Quake II7

This is regarding SP only. Played it back in the day and my feelings then hold true today. It feels bland compared to 1, and I don't like the level design. I found myself backtracking often and multiple times I was confused as to where to go after wiping the levels of enemies. Was just a tad frustrating.

Really enjoyed it. Levels are fun and short, and there's lots of them. Movement is fast which I love. Had never played the first one so I'm glad I got to play through it.

Kind of surprised by how average this game was. One shooting gallery to the next gets old. Characters are likable though.

Great platformer, though the momentum based movement makes the game seem sloppy sometimes.

I forgot how awesome non-simulation racing games can be. And that soundtrack! There needs to be more games like this being made today.

Unexpectedly amazing remake. Platforming is fluid and controls well, the different guns are fun to use, the different planets are beautiful, and graphics/sounds/voice acting are all great.

Sound design and graphics: great. Boss fights and illusion mechanics are kind of cool but... fighting overall is too repetitive and boring, and even though the game is short it feels like most mechanics overstay their welcome.

Just played through this game for the first time since release. It brought back memories of when games were pure fun. The coin challenges are somewhat difficult on some maps but what a great nostalgia trip it was. Just as good as back in the day.

Cool concept but that's about all the game is. It's very very short. I beat it in just under 2 hrs... and yes I quit out and started the game again to continue after the first part. But they're selling this for $25? It's worth maybe $5-10.

Absolutely fantastic. Going back to this game so many years later has reaffirmed how good it actually is. Maps are great, weapons are fun. UT2004 is certainly one of the all-time best arena fps games that ever existed. Hopefully one day we see the resurgence of the afps genre again.

A classic action game with some platforming elements (which are very linear and kind of play themselves). The fighting is fun if not a little easy with the available upgrades. The characters are likable and the acting is good. I thought the ending worked with the story. It's a little bland, but I enjoyed my playthrough.

A beautiful experience. The atmosphere is amazing, but the unresponsive AI at times can be very frustrating. There were two times that I spent about 30 mins just trying to get Trico to do what I wanted. Besides those two times, the game flowed well and impressed me and you form a genuine connection with your companion. It is an emotional story that I absolutely loved.

What a ride. Kojima injected is weirdness in this one no doubt, but I absolutely loved it. The characters and acting was very well done. I can see why some people may not enjoy this style of gameplay but after the initial few hours when traversal is hardest, as you have little tools to use, this game started growing on me. It grew on me all the way until the end. It is wholly unique. I'm glad I took a chance on this game, because to me the gamble that Kojima took making this game was well worth it.

Extremely short main story. Long loading times, and lots of loading to be had. Game just isn't as imaginative and fun as LBP 1, which I loved.

I finally got around to playing and completing this game. First, a short list of cons: -resetting guns on horse/missions are annoying -somewhat clunky controls that you get used to but are never great -mission fail boundaries are too small sometimes -a nonsensical amount of enemies during chase sequences But besides that everything about this game is phenomenal. One of the most detailed and beautiful worlds I've seen. Music and ambient noise, great. Story, great. Voice acting, great. Very few times have I ever been so immersed in a game.

This game has definitely been overrated as a result of the recent Bethesda nonsense. It is a wholly average game once the novelty of it washes away. The world is quite beautiful but there isn't much to explore. The skills and perks are just okay. There are a lot of fetch quests. The gun play is fine but limited in choice as there is only 3 ammo types which means many of the guns you are using pull from the same ammo stock. The modding system is boring to use and you can forget its even there. One thing I did find pretty good was the writing, but it's too bad that most of the characters are uninteresting. You can persuade, lie, etc. and there's no real consequences to your actions. In short, it's an average RPG that doesn't live up to the Fallout of old.

Hadn't played this game on release, but after recently finishing it I understand its great reception. Great counter to the popular shooters at the time ideologically. Gameplay unfortunately is pretty generic though, being a simple cover shooter essentially. 7.5/10

I want to say first that there are very few games I will spend more than 30 hrs on nowadays. I spent 85 hrs in the main game plus the dlc's and really loved it. Most quests are interesting, have good dialogue, and have phenomenal character building. The abilities are enjoyable and interesting. Lot's of ways you can go with different skills and mutagens, etc. There are a couple cons that stick out though. Controlling Geralt, especially in action, is clunky. You get used to the timing of button presses and the rhythm comes quite easily after a bit of time, but it's still slow. Second, some of the quests certainly drag on a little too far. In the beginning of my playthrough I was doing every quest possible, but definitely tapered in my selections as I progressed through to the later part of the game.

The story and character development were great. Loved the ending. Stealth was fun and the crafting system was pretty cool though I don't think it added much to the game. Combat was a bit repetitive. Left Behind DLC - A short but great addition to the game.
