FINALLY a worthy Borderlands 2 Sequel! For this review, I'm going to ignore the bugs until necessary, as talk about the ones I encountered, but the issues can detrimental I played online with friends and the amount of lag and issues we had was crazy Two more, less impactful bugs I encountered were a bit annoying. A lot must be happening in the menu's because it lags like **** It's so annoying to navigate because of the lag, but that's an XB1 issue, I'm not sure how it compares to other systems. But I seriously don't like customizing my weapons because the amount of time it is to re-customize every weapon is too long Another one that has always been present is that enemies will sometimes glitch under the floor, not allowing you to progress. Anyway how's the game. Humour: It's funny, and not just a string of jokes like BLTPS was. This game brings back those weird and great characters that are funny from their existence. Working off other characters to great consistent enjoyable and funny dialogue. And it's actually used really well. One moment is a hard-hitting ****'s all ****'s so moody then 30 seconds later you're laughing about that same situation because it's been re-contextualized, or it's that same scene has been made fun off. Or that scene is poking fun at the storey events, you won't always laugh, but you'll always smile with this game. Also the number of self-references hit just right and is great, laughing at yourself so you can laugh with the players. Fixes: If you've played the other Borderlands games you'll know of the annoying things like not being able to access skills in vehicles. But this game fixes it. Generally, there's so much more, a PROPER sequel to Borderlands. You can customize weapons with skins (In-game currency don't worry) If you play FL4K or Zane you'll have some interesting skill choices to make (You can have two skills on Zane, and you choose between a pet on FL4K) Better hub and environments, and the gun manufacturers. Holy **** they fixed the guns. Assualt rifles are worth using now. Each manufacturer is so much more unique, their designs are more clearly designed, and the abilities of your guns have more variety, Every loot drop is more exciting than ever. The gameplay is great, music and environment and outstanding, the writing is on par from what you expect from a great Borderlands game (BL2 & TftB) there's so much new great things, amazing things, i haven't had so much fun playing Borderlands since 2012 with my first BL2 playthrough, if you're a Borderlands fan, pick this up. If you're not a Borderlands fan, keep this on your "to get" list. It's great, the only things bad about this game is the bugs, my experience has been mostly clean, but others has been awful, having their data wiped and you should definitely do a little research on the bugs of this game to make sure you don't get ****ed over The negative reviews are from bugs, bugs oh so bugs, they shouldn't be ignored, a game with bugs is just as bad as a game with bad gameplay, but you should know the score is only so low because of reviews with the bugs, it might honestly be worth checking up on the updates and waiting until this game gets patched.

An amazingly detailed pivot for gameplay - Not so much for its story The gameplay in this game is insane, Unpallered freedom and an unholy amount of choices and options to make when just walking into a base. However, the story is weird and feels incomplete any MGS fan will feel a Phantom Pain of their own and any non-MGS fan will be too confused by the refrences and inconsistency and general lack of plot to care, but that leaves the focus to the gameplay, the true purpose of this game

Vigor

Vigor at it's best is a survival shooter with tense moments of panic that leave you smiling after the fact. Or it can be a buggy mess where every moment is stressful and leaves you wishing you were playing something else. (Vigor is a FREE game in the XB1 store however this does not dissolve the criticism for it.) You're one of many survivors living out in an apocalyptic(?) Norway. The game does a good job of pulling you into that, mixing gameplay choices with design choices to make a convincing survival experience. Just from how your house is separated from the rest of the population is one cool choice, the maps pushing you away with nuclear radiation, losing all your loot on death, trading and donating to other survivors all pull you in. The gameplay: The gameplay is simplistically fun, although I doubt it's long term use. You join one of 6 current maps, then when you're in that map you are dropped randomly onto one of 8 points, in which your job is to scavenge materials to upgrade your base while 8-12 players also compete to do the same The maps are big, big enough to the point where I have gone multiple games in a row without ever encountering a single person. Which is kind of cool? I am a big fan of this battle-royale ensure games, especially ones that are slower and bigger. While I feel slightly annoyed I have yet to shoot anyone in 5 games I understand that's how the game can work, even if I am actively searching for someone. The shooting in this game is weird. And I don't mean just battlefield specific where they did it well. The shooting is an utter ass, but whether or not that's because the game is buggy as hell, or it's meant to be that way is unknown, although it feels intentional. It feels like one of those heavily realistic games, aiming in the first person and third is unreliable which can be really frustrating, As I've my crosshair over someone ten feet away and I miss all shots before they can turn and shoot me or just run-away. Which is another issue, spring is so fast and so inconsequential and the shooting so inaccurate and unreliable if you're being shot at, just run around you're guaranteed to get away and live. The only ways you can REALLY die in this game is either: - Getting snuck up on - Engaging in a firefight - Accidental Suicide - The nuclear wave (Which is like a battle royale safe zone. Just more dangerous as it will sweep across the map instead of creating a smaller zone from the outside in. You will likely never be killed from running away from someone unless you get trapped and they get lucky. This game is in beta and definitely needs to tweak it. It feels like never shooting and never taking guns with you can be the best option. As when you die in the "Outlands" (the multiplayer maps) whatever you had on, you lose it all unless you have insurance which is costly. But the bugs hold this game back, so many laggy and server connection issues, doors and cupboards not working properly, Gltiched moving really dampens this game, making it that more frustrating when you die to lag. Which has always been a thing in FPS games, but this makes it worse. You can also shoot in 1st/3rd person but not move in 1st person which is really disappointing for me, as I love to experience a large map in 1st person it is more immersive and exciting that way. Finally, it's free to play the game, so yes there are microtransactions although this is probably one of the best ways it's been handled. You can buy "Crowns" or you can generate them through a windmill on your little piece of Norway. The crowns never do anything besides cosmetics and upgrading the loot for everyone in the game. The only thing is the insurance, but no-one is paying real money for the insurance, it isn't worth the money since you can build weapons The game is fun in its state, but the bugs, building times, and hard to hit requirements for upgrading your house in it's mid to late levels made me play this game for hours for the first few days, but now I barely touch it. But there is hope this game will continue to grow and is definitely worth the try.

Destiny 2

Destiny 2 still fails to live up to the studios behind it. To preface: I've been a fan of Destiny ever since (2012?) where I saw the art for the Titan subclass, ever then I excitedly awaited the release of Destiny 1, and while Destiny 1 had its flaws, it's the first year was some of the most fun and memorable times I've had playing a video game. The same cannot be said for this game. While Destiny 2 has an actual story compared to Destiny 1 that had none. It still just falls back on an exciting and interesting first 30 mins then falls into mediocrity, as it relies on cliches, touches on interesting concepts and ideas that you'd expect from watching the trailers (At least the D1 trailers, D2 relies on the Call of Duty like way of storytelling.) but this game never is confident enough to go deep into interesting themes, and rarely likes to have our characters weak. And while this review is mainly for the base game, the Forsaken DLC story has the same issue, first 30 mins are amazing and emotional than just drop and die. That's kind of the issue with Destiny, it seems like so much more than it is. You want it to be a World of Warcraft like SCI-FI MMO, while it can deliver on the SCI-FI part, the MMO? Not so much. Destiny 2 (in its current state 9/3/2019 and it still was as boring during launch) is a weakly cobbled mess. There's little incentive to do anything anymore, you rarely need the best exotic gear to defeat a boss, just pick a loadout from this range of Subclass and a massive handful of weapons and you're ready to go! Which isn't really a bad thing, I actually enjoy not having to have one of two rocket launchers to let me raid with people (A feature of Destiny 1's DLC) But there's no incentive to do the raids, there's no incentive to anything really besides FASHION. As the gear you obtain will scale with you to the max, you don't need to beat the hardest challenges to become the strongest level. You just need to play enough. This game will hand you out items like Christmas, hiding away other more unique weapons behind long, (which is sometimes bad) and sometimes needlessly long quests. They vary in how pointless they are, with some being fun to do and others being a needlessly long slog, I'm all up for a challenge, just not intentionally wasting my time grinding a boring activity, which is what Destiny 2 becomes in the end. If you're new, you'll have plenty to do. It'll be fun, and cool and exploring Destiny 2's environments will be so cool and fun, getting exotics and legendaries will feel like a blast! Then you reach the max light and the game becomes a grind, there's no reason to keep playing besides fashion, any loot you want is too easily accessible (not saying it's EASY to get, it's just TOO for how hard it should be) The game incentivizes grinding through it's challenges and loot systems which is why I am writing this review, this is my fourth time I've been burnt out from this game. And won't be playing it again until Shadowkeep comes out, just for me to get bored of that as well.
