than some inspired line readings by the voice cast, the show lives down to a lament by its main character, who at one point gets a muted reaction to a joke, and says, “I agree: it’s not laugh-out-loud funny.”

Not sure why so many people are hating on this show, I find it quite enjoyable honestly. If you enjoy Dan Harmon's other stuff, then I'm sure you'll enjoy this.

Dan Harmon's Newest Series for Network TV showcases some of the Humor of Greek Mythology and Modern, On the Nose Humor. Most of Dan Harmon's projects have a rough start because characters evolve and change based on real world and reactions to character dynamics. Not to mention Duncan Trussell is the man and so is Matt Berry. However it's too early to tell if this show will live up to Dan Harmon's standards from a fan prospective. Jokes Per Minute are lower than your normal Rick and Morty type thing, but at least it ain't Disenchantment.

Well, they did "hide" the quality level right there in the first part of the name, didn't they? Just because you read the name "Dan Harmon", who since involved with Rick & Morty seems to be able to sell his name as a supposed "seal of quality" instead of producing such actual quality. I guess one should be instead extra-critical when reading "Dan Harmon" in conjunction with anyhting these days. While the series tries to be the usual "Fox" level of zany, and while some "big names" are attached to the voice cast, none of the gags - even the ones in the trailer - show any breadth or depth of smart gags. And since most of them are going for the low-hanging effort fruits, why not wait until the fruit drops by itself, overripe, from the tree. Mindless one-liners, "witty" puns and all the greco-roman cliché you can think of happen. Another one for the annals of bad adult-oriented animation with big names slapped on - similar to "Solar Opposites" and other tries of the Rick & Morty gang to make something good after their one-hit wonder.

What even is this show? There's no humor what so ever. Just a show runner capitalizing off of his first show.

Wow. I expected so much more, but this just proves that Roiland was always the creative standout This is like a kids' show trying real hard to be for adults, mostly by shoehorning in violence and sex jokes (the tamest ones possible) This fades into the generic miasma of other carbon copy 'adult cartoons' of today People are just pretending to like it because Roiland went down the tubes and people are delusionally hoping against hope that they can still find their Rick and Morty magic somewhere else The characters are lifeless and boring, generic dialogue, generic voice actors, the show isn't saying anything important
