If you were at all hoping for a journey of self discovery, psychological grit, immense ambition, or refreshing, you're really falling prey to critics who had their **** in their hand the whole film but couldn't quite say "this is an Emma Stone sex tape that I didn't have to clear my browser history after watching" in their reviews. It's not a feminist film by any stretch of the imagination. It's watching Emma Stone pretend to have an infantile mind while having sex, which should be deeply concerning and extraordinarily uncomfortable for any audience. This movie is a glorified porno and not much else. The production design doesn't excuse how awful the script and substance of the film are.
