Dec 23, 2020
Too long, with too many side-plots that take the movie just about nowhere. The actors aren't too blame, they're doing a great job. It's just Spike Lee, he doesn't know when to stop. No masterpiece like Do the Right Thing or BlacKkKlansman this time around. It's almost ok to watch, but not quite.

Tenet6
Sep 18, 2020
The worst Christopher Nolan movie to date IMO. I loved Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, etc. but this one has serious problems. The acting is good, but the dialogues are hard to follow, at least after a single viewing. Character development is minimal, we never even learn the name of the main character and that's quite a hindrance to any sort of emotional investment. Any movie that tries to explain time-travel in a pseudo-scientific way is going to irk me. Everything is pointless, there is no free will, everything already happened so everybody can just do whatever the frack they want, regardless of any consequences to anybody else, because that's what was supposed to happen anyway. Apocalypse, here we come! The oxygen, really? How did they came up with that inverted lungs crap? Absolute rubbish for a plot, not a good plan. Some of the action scenes are worth watching, but all in all I really didn't enjoy this movie as much as I had hoped.

Empty Metal0
Aug 14, 2020
After a couple of minutes you'll know this won't be a good movie. After 5 minutes you'll know that nothing good will come from watching 80+ minutes of this nonsense. Soon enough you'll wonder if anyone who wasn't paid to watch this has actually seen this all the way through.
I've seen laughably bad movies before, but this is like ten times worse. This is actually painfully bad.

The Old Guard4
Aug 13, 2020
It starts out somewhat promising, but then dumb choices, an poorly acted "awakening" and soon you find yourself wondering what you're watching. It's not totally terrible, some of the action isn't all that bad, but the plot is thin and overly convenient. Lazy writing FTW! How did Charlize Theron end up in this thing? Very little about the whole story is believable on any level. Dialogues are pretty much meaningless. Not really worth seeing but maybe not too cringeworthy for a Netflix Original. Definitely not something you'll want to watch twice.

Colonia7
Jul 19, 2020
Slow, uncomfortable, gripping and based on real events. Quite harsh at times once you know this, but definitely worth the watch if you can handle the reality of military dictatorship. Emma Watson is nice to watch on screen, she is however hard to believe in her role with the choices she makes.
Jul 19, 2020
Tolkien6
Jul 19, 2020
A quite nice, though often boring, sometimes puzzling, sometimes touching biopic on the life of J.R.R. Tolkien. It's decent in both quality and acting but there's nothing really there to make it actally worth seeing.
Jul 19, 2020
Palm Springs8
Jul 19, 2020
Really good movie for a comedy, nice script, good acting, good pacing, good music. Wow, never thought I'd like it this much. Nothing **** or anything but really fun to watch. Recommended.
Jul 14, 2020
The Gentlemen8
Jul 14, 2020
A simple yet entertaining ganster movie directed by Guy Ritchie. Good dialogues, many of those actually funny, the plot is pretty simple yet not overly predictable. The acting is good and the cast obviously had a great time shooting this. Grant, Mc ****, Farrell and Hunnam all performed beautifully.
While this movie may not be innovative, it's thoroughly entertaining and that's good enough for me.
Jul 13, 2020
Extraction6
Jul 13, 2020
Pretty thin on the story-front, but the action is good to watch. Not really out there with movies you just have to see. It's a Netflix Original, an good enough for an evening at home.
Jul 13, 2020
Bloodshot6
Jul 13, 2020
Some really good action scenes. Vin Diesel will be Vin Diesel, not much of an actor but he can do action. Some really serious plot holes prevent this from actually being a good movie, but it's pretty fun to watch nonetheless.
Jul 10, 2020
Bad Boys for Life6
Jul 10, 2020
Not a bad movie, but I would probably pass on seeing it again in the not so near future. The chemistry between the two leads is still nice but the whole thing is kinda slow in between the action and the story is very predictable. 25 years after the first Bad Boys, but unfortunately not really better than the first, but still considerably better than the second.
Jul 10, 2020
Top Gun7
Jul 10, 2020
A bit cheesy, but still a very enjoyable movie with pretty brilliant cinematography, certainly for an 80's movie. Tom Cruise's acting career literally took off with this movie. Nice to watch again, even after all this time.
Jun 7, 2020
The Lion King7
Jun 7, 2020
Visually very nice, better than the original, but the songs simply don't carry the same weight as the original. Of course its simply the same story as the animated movie. Overall it's not as good as the original, but still worth seeing.
Jun 6, 2020
The Judge7
Jun 6, 2020
Robert Downey Jr. almost singlehandedly lifts this movie into the worth seeing category. Robert Duvall also does a great job in this movie. The story is a bit cliché and at times overly slow but it is told well enough to make this movie well worth watching.
Jun 6, 2020
Hostel2
Jun 6, 2020
There is really nothing worth seeing here. Cheap trash horror movie with quite a bit of naked breasts thrown in so you'd have at least some incentive to not ditch this crap after 15 minutes if you can appreciate feminine curves.
May 31, 2020
No Good Deed3
May 31, 2020
Weak plot if you can even call it that. Slow, boring and predictable. Idris Elba can't save this movie from being quite the disaster.
May 30, 2020
Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)4
May 30, 2020
Some well choreographed, though pretty dumb, fight scenes in there. Harley Quinn is however just plain annoying to watch in this flick. The really boring plot just isn't going anywhere, ever. Damaged feminist supremacists that put men down to make it look like women come out on top. You just have to like their crap because not liking the work of genuine manhaters must be politically incorrect, right? I beg to differ. Bad is just bad.
May 27, 2020
The X Files5
May 27, 2020
Less interesting than the average episode of the TV-series. Really very unbelievable and highly improbable plot. Only for those who really want to believe.
May 19, 2020
Nerve4
May 19, 2020
This movie will probably fare better with twelve year olds than it will with adults. The story is flimsy, things just seem to happen and somehow, by some small miracle, work out. The dares are sometimes nice to watch. You'd expect more people to get killed trying dumb crap like this. The acting is okay, for a teen movie of course. In the beginning it manages to engage the viewer, but in the end it just can't deliver in any sort of meaningful way.
May 17, 2020
Bleed for This5
May 17, 2020
The true story, hats off for that, a comeback as unlikely as anything. The movie is far from epic however. It's a reasonably okay movie, for a boxing movie that is. No epic cinematography, no great or even good acting. As a movie it's passable, if pretty bland. The true story achievement deserves better than this bleak attempt at real cinema.
May 16, 2020
Third Person3
May 16, 2020
Three boring love stories intertwined through their own meaninglessness. What a desperate attempt at a movie. All that talent wasted on whatever this was supposed to have been but just wasn't.
May 9, 2020
The Diary of a Teenage Girl5
May 9, 2020
A fifteen year old girl discovers her sexuality, mostly with a man over twice her age and it's pretty graphic with quite a lot of nudity. Well, with that out of the way, it is about a teenage girl becoming a woman so you shouldn't watch this at all if you have a problem with seeing naked people. San Francisco in the seventies is the stage for the sexual adventures of Minnie, her mother and boyfriend that ultimately lead nowhere really. The story doesn't really deliver, it just happens and ends up feeling rather meh.
May 9, 2020
Peppermint4
May 9, 2020
Very cliché and unbelievable revenge action movie. It starts out pretty good, but gets totally unbelievable in a hurry. In the end you'll be glad it's over, that's something I guess.
May 9, 2020
Jane Got a Gun6
May 9, 2020
It's an okay western. Decent acting and cinematography, but mostly predictable and somewhat lame story.
Apr 10, 2020
Ip Man 4: The Finale7
Apr 10, 2020
The fight scenes in this movie are well choreographed, those against Wan, Colin and Barton are quite memorable. The story is pretty unimaginative though. Ip's son gets kicked out of school and Ip man goes to America to find a school that will take him. The racism in the movie doesn't always takes the guise of a Karate vs. Kung Fu (Wing Chun). It's however quite over the top and at times more than just a bit offputting.
Donnie Yen's performance as Ip Man is top notch as usual. They could have done more with the Bruce Lee character though. Overall you just might want to watch this again for the fights, you'll have to put up with the racist story to get there.
Apr 10, 2020
The Perks of Being a Wallflower8
Apr 10, 2020
Surprisingly good for a high school drama. Pretty great acting and a moving story, even if the characters are a bit cliché. A good coming of age movie nonetheless.
Apr 9, 2020
Bad Country4
Apr 9, 2020
A crime/action/thriller set in Louisiana with some big names that doesn't quite manage to keep you interested. Bland story and all routine, no twists, just meh. It's not aweful but not worth seeing either.
Mar 27, 2020
Uncut Gems5
Mar 27, 2020
We had high expectations for a 90% metacritic rating, unfortunately 'Uncut Gems' fell short of the mark. Great performance by Sandler but there were too many implausible choices to really buy into the story, which keeps you from emotionally connecting to the characters. The soundtrack is annoying to keep on listening to. I can't say I had a good time watching this.
Mar 23, 2020
The Invisible Man6
Mar 23, 2020
Decent enough thriller, though I wouldn't call it horror just because there's some blood in it. The acting of the lead is good, she sure knows how to do crazy. However the story is rather cliché with characters doing dumb things just to further the story along. The ending is sort of surprising but it also takes away the whole buildup if one could call it that. But it managed to get my heart pumping faster than usual, so that's something, just not quite good enough to be recommended, just okay.
Mar 15, 2020
The Irishman8
Mar 15, 2020
Superb acting, excelent directing, beautiful cinematography but just too darn long. Otherwise this would have been a masterpiece. I doubt I'd want to see it again.
Mar 13, 2020
Onward6
Mar 13, 2020
This movie is pretty subpar for Pixar. The concept of a modern world simply having gotten out of touch with magic and some RPG-game kids rediscovering it and going on a quest might sound nice, but it tries too hard. While the third act is emotionally rewarding, overall the journey isn't all that it could have been.
Mar 12, 2020
Jojo Rabbit5
Mar 12, 2020
Jarring at first, very occasionally funny, but more often than not cringe-worthy attempts at humour in a setting that's hardly funny. I tried to enjoy this movie, but I can't say that I did.
Mar 11, 2020
Sonic the Hedgehog7
Mar 11, 2020
Sonic The Hedgehog is a pretty entertaining video game adaptation. Youngsters will probaly love this more than your average adult, but it is well-paced and reasonably funny. You could do significantly worse than this title.
Mar 10, 2020
Little Women5
Mar 10, 2020
The costumes are nice. Some of the star performances are pretty forgettable, some are really good. Sometimes entertainingly humorous, though most of the time it's just depressingly boring. The editing is awkward at times. As a whole it's not awful, but it's nowhere near as good as the critcs would have you believe.
I guess the critcs value political correctness more than entertainment value.
Mar 1, 2020
Dark Waters7
Mar 1, 2020
The fact that this movie is based on a true story is it's main strength. If it wasn't, the movie would be pretty much average. Mark Ruffalo does a great job.
I think Americans need to see this movie especially. It's pretty safe to say that transparency and civic responsibility aren't the values that drive corporate America.
Feb 27, 2020
Bombshell5
Feb 27, 2020
This movie wants to be like Vice, and Vice wasn't great. Unfortunately there's not a lot going on that keeps you entertained or even interesting. Charlize Theron was worth watching, but that's about it. Voicing anti-Trump sentiments might be entertaining for a while, but it gets old pretty fast. The sexual harassement part just never really builds up enough momentum to leave a mark.
Feb 16, 2020
No Country for Old Men7
Feb 16, 2020
A strange ending, but it keeps you hooked throughout the movie. Great acting, definitely worth seeing.
Feb 16, 2020
Alien: Covenant7
Feb 16, 2020
Covenant is pretty good but it would be better without all the obvious mistakes the crew makes. Walk onto an uncharted planet and just straight on breathe in the air, no filtration system required, we'll be fine. Let's just continue to smoke in a space ship, we're all idiots after all. I guess nobody with at least half a brain wanted to explore space and they just sent in the idiots they couldn't otherwise get rid off. Not really much suspense in this prequel since you pretty know how it's going to turn out from the sequels. Despite the obvious weaknesses in the story, the action and visuals are still quite entertaining. Let's call it a low seven.
Feb 15, 2020
Parasite10
Feb 15, 2020
I saw this movie for the third time now. I'm still trying to think of a movie that's better than this one and coming up short. The first ever non-English spoken movie that won the best movie oscar, simply because it was the best movie. It's an amazing story with a twist and an ending that I really didn't see coming. A drama/comedy balance with social commentary that works surprisingly well. The acting is simply great and I think it'll be a while before something better comes to the big screen. It's just really, really good, even after seeing it three times I still love every second of it.
Feb 9, 2020
By the Sea3
Feb 9, 2020
Boring sums it up nicely. I actually dozed off a couple of times watching this movie. Beautiful imagery, decent acting, obscure message if there even is one.
Feb 1, 2020
19177
Feb 1, 2020
The continouos one shot of the movie is it's main feature. It unfortunately also limits what can be done in storytelling. In a massive action scene it's really a phenomenal achievement, but in rather boring uneventful scenes you as a viewer have to walk the distance. The one shot gimmick makes the movie less enjoyable than it could be IMO. Sticking with at least trying to make it look like it was shot in one go does have downsides. If you admire how movies are made you'll probably be extatic about this one. If you're just in it to see a good movie, you might be slightly disappointed. Don't let the hoarde of one-review 10's fool you. This is not a movie you just have to see for anything other than to marvel at the technical one-shot feat. While it is quite the remarkable achievement it's also it's achilles heel.
Jan 13, 2020
Veronica Mars5
Jan 13, 2020
It was okay, though somewhat underwhelming. The plot is simple, some romantic moments that are somewhat awkward. It passed the time but was hardly memorable for anything. It feels like a strung out, not so great, episode of the series. I've seen episodes that are far more entertaining.
Dec 28, 2019
The Brothers Grimsby4
Dec 28, 2019
Got this one as a gift, it's an action comedy of sorts. The action is actually well done and really stands on it's own, the humor is however grossly immature and will at times really offend. There are moments you'll be really embarressed you're watching this, unless you think **** poison out of somebody's balls and being anally invaded and subsequently cum on by a horde of elephants after having crawled inside a female elephant to hide is actually quite funny. Do not watch in the company of someone that wants to maintain any sort of dignity or intelligent demeanor. It's really just gross. Without the gross homour it could have easily been a 6 or 7/10, but it's there unfortunately. Do not watch in company. I myself stopped watching at the elephant scene. I wish I hadn't seen that.
Dec 27, 2019
Furious 76
Dec 27, 2019
A lot of over the top stunt action, none of it even remotely believable. But it's reasonably entertaining for an action flick with a story that's just an excuse for all the stuntwork.
Dec 26, 2019
Knives Out8
Dec 26, 2019
Knives Out is really good. It's an intriguing and fun whodunnit. Well acted, the plot is a bit farfetched but it still turns out rather well. One of the better movies of the year. I'd give it an 8.5 if I could, but I'm gonna go with a 9 because it was really, really entertaining.
Dec 25, 2019
After3
Dec 25, 2019
This is a prime example of a bad movie. It really is. A story not worth telling, cliché, cardboard characters, and a really horrible ending. What more could you possibly need to burn this thing to the ground?
Dec 24, 2019
Paddington 28
Dec 24, 2019
Paddington 2 is a good family movie, good for more than just a few laughs. It's goofy, funny, heartwarming and entertaining. The clumsy bear is really well done. It looks like a real bear. Quite a feat I imagine. The result is really worth watching if you can handle a comedy.
Dec 24, 2019
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker6
Dec 24, 2019
This movie has some plot issues. Things just happen are you're supposed to just go along with it and not question why. If you can do that it's actually a quite enjoyable ending to the saga. It's over the top in terms of force-power, dwarfing anything that came before it, even episode 8. There are some humorous moments and quite a bit of fan-service, so overall it's decent. The ending is really quite nice and worth seeing.
Dec 23, 2019
6 Underground6
Dec 23, 2019
It's not as bad as I feared, knowing it's a Michael Bay movie. It would actually be reasonably good were it not for the so obviously dumb Plot. A billionaire hires a bunch of officially dead people to bring down a dictator and replace him with his brother. The action is over the top with lots of explosions but I found it quite amusing.
Dec 8, 2019
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King9
Dec 8, 2019
The Return of the King is a fitting ending to this epic trilogy. Peter Jackson has delivered an epic piece of cinematography that is unlikely to be surpassed in the near, or not so near, future. Tolkien would have been genuinely proud.
