I like AC1. It is a game that showed great promise. However in my opinion AC2 throws out of the window everything that made AC1 great. Replacements for those aspects are either ok or complete rubbish. For example the investigations and planning stages are out. Replaced by instantaneous gratification where Ezio can just rush and kill the target basically everytime. I know I'm late to the party sure but man... I just do not like AC2 as a game. I'm not having fun here. Mission structure is more strictly set in stone and game clearly is holding player's hand more. Often forcibly which I do not like one bit. I am not here to watch a freaking movie. I don't understand the praise this game is receiving. It is tonally deaf game where the characters and writing are some of the worst I've had to witness in a computer game. Especially facial animations make me feel disgust because they are like Crash Bandicoot cartoon expressions on realistic human faces. There are lots of jokes that feel inappropriate. Especially at very inappropriate moments. Historical facts are used not to support the story but a dressing for weak overall cringe narrative like when the milk-coffee is mentioned during Venice arc. The AC2 suffers from bad writing in-general. The people writing this game were unprofessional idiots who didn't stop to think even for a second the implications what they were doing. Characters are now from Looney-Tunes cartoons. Especially the Templars are villains acting evil for the sake of being evil. Most characters are also annoying and poorly voiced. This stuff was done in poor taste in 2009 and it sure is poor now. The timeskips and jumps make the plot difficult to follow. The game likes to change its own rules at times like suddenly introducing QTEs for conversations without a warning which might or might not have effect for the surface relationships of characters. Compared to Xbox 360 version this is a much better game on a PC. First of all it isn't as buggy but also it does not suffer from the performance issues. But it has UPlay or whatever it's called these days is still causing issues. Not to mention that the core gameplay loop is just crap no matter how well the technical side works. There are now more things to do but it's all meaningless.

This is a visual novel with average story writing... It has some simple action gameplay attached to it as well. Not inheritly a bad game but man, it needed some more fleshing out especially on mission side and shorter story cutscenes. Azur Lane characters have been rendered faithfully here with some new friends included. PC port is decent enough considering that this is a PS Vita game originally. Some performance hickups were there when I played this which really should've been optimised and bugfixed.

The story is actually great and most characters are interesting. Which is freshing change for me at least in most F2P games. Unfortunately everything else around it is just crap. As a player I spend maybe 90% of my time just clicking through menus inside menus inside menus and there is very little if any actual proper gameplay. Glorified spreadsheet simulator with some sex appeal and tons of PNGs you pay actual money for.

Has some of the greatest character designs among F2P games. PC version is serviceable and I'd give slightly higher score if some minor PC port things were better handled on keyboard and mouse side of things.

I feel that this is the best game from MiHoYo. It's fun, funky and splashy and has most if not all of the things I've critiqued their other games fixed. Where it fails is the overaching story and writing. All the individual side stories are great but I feel like I'm again just doing busybodywork for my friends and not making progress towards the greater goal. But I'd probably recommend this game for anyone interested.

I like this game but the way it treats player is honestly annoying. There is no skip conversations option. The puzzles are simple but it rudely constantly offers help to automatically solve them for you. Even automatically popping notifications sometimes causing you to accidentally trigger "tip screen" when it was wholly unsolicited. Stuff like this heavy handed streering from the developers robs fun of the discovering things on your own and feels extremely bad. It's even more annyoing when you're 500m away from story objective on a map without intention to trigger it yet and it triggers anyway as if people are too stupid to find it. The amount of story filler here is staggering and I spend honestly maybe 75% of my time just smashing space and mouse button to get through the conversations as fast as possible. Gameplay is solid however. The plot was interesting at first but some time after Inazuma it became just filler break that it sluggish to get through. Most of the characters are great. I like the visual style and graphics but would love to have 144 FPS or unlimited option. Sound and music are good. Keyboard and mouse controls are great.

I don't have really strong feelings about Forza as a game series and this is my first entry into it. The performance is excellent and controls are very responsive. I don't quite like the driving model here it's this weird half-simulation, half-arcade model. I'm more into driving games like Race'07 and Project Cars which try to model the physics more realistically. Even after adjusting the settings Forza Motorsport 4 never felt engaging enough for me since something is missing. But I'm not going to hold that against it. I'm generally having good time doing races. The game looks great, feels good to play which I think is probably the most important part and sounds excellent. Many of the tracks are good and interesting to drive which many, many cars this game has.

I'm not having good time with Fable 2 on Xbox 360. The performance of this game is very bad and given how basic it looks visually I'd be expecting at least much better framerate and responsiveness from controls. The idea for this game is pretty good but the execution is just all over the place. Lionhead should've spent more time honing the narrative structures, peformance and do more playtesting with the game. I was honestly quite bored the first few hours until it started to "click" more because the game forces this "narrative tutorial" on player that feels just bad. The morality choises are too obvious and quite honestly I was just missing Black & White morality system which gave gamer much more nuanced and sequential choises.

This is pretty much peak Xbox 360 still in 2026. The game is great and I doubt that Halo will ever be better than this. The game is good looking, it runs great, and controls are good and responsive. Music and sound are some of the best I've heard in Xbox 360 games I've played so far. The aspect that I didn't like in Halo 3 is probably the story. It's a direct sequel to Halo 2 but it picks up kind of a strange place. What then follows is this almost forced narrative structure to it which tries to constantly avoid the conclusion from happening. Until it suddenly happens and then there is this forced cliffhanger ending regarding to what Master Chief has to face next-time. Anyways it's a fun game.

The performance is just so bad that it makes me wonder how on earth they were able to even make the thing run on Xbox 360 in the first-place given the hardware constraints. They should've just lowered the draw distance, texture quality and everything to make it run more smoothly instead of attempting to hold graphical parity with other versions. If I had to guess the game runs barely at 20~25 FPS on average dipping to single digits at times. It makes driving especially feel bad. Controls tend to be unresponsive and "sticky".

I actually like this abomination ****. It looks good enough and has the gameplay loop correctly adjusted. I just wish there was people to play it with given that it's been intended to be a four player co-op game. This is where the Xbox 360 version suffers the most since it requires you to have Xbox Live Gold subscription or whatever it's called. It's possible to play it locally with bots without having the said subscription but then the gamer has to do everything alone. And the bots are kind of dumb enough that they do not offer much assistance. Technically the game is pretty good and it runs decently enough. Story and characters however are kind of bad but I like their costumes. Visual design and language gets most things correct about the Raccoon City. This game was developed by western devs and it shows at times. That's were things get kind of wrong too and they misunderstand a lot of the Resident Evil 2 narrative and then move to abuse it. Anyways probably fun co-op tactical shooter. I need to hunt down a copy of the game for a Windows-PC.

Based on single-player campaign probably my second most favourite Battlefield game out there. It has solid writing even if some side characters are bit forgettable. They borrowed the narrative structure from a game called "Black" well enough. However during the interrogation middle scenes the "good cop, bad cop" act is just bit unecessary aspect of the narrative. Xbox 360 version runs well enough to be enjoyable. Sound and music is great. The gameplay is smooth. Controls are responsive. The game is just incredible technological tour de force from Dice before things went wrong with the studio. Update: AC2 Xbox 360 release has a bug that can and will delete your save file and entire progress which was never patched by Ubisoft. Hence the score. Only thing you can do is restart the game. Review: I started playing Assassin’s Creed games again and since I skipped the second game originally, I continued straight to it after completing the first game on Xbox 360 for the first-time ever. I think I made a huge mistake. As a PC gamer I really dislike this game. It throws all the good stuff from the first game to rubbish bin and then doesn’t even run half as well as the first game did on Xbox 360. The story is **** nonsense and there are time jumps everywhere. The game changes its own rules randomly. But worst of all is that the controls feel really, really bad and inaccurate. If you point to some direction there is a 50% that Ezio will jump completely another direction. This makes climbing, jumping, running, etc. really ****. Sometimes the character just freezes to walls at crucial moments. Devs did address some aspects of the first game by making this have more variety in game loop ands there are more tools. But the story and narrative and more linear mission design make them useless. The game is at civil war against itself. It also looks worse. How do you make game that looks worse and still manages to run even worse? Audio is generally worse and music is forgettable. I’m not having fun time here.

Pretty good game idea albeit bit raw. Works decently as well in 2026. However the game loop is kind of shallow and repetitive: Enter city block, conquer tower climbing challenges, do investigations, help citizens and then commit the deed. And this loop is repeated throughout the campaign. This is why the game overstays its welcome and what should’ve been decent 8-10 hours is stretching towards +25 hours. The setting and story is interesting. Fighting mechanics feel forced but it works. But then the devs make really shortsighted decision to have the boss battle(s) be this silly fighting nonsense in what a perfect world should’ve been a stealth game with light RPG mechanics and investigator aspect. The lack of variety in gameplay loop means that devs have added silly side quests like “find the 100 flags” for all three separate factions of the story from the game world. It is jarring and meaningless busywork. Music and audio are top notch still. The game looks good even today. I just wish the keyboard and mouse controls were slightly better.

Sequel to Crysis 2 nobody asked for. Essentially it's just more Crysis 2 but done worse in large number of ways. It attempts to tell an extra story which expands the storyline in Crysis 2 and attempts to create this epic conclusion to the story of the whole Crysis series but it just fails it miserably and falls flat. Uninspiring and spiritless game. But it does look pretty and it runs smoothly and has almost no technical issues that I could point to. Music is even less rememberable than in Crysis 2. If you need something to shoot then get this at discount and it's good for 10 or so hours of decent corridor shooting in even smaller corridors than Crysis 2. Also the gameplay has been dumbed down again, more of the tools have been streamlined and now some of the abilities gamers had in Crysis 2 have been taken away. From the original five suit functions everything has been streamlined into just two. Gameplay is boring for the most part. Also there are now insane amount of animations and cutscenes which harm the gameplay. Not to mention that the story and writing is just plain bad. None of the characters make any logical decisions and they are not behaving like they used to in previous games in this series. I pretty much hated playing this but at least I did finally play it through. But it's a game and it works so if you don't care about anything except the shooting part then this works for you. You probably want this for game console but it runs well in a Windows-PC too.

Sequel to Crysis, Crysis 2 starts from completely random point in time and has seemingly no relation to any of the events of the Crysis 1. It doesn't even try to resolve the cliffhanger of Crysis 1's ending. Graphics are still great but not as good as in Crysis 1 presumably due to more optimised nature of the game. The game suffers from being dumped down with smaller levels, more loading times, less sharp textures, etc. There's still a sandbox but it's scope and scale have been brought so much down that instead of hundreds of ways to approach objectives, there are maybe ten or so. Levels are more focused on linear corridor shooting and it isn't really as much fun as Crysis 1. This is still an excellent game but it is a bad sequel to Crysis 1. Much of this can be attributed to the fact that Crysis 2 was also released for game consoles of its day. And it is a major technical achievement how they managed to get this game ported and running on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as well as Windows-PCs without major game content alterations. However it means that Crysis 2 is almost entirely different style game from Crysis 1. Music is less interesting than in Crysis 1. And I really didn't like some of the new tools and abilities which you're assumed to use and there is no way of avoiding them. Difficulty is much much more toned down and controlled. This just isn't as fun as Crysis 1 in terms of gameplay and engagement. Sorry. But it does look nice.

You can go either guns blazing or take more stealthy option. Crysis gives you a really big sandbox to play around and objectives can be approaches from usually hundreds of ways with multitude of tools and weapons at your exposal. This is all great but some of the technical issues hinder the experience. The game suffers from optimisation issues and runs fairly poorly even with modern hardware. Also the game can and will crash at times due various reasons. Mostly bugs which were never patched. Excellent game. Also the graphics look really good even in 2020. This is a Doom titled game which doesn't know who or what it wants to be. They took all the worst elements of the Doom 2016 and made those things have a bigger share of the gameplay and that way the game is less fun to play than 2016 was. There are also all these other things from other games now I didn't really sign-up for such as annoying 1st person Super Mario puzzle platforming. One of the core design innovations in original Doom games was taking out the arcade elements such as scoring and concept of lives. However Doom Eternal brings those things back and right into center of the gameplay loop. Most of it can be ignored but it's there and it does hinder the gameplay experience in my opinion. Technologically the game is amazing and it looks and sounds incredible. It works even on Linux fairly well despite no native binary being available. Visually Doom Eternal is beautiful but there is a large disconnect between the art styles of past Doom games and Eternal which causes me to become sad at times and just wanting to play the original Doom games instead of Eternal. Doom Eternal also doesn't take itself seriously enough to respect its heavy subject matter and that ruins the flow of the story it tries to tell. Some monsters have been designed to be a challenge but they are more of an annoyance and it ruins the flow of the combat somewhat when I have to start following a very specific gameplay style id Software wants to force upon me in Doom Eternal instead of me having fun and playing my way like it was possible in Doom 2016. There are some other things as well but this is the gist of my problems. It's a fun game but don't except to find a Doom game.

This game has some minor issues, but I'm in deeply love with it. It's almost exactly like the FPS games I fell in love with in 90s with every quirk that comes with them but in a really amazing scale. The final boss battle was probably the most disappointing thing but everything else was just glorious. If you like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior and such games, then this is your thing. Built using Build Engine it is a visual masterpiece which also sounds magnificent. Unfortunately I have to mention that the devs might or might not be SJW appeasers. A large part of this game's character is built around being "slightly immature" calling out holy cows of our time like the games used to do in 90s. I find that kind of nostalgic humour highly entertaining. It's essentially just banter and I wish the devs went even further with it than they did. But it seems that they lacked confidence in their own creation at least when it came to some jokes. I wish that they wouldn't censor the game like they said they would to quell the complains from small group of bullies. They also announced they'd cut some of the money they gained from sales of the game to send to these bullies which I found baffling (because it's clear extortion). I didn't take this into account in my score but I think people should know about it. It's sad that I even have to write about this political stuff because the game itself is very good and mostly apolitical.

The Reforged edition doesn't bring any substancial improvements on the table and in-fact downgrades the original game in numerous ways. For example it apparently uses Chromium Framework to render its main menu which is the cause of massive performance issues. Large number of animations and other content is missing. The number of bugs and other technical issues is staggering. Unit balance is all over the place. Almost none of the advertised features are included such as the reworked cutscenes. Not to mention that now you will not have any ownership over the custom maps you might create. Avoid like a plague until they fix this PoS. Annoying beginning with lots of exposition, after 10 or so hours once the game opens up and tutorials end it becomes rather good. UI is very annoying with lots of repeating back and forwards dives into menus. Story is quite interesting and the world is rather lovely. Visually great game. Music and other audio is fantastic. Acting is great except for Troy Baker whom blows by trying too hard. Material handed to actors was probably quite challenging. Mads Mikkelsen saves the game with his acting skills near the end. Combat mechanics are pretty barebones and rather awkward. Some of the characters are really annoying and there is very little natural interaction with them. Writing is not Kojima's best but still fairly good. The ending scenes were disappointing if not out-right boring due to length and cheap attempt to get emotional response from player. It's actually a problem in Death Stranding that it attempts so hard to get an emotional response from the player that it falls just flat in many ways and doesn't deliver the goods. Pacing is a problem in Death Stranding. Fighting MULEs and delivering packages and micromanaging resources was really fun. Fighting BTs not so much. Traversing terrain and coming up new routes is quite fun. Overall the game is just too easy even on hardest difficulty level. It has around 80 hours of unique game content which after that will recycle its missions and go forever. Getting new tools and utils and weapons to test different tactics was quite fun. I would have loved if there was more variety to those tools you use to travel the terrain and more diverse terrain scenarios. The game makes its own gameplay pointless by use of some of the more OP tools which strip some of the engagement out. Having social media network in a game to connect other players was quite fun until the magic of it wore off and I realised that it very well didn't have to be there since I don't see other players but rather see what they've built. Ugh, There is so much more I'd like to say but cannot but into words really. This is not a game for everyone. It's not focused on action but rather simulating post-apocalyptic Postman Pat. Which is interesting and entertaining but probably not what gamers primarily look forward to when the box says "A Hideo Kojima game".

The game is incomplete and not all the single-player content you pay for is even in the box. The game functions more like Call of Duty than Battlefield with focus on on-foot twitch-shooting rather than tactics and vehicles. That makes the game very shallow and not what I've looked forwards in a Battlefield game. Dice started trend towards CoD-like features in BF1 but this is where they went all in with it. I'm also pissed off that EA gave some people who paid for it a significant head start in multiplayer. Weapons are often too powerful and should be rebalanced. Maps design is not quite what I've come to expect and like in Battlefield games such as Bad Company 2 and infantry clearly has the advantage in BFV where as vehicles and planes suffer. Distances are quite small sometimes as a result. Furthermore historical revisionism in this game is just mind boggling. Especially when we consider that Dice and EA are marketing the game as "historically accurate" and "window to the unseen and untold stories of WW2". Had they actually done that it would have featured e.g. German, Finnish, Italian or Japanese perspective to the WW2 which could have been interesting. Instead we now see e.g. 15 year girl act as a replacement to a squad of Norwegian commandos, depiction of British soldiers who volunteered for SBS as lowly criminals and French army as highly incompetent and racist (through e.g. "bigotry of low expectations" and "not giving deserved recognition") towards their colonial volunteer infantry from West Africa. This all is just ridiculous and washes away the actual valuable contributions of e.g. women who worked as nurses and or at ammunition factories. From technical perspective this is the prettiest Battlefield game up to date. It sounds good (although I must add that voice acting in this game especially for Germans is quite bad and cartoonish) and runs mostly right apart from the continuing issues of DirectX 12 renderer. I'd like to see Vulkan API support in Frostbite engine and thus in future Battlefield games. There are some bugs but nothing in the scale of BF4 when that game launched. I wasn't able to test the RTX features. Technical mastery doesn't save poor gameplay, poor writing which pushes far-left talking points and identity politics, lack of content, bad PR with the community, and just the fact that this isn't very exciting Battlefield game. Despite promises to show something new and interesting BFV just doesn't do anything significantly different than previous Battlefield games. People are better off playing Battlefield 3, 4, 1 and/or Bad Company 2 which are mostly bug fixed and have more interesting content and gameplay options.

Blizzard keeps attempting various ideas which have been tried before decades ago and conclusively determined to be bad before discovering on their own an existing known best practise or design. The management is also quite bad. By the time you have 200 hours like I have you'll absolutely hate this game. This truly is a strategy game company's first attempt at making first-person shooter. They just do not "get it". One design idea Overwatch employs a lot is to make the each team responsible for their collective actions. Thus Overwatch is a game which doesn't care what ever you do in your team as an individual player. You could be the best guy to heal people, best guy to do frags, but ultimately that doesn't matter as you're not evaluated based on your individual performance. You get points by doing teamwork and the game only evaluates players how much and how well they do teamwork. Individuals aren't welcome. If one of the mates quits the game in your team, all players, including the opposing team, will have their points reduced. It's made to disincentive leaving during a match but it just makes not so fun game when you know you're forced to play a game you cannot win any longer and you've lost interest to. Overwatch also does player profiling where it attempts to place similarly playing individuals against each others. Do you play with people who often rage quit during a match or have done it yourself few times? Well, start expecting to see people who quit the match more often than not. Text chat a lot during game? Ok, you'll end up with people who chat a lot and don't concentrate on game. This is apparently a means to fight trolls. How about we throw 12 random individuals of various skill levels, nationalities, languages, experiences, etc. who don't know each other beforehand and don't communicate during a match? The result is just a disaster. This is a game for groups of friends not for individual players and you will constantly lose and lose and lose and lose until you find a group for yourself. Otherwise there is going to be always that one guy who doesn't get the pacing of the team and blames everyone for the problems of the team except himself or herself and doesn't concentrate on improving the team. Also the people who "main" certain characters a garage who need to quit Overwatch as they've not understood the game at all. Having just any group also won't do. It needs to be a group that has trust inside it and ability to know each character inside and out to be able to improve the group's collectivist skill cap and to support your team. That is an impossible equation. By the way the community in Overwatch is cancer and Blizzard is feeding them. Blizzard for example banned certain words from chat because according to the community "hurt feeling" of people which was just ridiculous. Technology in Overwatch also doesn't really work. I don't like the latency issues caused by data centre approach to servers. I'd prefer player controlled and owned servers. The loot box system is cancer and makes the game unfunny and unenjoyable since you cannot play the game to have skins and other costumes you want. Instead you'll receive random things and seeing constant boxes of duplicates is very very common. What little there is music, it's great. Most of the characters are decent but some are just throughout useless and hinder the lowest common determination combination possible which might win. Widowmaker in particular because most people are not good at shooting with sniper rifle in this game. And each time you see a person select Widowmaker you know your team is going to lose. Character balance is just bad in OW and the amount of characters make sure that it's impossible to reach a balance. Just don't. Don't get into Overwatch unless you have a group of friend who constantly keeps playing this game and you all think alike, drink same liquids, eat same food, live under same roof, etc. You will lose as an individual player regardless of your skill level and history in FPS games. And I know it isn't a real thing in most games but in Overwatch the ELO Hell is a real thing and it exists and once you get into sub 1500s in competitive mode there is no way out from there unless you have a group of friends to play the game with.

Disappointment of the decade. Awful lifeless characters, Awful level design, Awful story, Awful combat mechanics,.. But it looks graphically really good (if we forget that face and head design of the characters is very unnatural and inhumane) and it sounds fairly good. Gameplay in general seems OK but there's this constant feeling of something being wrong. The game is repetitive too without added challenge. This game really didn't need to be open world title. Open world stuff is just huge wasted potential in this game because it isn't properly being utilised. But oh god, the architecture of the city and graphics are so good.

This is one of the few cases I consider it to be OK to give 0/10. The game doesn't work. It originally didn't even start. When I got it to run, it run like **** It has major performance issues, major visual glitches, major audio glitches and major input issues. It also regularly crashes. This is more like early access type of thing, except that its the biggest AAA games of the year so far. These releases shouldn't be tolerated. On the other side, if it did work it probably would be one of the better Batman games. If the issues were fixed I'd probably give it something like 8 out of 10.

It's an OK game. It doesn't have much content and it doesn't have much replay value. But it looks cool, it works fine, it's satisfying and the PhysX physics engine is very cool. It has some bugs but nothing critical. I want to point out that there's absolutely nothing in Hatred that would warrant for its AO rating. This is M or T at best when compared to the other similarly violent games. There isn't much story in the game. But I found it interesting to ponder what kind of events have caused the Hatred guy's milk spill over so badly. It's fun for what its worth. But get it from the Steam sale or something.

Overall it's a good package. I'd really really want to recommend this to people but numerous small issues just bring quality of the release down. The core problem here is that they've standardised majority of the things and all the changes they've made, they've them with HDTVs and game consoles in mind. That causes issues in the Windows-PC release of the game. I'd recommend this package for people who have never played all the Doom games. The rest are probably better off with the 1993, 1994 and 2004 releases of the games in the package. I mean, they censored Doom 2 for example. Who in the right mind would do that? Not to mention that they've not fixed any of the major bugs in the Doom 3's BFG version compared to the original 2004 release. There's just zero reasons to own the BFG version instead of the original. Cost for the package seem ok. For 30€ player gets about 50~60 hours of single-player fun. That's pretty good. Additionally there's some extra single-player content too. Doom 2's "No Rest for the Living" is a good fun experience. And "The Lost Mission" for Doom 3 is ok even if it recycles lots of content from the main game.

A very beautiful side-scrolling shoot em' up which captures the spirit of the R-Type. The graphics are very beautifully drawn and very smooth. The music in this game is just phenomenally good. And the game is very responsive to controls. Most levels have been designed well and the game is really fun to play. Even for the veterans of the genre. However there are certain spots in some levels which require what I'd call "trained eye" to pass. It isn't a fundamental fault in the game but some people might think that it's a fault in the level design. There's a slight learning curve associated with the game. The game lacks proper integration with the Steam. There are no achievements, no Steam cards, and no support for SteamOS/Linux and/or OS X. Also the graphics settings menu uses slightly obscure English which makes it bit difficult to adjust the graphics to look as good as possible and requires bit of trial and error. There is also no global Steam scoreboard which means you cannot compete with your friends in ladders. All in all REDUX is a really fun shoot em' up. It doesn't offer anything new to the genre but rather plays it safe by making sure that all the basic fundamental things are executed as well as possible. If the developers had added proper Steam integration and ladders then it would be solid nine out of ten in my opinion.

I actually like this game. It's challenging but fair. And while it has some minor technical problems like the V-Sync has to be disabled. If you don't disable V-Sync certain things like e.g. loading screen breaks and will cause tick-tick-tick bug. You also should install community made patch 1.3 for wide screen resolution support. Visually Daikatana is probably one of the better looking Quake 2 engine based games out there. It's water colour style looks nice. The single-player has issues mainly in the writing but after a slow start the game really becomes a fast game that requires some actual skill. Level design varies from bad to fantastic but mostly is just better than average. Music and sound in Daikatana is pretty good but not exceptional. Music if fun to listen to and it's a very good mix of electro rock and classical music with some more heavy metal influences. Gameplay in Daikatana is fun but the sidekicks are tricky to control at times but don't in-general cause huge issues after you've learned how to work together with them. If you ignore the sidekicks the game becomes very hideous and it's going against the flow of the game. Daikatana as a game is not actually a one single FPS but four different smaller FPS games put together. It has astonishing amount of variety and content for a game of its time. It has four very different episodes, 64 different monsters, loads of funny gimmicky weapons, and fairly interesting theme.

Now that the game has been patched it's in my humble opinion mostly flawless experience that's aimed for the older Resident Evil audience. It's challenging but fair. It's visually appealing and has some of the most impressive texture art in my recent memory. That doesn't mean that the textures are from the sharpest end of the stick it's just that it seems that thanks to idTech5 almost all the textures contain unique features in them. Level design is very organic. Sound and music is ok but not very remarkable. Monster design is very good. Controls are fairly responsive after you active the 60 FPS mode. I didn't find the film black bars problematic but rather played the game without them. The idea is that there are effects based on taking in and out the black film bars on top and bottom part of the screen. Adjusting FOV allows you to see around. The game has few design flaws regarding the stealth elements. With ammunition very scarce that is the perfect recipe to some really challenging difficulty spikes inside the game. Plot has been written in such a way they player should play the game through at least twice to understand the plot in its entirely. It has lots of interesting details and stuff that recent games have not had. Overall it's a great game and very much something akin to a spiritual remake of Resident Evil 4. Additional note about Windows-PC version is that you might have to adjust the game through the console to make it work the way you want even with the patch that fixed many of the issues reviews here at Metacritic complain about.

Oct 12, 2014
FFXIII is ok game that tries to break certain traditional JRPG gameplay conventions but fails miserably. Reasons for that are so obvious that it makes you wonder if the game developers playtested the game at all before releasing it. As a person who had never played FFXIII or read reviews of it before it was released at Steam I was surprised to see how low the series has fallen. I'll try to keep this review short and I won't go into specifics of why most of the role-playing aspects of the game are flawed beyond any measure. FFXIII isn't an RPG game (although that's pretty subjective thing). The reason I say that is because the core design of the RPG elements is a broken mess. There are also broken features that should have been removed from the game before the release (such as the inventory management which is useless in a game such as this one). There also are no towns or any kind of hubs in this game (they were apparently redeemed useless feature and removed from the game). The director of FFXIII probably took drugs while doing this game because the camera always follows events in a such a way (esp. in action scenes) that player cannot track the scene and understand what's happening. And that's a bad thing because most of the time spent with the game is spent watching lengthy pre-rendered cutscenes filled with action player never gets to experience during the actual gameplay. The game is one lengthy tutorial of various things. FFXIII will keep constantly introducing player new stuff. The game also heavily underestimates intelligence of its own audience. When I broke five hour mark the game was still introducing new gameplay stuff to me in forms of new battle mechanics. Soon after it added simple level up system that's nothing more than glorified "use points to buy character development" but it's presented as a really complicated semi-linear 3D tree of things that makes it seem more complicated than what it in reality is. The level designers were obviously on drugs since everything is a linear path forward (well, mostly). But they're one of the better looking pipes ever. The writing of the game is horrible and the characters are mostly horrible personalities that player has trouble in relating to. Lightning especially. She's not this "mysterious older sister" who wants to protect her little sister. Character development portion of the game is just fail. I don't want to analyse it deeply here. Let me just say that I'm willing to bet that Lightning is the reason why FFXIII-2 and LR:FFXIII failed. You cannot build a game trilogy that uses such a personality lacking character as its keystone. The best things about the FFXIII are the visual design of the game and the sounds. Visual design is just marvellous although it lacks some central point where you'd aim your interest at. It's full of small details and things that make it really beautiful but it makes the big picture really difficult to see. Soundscape is interesting and well designed. Most of the music is nothing special but there's nothing particularly bad about it. However the Windows-PC port kind of ruins some of these aspects. It's based on Xbox 360 version which apparently had audio and visual issues. Things such as shadows are being drawn wrong or are missing entirely. Hair of the characters looks awful providing stark contrast to the cutscenes. Or some sounds being lower quality (to make it fit into DVD format Xbox 360 uses) than in PS3 version. All of those issues are present in Windows-PC version not to mention that the port introduces few issues on its own. Unlike what Square-Enix wrote about the game, it is not optimised for PCs. Usually PC games support multiple resolutions, FFXIII supports only one. That resolution being 720p. That's probably the worst issue with the port. Another issue is that keyboard and mouse cannot be fully binded to keys of your own choosing outside few limited keys. I didn't have issues with the size of the game. There are 25GBs of prerendered videos with the game. And since the game comes with the Japanese audio that size is doubled. English voice acting in FFXIII was better than usually in these games but the Japanese voice acting is so much better that I ended up playing with the Japanese audio and English subtitles. It felt more natural. Overall the FFXIII for Steam is fairly standard port of Xbox 360 game. It has all the standard faults and then some. But it's fully playable game that works and you will not encounter many bugs. It's a decently good port. I'm giving it neutral 6/10 because of the game itself and not because of the port. Overall I wouldn't probably recommend this unless player is keen Final Fantasy fan or interested in new Final Fantasy games. Average player probably doesn't have what it takes to sit through this game. This just isn't very good game and can be boring at times. However it's entertaining most of the time.

I am not usually in the "PC Master Race" wagon, screaming that a game is a game console port if it has been released also on other platforms at the same time. But F.E.A.R. 2 is the very definition of that and an epitome failure to make a decent sequel to good if not great Windows-PC game. Everything has been made more linear, less faster, more "larger", less controllable. There's NO ABILITY TO SAVE THE GAME AS YOU WISH, no quick saves, no manual saves, ONLY AUTOSAVES AT PREDETERMINED PLACES!!! If you die, you'll lose 5-15 minutes of play time and you need to replay certain spots. F.E.A.R. 2 has terrible FOV, mouse acceleration, you can't bind all mouse buttons to a functions, plain ugly HDR, and oh god the motion blur is so bad. Everything uses very large font and everything has been adjusted TV in mind. There's also ALMOST TOTAL LACK OF COOL PARTICLE EFFECTS, and worse map design, bad jumpscares that aren't even effective, it's really short game, maybe 6-7 hours long, and worst of it all, it looks, feels, sounds, and acts like it's a Playstation 2 title. AI has been dumbed down by a large factor... And allow me to highlight how dumb the map design is by noting that the game has SEVERAL DIFFERENT "SECRET" UNDREGROUND FACILITIES with ALL THE POSSIBLE VIDEO GAME CLICHÉS IMAGINABLE. Maps are also more linear pipes than they were in first F.E.A.R. game. I didn't even sink into everything what's wrong with this title. Just stay away from it. It's one of the worst FPS games ever made. F.E.A.R. 2 lacks self-image and instead is more like bad imitation of Halo 3 from every aspect. F.E.A.R. 2 has no taste at all, and people who call this a good game have no taste at all either. Or are too inexperienced FPS gamers to understand what's wrong with this title.

Excellent game with good graphics, good sound, better than average gameplay which has few tricks to it, and Killzone's multiplayer mode(s) from the previous titles in the series. Ability to approach certain situations differently gives the game some replayability but at the same time the plot of the game is bit disconnected from the rest of the series even for the fans of the Killzone series. Some moments in single-player campaign can be frustrating if you've never played a Killzone game before. Map design is little bit like in Crysis 2 where you have 2-3 ways to approach things. However most of the time it turns into just basic corridor shooting. AI opponents do their job well. Overall a good launch title.

I've played this game for two days now and I'm taken liking of this game. If we forget that this game was greatly inspired by Half-Life 2, Doom 3, and maybe also Bioshock, with a heart ripped off from Halo and Call of Duty.... this is a damn fun game from veteran developers at Raven Software. More accurate description of this game would be that it's a Call of Duty but set into the Doom universe, with Half-Life 2 physics gun, and Bioshock-like skill upgrade mechanics (and audio logs like the ones in System Shock). Technically Singularity doesn't bring anything new on the table with it's Unreal Engine. The Sigularity is a very easy game even on a high difficulty level. Upgrade mechanics are inconsistant and right out confusing at first. The Skill upgrades for player are not very well thought out and there's little to no reason to upgrade anything than just handful of skills out of a dozen options. There is also no need to upgrade weapons except for the sub-machine gun and sniper rifle. (Side note: I've never seen such an useless shotgun in any other game than in this one.) This is clearly an FPS intended for Playstation and Xbox, but the Windows version works decently. I miss the FOV setting and lots of other things such as bind for an ability to walk in this game which causes problems with some level and enemy design I'll explain soon. Even thought this game has weird default binds, you can easily adjust to them. However I suggest moving the health pack from key h to key x. You can also only carry two weapons at time plus the TMD which is a kind of melee weapon/tool in this game. Level design has some issues. Like invisible walls everywhere, and levels are mostly just a straight pipe. Sigularity was clearly designed and intended to be played on a gamepad. It means that when you move with a gamepad you can push the stick just a little or completely all the way, and that dictates your walking running speed. On a keyboard it's either on or off switch between not moving or moving as fast as normally you can (sprint is a separate function). There are sections in this game you cannot play on Windows without the help **** as it was intended by the Singularity's developers. In that part you have to keep certain move speed and sneak or you'll attact attention of the opponents. With keyboard you'll end up wasting ammo. Which kind of ****. But isn't a big problem since the game constantly keep supplying ammo to you. Now that out of the way, what's good about this game? Everything else. Atmosphere is fantastic, jumpscares are well done, music is good, characters are decent (even the ones copied from other games), and the black humour is hilarious. Time travelling thing in this game works flawlessly and while it's usage is limited, it's great fun. Levels offer minimal amout of exploring despite the pipe-stylish level design. There are things you can go look at and figure out how to get them (even if the solutions are very simple at most of the time). Graphics are decent. And sound design is well done (without counting few weird bits). Something this game has that lacks from so many other games is the kind of rhythm it has to it. Just when you think you've seen it all, the game throws something new at you and keeps the interest up. Sigularity knows how to focus on what's important at the time too and adjusts accordingly. I strongly think that we need more games like these. This is a fun game. It sure has its issues but it is lots of fun. Check it out with a discounted price tag from Steam or something. It's worth every penny.

I honestly cannot comprehend all the bad talk this game has received. This is an awesome game. It's very good at what it does and should be rewarded for that. It looks nice, it doesn't have any technical issues at all, and it offers tons of great moments. Some of the design issues are questionable but not major enough to cry over them. Gameplay is very immersive. Buy "Biohazard" 6 (I usually prefer the Japanese name since it reflects better what this game series is about than the american name "Resident Evil"). Yes, it's not an survival horror in a classical sense, and yes, it has some weird issues like for example the fact that you have to conserve ammo, but relying only to melee attacks isn't really a good strategy. Melee attacks are kind of difficult to execute even on a normal difficulty level. You see some zombies down you or kill you instantly in a close combat, even on a normal difficulty and getting healed by a partner isn't always possible. And while it doesn't frustrate me, I could see my console gaming buddies getting extremely irritated by the melee fighting. Talking about conserving ammo, this game finally finds a nice usage for the fire grenades. In previous games you got lots of ammo, and there really just wasn't hordes of enemies where you'd find usage for napalm. But this game fixes that. The Windows port of the is well executed and it doesn't have any major technical issues. However the menu structure in the game is bit confusing but not to a point it starts to irritate me. Just to repeat, THIS GAME DOES NOT SUFFER FROM TECHNICAL ISSUES WHAT SO EVER! The problem the other people have is their ATi/AMD graphics card which have always been very picky about the games they run nicely on. Especially if they haven't updated their ATi/AMD graphics drivers in months! If people would Google, you'd know that every single time a major title comes out, it will not run on an ATi/AMD graphics card without issues, or like in some cases, won't run at all. Go buy nVidia, or Intel, or anything else, and all the games will run just fine. It's not a fault of the game. ATi/AMD have hardware bugs in their graphic cards. They are cheap junk. Stop whining how games like this crash or don't work properly on a ATi/AMD graphics cards. This irritates me to to no end. Story is much much much closer to Resident Evil 2 & 3 than any other game in this series after them. People about the story don't understand what this game is about, that's for sure. Yeah, it takes cues from some famous zombie movies but I kind of expect to see George A. Romero references in a zombie game. Dialogue is on part with other games in this series so I don't want to bash the funny lines the mysterious characters speak while trying to be mysterious. Voice acting is allright. Visual art is nice and I kind of like the monster design which takes cues from other zombie games and movies. This game has tons and tons of replay value, and considering it only costs 30€ it has to be one of the best games of the last year. Co-op with your friends is solely worth your money. And unlike certain other games, this has actually the length **** game with single-player completition taking around 30-32 hours. Which is a great value. The game offers rich enough gameplay, you won't get bored during those hours. I kind of would have wanted ability to have a shared inventory with your partner like in the previous title, but this way where both have their own stuff is in my opinion better since you can just jump from game to game with unknown people and you're able to play without having to get into the hassle that some jackass won't share any of the ammo with you, or kick you out of the game when you want just few bullets for you gun. The design is mostly a just a matter of taste, but when it does something to harm the flow of the gameplay, it is a major screw up. And in Biohazard 6 there's one such thing. The four campaigns are split in four chapters. One such chapter usually on a normal gameplay style takes about two hours to complete. Those chapters are divided into sub-chapters which there are usually from 6 to 8 with each sub-chapter taking 15 minutes to complete. And here's the thing, you cannot save your game just at any point you'd like to save it. And the game just randomly seems to choose that save point being every 2nd or 3rd, I've once encountered even 4th sub-chapter change. And while game does checkpoints constantly, you might play the game for 45 minutes, without encountering a single actual save game point (which is indicated on a screen as a typewriter). And thus if you just leave the game, you'll lose the progress you've done in a sub-chapter no matter how much there is to it. And there's nothing you can do about it. If Biohazard 7 will get into the production and published, I want it to be something like this. I definitely do what it to be something like this. But with free saving, or checkpoint saves. Thanks for reading!

Don't trust people who give it score of 0 or 3. It's not a bad game. It's just... different from the other Resident Evil (Biohazard) games. Game is split into few different sections with different styles of progression. Story is direct continuation of Resident Evil 5 and easy to understand if you played Resident Evil 4 and 5. You could think this as a end part of the trilogy where everything that has happened comes together story-wise. Graphics are nice, Sound design is mostly okey, music is good, and art is mighty fine. Finally Resident Evil has controls updated from mid-90s to 2010s, and you're not in a tank mode anymore which kind of **** in previous games in this series. Imho fixed controls made this game way more fun to play than any of the previous games in the series. And for the fixed controls and everything else I'm giving the 9 it deserves. Considering that it has some issues with scripted events and certain fixed camera angles which didn't really work that well... I probably should stamp a solid 7 or 8 on top of it. And yes, it's true that the controls, the story, the enemy design, and the situations you get to make this game more action oriented game which has a horror theme on top of it. It's not solely about survival horror despite it having a survival horror segment in it when you play as Leon and shoot zombies. The game probably gives you few scares but other than that it's more about horror themed action game. Something Resident Evil (Biohazard) series has always done the best. And it's just that the name for this game is wrong. If it was called anything else than "Resident Evil" it would have not probably gotten all this trolling and hate going on for it. I personally think the Japanese name "Biohazard" is more suitable name for the series and should be called Biohazard since it's logical name for the game and themes and story are all essentially about "biohazard(s)".

Where's John Romero when you need him? Despite strong visuals and good sound design, the Rage fails on gameplay side of things so dramatically that there's very little or no reason to play the game. Not to mention how much bugs the Windows version has but those issues are something id Software at least can repair later on. What they cannot repair is outdated 90s game design which is executed very badly. This game is exact opposite of Daikatana where the technology failed to support the too strong design. Rage has too strong technology for so weak design that it cannot support the overall experience in a positive manner. And all that just leaves very bad after taste in mouth. Solution is firing Tim Willits (or moving him to be just a map designer which is what he does best) and hiring somebody who can not only design new kinds of games but also oppose John Carmack when there's a design decisions to be made. id Software, I am disappointed in you.

I've been fan of the DJMAX games since the first release (please note that officially title is written "DJMAX" without a space in between DJ and MAX. For example ability to watch music videos and listen the soundtrack. United States and Korea releases both were plagued by bugs. Most of them have been already fixed. However in United States release gameplay balance was tipped off by patch but it's not necessary a bad thing for inexperienced american gamers. US version also isn't as supported as well as KR version. For example ranking sites are different and there are various differences in functionality. DJMP3 is not as much fun to play as the previous games such as "DJMAX Portable 2" and "DJMAX Clazziquai Edition" which where never released in Northern America. I think that the best title in the series is the "DJMAX Portable" which is the first PSP title in the series. DJMP3 music is pretty good for a DJMAX game. But at the same time they fall in a pit of being too generic common music. What makes DJMAX Portable unique is that most of the songs are well designed and they are also highly experimental music from genres which probably still haven't reached mainstream popularity. DJMAX Portable 3 doesn't include much experimental music and instead offers well designed mainstream trance, pop and rock. DJMAX Portable 3 artists are still mostly korean and japanese talents but to my surprise there were also songs from DJ Keri included. She is a female DJ from United States. Other sound design is high quality but it leaves for a hi-fi enthusiast like myself still craving for something more. DJ "Mr. Funky" has done good job and probably one of my favourite composers from now on in the series. The graphics are probably best of the series. Every new DJMAX Portable has improved graphics and graphical quality. DJMP3 has been beautifully visualized but at the same time there's a carefully thought balance between live video and drawn animations. Its on pair with the Black Square if not better. Gameplay like I probably already mentioned is just bad. Basically it's still the familiar DJMAX but changes in leveling, collecting items and gameplay modes make it feel like you've been betrayed by your wife. I should probably start with saying that in DJMP3 all the best songs are locked from the start. That's ok and I don't mind that I get new songs when I level up and its actually good idea to keep gamer interested in game. But designers have made it so that you only get really tiny amounts of experience points from playing the game. They artificially make game unnaturally long. DJMP3 has about 100 levels and new songs start to appear randomly (selectable lottery box after you've gained new level appears) after level 50. Its annoying and not fun at all. US version tried to correct this by adding 10% more experience points but it probably made it just more annoying for gamers playing in hard mode. And hard mode... its been ruined in a weird way. US version on normal is about as easy as KR on easy. However US hard mode is as hard if not harder than KR version hard mode. This is probably caused by some kind of bug but I really don't know about that. Collecting experience is hard also because you're not able to access all gameplay modes. For example if you play on normal, and want to collect more experience you could select harder button mode like 6B. New turntable system changes this into more annoying chance. 6B is not available from the start. You have to unlock it for normal mode. ... I think I'll leave this review here and instead rewrite it and publish it on my blog... But you get the generic idea why I don't like DJMAX Portable 3. it's not very hard game but it's annoying to play for various reasons.
