The game is short but it is much more of a cooperative game than it takes two or split fiction, almost everything you do during the game requires an action from the other player. Controls are a bit janky and unresponsive but nothing that gets in the way of your gameplay. The story is good but could be more developed as some of the non main characters. The relationships don’t really get explained. Some characters you find anlong the way also seem to have some relation to other characters on your home base but none of this gets sorted out. Excellent art style. I love the anime art style although I am not really a big fan of any specific anime series. The piloting and space fighting sequences are good but could see a lot of improvement. Specially in regards to ship motion , it is not possible to move up a down for most of the game. A great first entry for a coop only game series.I would love to see a more fleshed out sequel. Had a lot of fun playing with my daughter This game would also really benefit from having achievements, could extend the playtime a little more since the whole game is so short (finished it under 5h)

This game is getting unfairly review bombed. It is as interactive as a telltale, supermassive or quantic dream game. It is a game with mild interaction for people who like this kind of games. And, considering that, it is an excellent game! Great writing, great art direction and a spot on feeling of what it meant to be a teenager in the 90s. If you want a bigger challenge, try getting all achievements. The critic reviews more than make it justice. Don’t let people who did not even play the game stop you from playing it, if that is you cup of tea
! I had an excellent time with it and recommend it to anyone who likes this kind of games.

South of Midnight8

South of Midnight is a breath of fresh air in an stale industry. The game setting and presentation is fantastic, it has great bosses, the story told is very good and the use of music of this game is one of the best I have ever seen. Overall it is a really good fun game to play. It took me around 20h do "platinum" it and it did not overstay its welcome. On the downside, the combat is not very good and coud be improved. The gameplay is a little repetitive since in most of the levels you do the same thing over and over again, but not to the point where it gets boring. I really hope this games goes well so that the studio would be able to tell another US Deep South Story with Hazel and the Catfish in it.

Avowed8

Avowed is an impressive debut in a new series with significant potential for growth, possibly reaching a 10/10 in its sequel. It evokes a blend of Skyrim and Fable, capturing the essence of **** of the standout features of this RPG is its streamlined design. The game prioritizes action, allowing players to dive straight into the experience without spending excessive time managing inventories or grappling with complex mechanics like alchemy and crafting. It embodies the pick-up-and-play quality of an action game while still offering a fulfilling RPG environment.I enjoy the companions, even though some critics argue they lack depth and don’t warrant much attention. Their dialogue includes some genuinely entertaining lines that add to the overall experience. While I haven’t fully grasped the story yet, it appears to be developing in an interesting direction, even if it isn’t particularly groundbreaking at this stage.Overall, this is a strong first iteration. If Obsidian maintains the game's simplicity while enhancing the availability of resources, refining the combat mechanics, and deepening the narrative, the sequel—should it come to fruition—could be an outstanding addition to the genre.
