I’m not a big fan of Shonda Rhimes. I never finished Grey’s, Scandal or How to Get Away with Murder. This mini series made me cry.

So far the show has been underwhelming. I doubt I would watch episode 3 if not for Tolkein. I was expecting House of the Dragon to be bad due to the way GoT ended, but I was presently surprised. I was expecting Rings of Power to be excellent and have been disappointed so far. The first two episodes were slow, the CGI that everyone is raving about looks like a video game and there are plenty of shows with POC in lead roles for me to watch so there's nothing "special" here. Most of the characters with the exception of Durin and Elrond are boring so far. I like female-led shows, but so far I have zero interest in Galadriel and Elanor 'Nori' Brandyfoot -who have a lot of screen-time.

One of Us Is Lying has been described as John Hughes ‘Breakfast Club’ meets ‘Gossip Girl’; unfortunately it brings nothing new to the teen drama genre. The characters never stray away from their ‘Not Another Teen Movie’ stereotypes. The blonde actress’s facial expressions and line delivery is straight out of a daytime soap opera. Elite, dubbed in English - has more compelling characters than this show.

Keanu Reeves had four months to prepare for the Matrix. Finn Jones had a month to learn Kung Fu and Wushu and Tai Chi. The limited training shows. I feel sorry for the actor having to defend the producers decisions on his own. Most of the fight scenes have overhead or rear shots to allow for a stunt double. You never see a wide angle, un-cut fight scene showing Finns face in the frame. The fight scenes will get better when Iron Fist starts wearing a mask as this will allow for more stunt doubles OR when Finn Jones is given time to learn martial arts. Martial arts fans may prefer 'Into the Badlands' or 'Marco Polo'. [Update after episode 8] Fans of martial arts movies will like this episode. The fight scenes get better from here on. Finn's seem more comfortable practising Tai Chi too.
