This is an amazing take on that whole, Silent Hill feel of games, where your more helpless, alone, where your psychologically and physically attacked almost all of the time, the vibe this game gives is great. I cant say that i'm a fan of the indie feel of it, with the side-scrolling and sprites, but surprisingly this game pulls it off pretty well. You would think that ugly sprites wouldn't be scary, well you'd be wrong. The enemies, as mentioned before, are very Silent Hill-like, same with the environments, making the game have an absolutely horrid vibe to it, but one of the best feels out of a horror game you can get. Main complain that comes out of this game though is the way you keep your character healthy, you have to eat, sleep, make sure you don't eat bad things (i.e. rotten meat), etc. While that is an interesting concept, it gets kind of annoying having to scarf down cheese and crackers every 5 minutes to keep your character from complaining. But, overall, the vibe, visuals, and even story out-weigh the bad things in this game heavily, its definitely worth picking up if your a fan of Silent Hill, or any kind of survival horror kind of game.

You know, I really can't say what makes this game appeal to me so much. Its really just a much shorter half-life from a different point of view, but I still cant help but love it. I think that what might be the main appeal to me about this is the fact that you just play as a normal guy. He isn't the main character of the series, so he doesn't have the "Main Protagonist" kind of immortality. He isn't a trained soldier like in Half-Life: Opposing Force, hes just a kind of normal dude. He probably just woke up that morning, had his breakfast, went to work, then everything just went to **** for no reason. Really, this is just Half-life just shorter and from a different point of view, so there's really not much to say about it, because what you buy is what you expect.

If there's anything that needs to be said about this game, it's that it is incredibly difficult. The difficulty borders along that line of "Incredibly Satisfying" and "Pull your hair out from irritation". It takes a LOT of getting used to, but overall this game is charming, cute, and funny. The story isn't exactly mind blowing, but the like-able characters make it worth sitting down and listening to. There are some obvious flaws, like massive difficulty spikes, unfair situations, and a bit of repetivity, but overall the goods outweigh the bads by quite a bit. Anyone who is a fan of anime and jrpg's should pick it up, and anyone looking for a good challenge, but otherwise, don't bother with it.

Jesus this game was amazing. It was original, well written, the characters were like-able and relate-able, its soundtrack would add just the right feeling to the scene, adding to what the scene was already giving you... this game is just great. Aside from a few bugs that emerge from the games engine, such as getting stuck or accidentally getting glitched somewhere, this game is basically perfect in what it tries to do. I can't really say much more than that.

This game is difficult, painful, and repetitive, but there's something about it that keeps you playing. At times this game will annoy you immensely, especially with its system of "If you die you get an injury that ruins a good 2 hours of play-time", but its surprisingly pretty fun. The combat feels good and powerful, the ragdolls make your weapons seem like over-powered beasts at times, which makes it feel great to kill enemies, but at the same time the enemies are using the same guns, so you feel just as weak as they are. Ill admit that I probably had a lot more fun with this game than I should have, because when you really look at the game, its not very impressive. Overall i'd say this game is alright, pretty cool art-style, interesting cyber-punk kinda concept, pretty fun game-play. Mainly the problems in this game lie where its very VERY much flawed and had a lot of wasted potential. It EASILY could have been a much better game than it actually is.

I feel there isn't really much I can say about this game that hasn't already been said at one time or another. This game was fun, exciting, beautifully done, well written, and most of all, bad ***. There wasn't a point in this game that I got bored with, its environments, people, story, and game-play all keep you hooked into playing more until you uncover everything it has to offer. It has nice challenge, giving you the option to go all out blasting or being a stealthy bat-man type of character. This is an amazing and worthy prequel to the original Deus Ex, and any fans of the series, or even anyone just getting started should pick up this game if they haven't played it. All in all this game was great, aside from a few minor glitches here or there or a bit of cheesy but memorable voice acting, this game doesn't really have anything inherently bad about it.

Due to its charming art-style and characters, this game brings a nice refreshment to the indie genre. Where as the poster-child of indie games is an 8-bit side-scroller with metroid-isq exploration, this is trying to be different with its game-play and mechanics. Its unique, funny, cute, and enjoyable, but it still falls short in some areas. While it has a nice challenge to it, with interesting boss battles, enemies, and areas, it is also borderline aggravating at times. Your attacks aren't 100% reliable, so while it is skill based, its also a bit of luck involved with it. And because this game is skill based, it also means that trying to grind up levels or money to buy the best equipment doesn't work. The game isn't exp-based, its based on items. To increase your health, you buy an item specifically for that, making money-grinding a kind of PITA at times. Really, all in all this is a charming and fun game, that's refreshing and enjoyable, but there are moments that you will have trouble and probably get irritated at it because of its sometimes unforgiving difficulty.

This game is unique in the way that it brings a new, interesting art style, with many MANY different enemies, bosses, and power-ups to collect, and with its dark story. But what it accomplishes in some areas, it falls short in many others. The power-ups you collect don't change the game-play in any way, its always a boost to health, damage, or bullet type, there are almost no power-ups that actually dramatically change the way the game plays, its always the same "Walking around crying on turds". I can respect the attempt to create a different, dark, and gruesome art-style that this game tries to portray, but in terms of game-play it really isn't that enjoyable past your first couple play-throughs. Yes, there are many different items to collect, but even with the items, power-ups, and enemies, its still always the same boring, meme-filled garbage for every room and every floor. Really, all in all I can respect the premise and idea of the game, but the way it was executed was poor.

Obviously, as a Visual Novel, there isn't much to say about game-play, its really just reading, exploring files, and clicking on stuff. But what it lacks in game-play it makes up for in its story, background, and characters. There are points in this story that will shock or disgust you, stress you out, make you cry, laugh...really, the story is pretty great, as are the characters. The art is done well, as is the writing, there isn't really anything just remotely bad about the game, what you expect from a VN is what you get, and what you get with this is great. All in all i'd say that if you want a unique, enjoyable story with sci-fi undertones then this is worth picking up.

I started off with this game only knowing what I had seen in videos, and in those said videos this game looked like a blast. The back-swing mechanic, the way your weapons actually have an arc to them, hit-boxes, etc. were all some of the major things I really looked forward to with this game. Within a week I purchased it, and within a week I could already tell that this was just going to be another easily-exploited PvP game. You will find yourself annoyed or even infuriated by this games distinct lack of balance. I understand where the developers were coming from, trying to make a realistic PvP medieval game, and I can respect that. But the lack of balance in this game makes a good portion of your games boring as your constantly slaughtered by Vanguards and Archers. So unless you plan to play as the aforementioned classes, prepare to be murdered over and over again by the same dude with a pole-axe. All in all this game is a blast when your allowed to have fun, the design, game-play, and even humor in this game makes it amazing, and when your alive, you will probably be laughing the entire time. But that is only a fraction of the time due to its lack of balance and easy exploits.
