Mi-season, great story and narrative, great voice actors, I would like more dispatching phases as I think it lacks a bit of gameplay.

Congrats, you totally ruined the game with the stupid over exagerated difficulty of the "early game".20h into the game, still no pv upgrade, no weapon upgrade, bosses have endless PV and you have no way to improve your **** some point, learn that "more" doesn't mean "better". I'm disgusted by my experience of this game so far.I know people are saying "wait it will get better once you unlock this and that" : if I buy a story driven game, and have no story elements for 20h, it doesn't matter if someone tells me" wait, story will arrive and will be good", it's a failure.Same here, the early game is a mess, tested by only a few people knowing the game. What a let down.

The game is nice and interesting in the beginning but the more I was climbing, the more the quality decreased.
Landscaped and atmosphere became less inspired, and the optimisation became worse in every chapter. I finished the game but grew tired of it, its story elements that were to be found and read totally failed to get my attention and interest.

Done 100% of the game and got the platinum. Really liked it, it felt really fresh as a summer game.

Completed the Platinum trophy of the game and all challenges. It takes almost everything from Astro's playroom and fails to innovate.
I found playroom better. The music here is mostly rearrangements from playroom, but less good than the originals, most of the gameplay mechanics too. The game is cute, hearing some if the most popular playstation games themes was a really nice touch, but once finished, nothing from this game really stayed with me.

Too long, I wasn't even near the end after +85h of gameplay.
It felt to me that the whole story was passing way above me, I never felt concerned or invested in what was happening. The game lacks of music themes and the non talking hero is always complicated for me, although that's totally subjective. Gameplay was ok to me, but clearly not for everyone. Great voice over.

+70h played and got the Platinum trophy. Artistic direction is great.
Music is below other souls games.
The feeling of exploration is really good and refreshing. I didn't like the feeling of boss rush through the game.
I'm more for fewer but emblematic bosses that repetition and over saturation of them. On that side, I felt way less pleasure than in most others soulsborne gamres.

I loved the game, it felt fresh in the video game industry of the past few years. The story was intense, full of mysteries and mature. The music were great. The minigames were really bad, if it's not good enough, don't put it in your game at all, it doesn't serve you well in the end I liked the parry/dodge system. I liked the twists of the scenario, but I personnaly wasn't such a fan of the ending(s), I got a bit disappointed by this as a final thought of the game.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach6

I finished the game yesterdah with +85 hours of gameplay. The game is impressive on a technical point of view. The landscapes are great and the decima engine delivers really well. The music by Woodkif and Ludwig Forsell are also great, even if a bit below what Low Roar delivered in DS1 in my subjective opinion. The gameplay is pleasant, though it was made too easy even on high difficulty settings. I didn't feel that I had to prepare before a trip anymore, I rarely fell, and almost never encountered BT's. That was the first let down. As for the scenario and the directing of the cut scenes, the game is a catastrophe, especially near the end. I felt... saturated by MGS although I wasn't playing an MGS game.
The game loses its identity in trying to add action that wasn't the theme of the first game. The 2 gameplays (walking/hiking vs. stealth action) don't go well together.
The retcon of key elements from DS1 were a mistake that shows direct disrespect to the previous game. It seems like Hideo Kojima doesn't know what to tell as a story anymore. We completely lose the DS1 atmosphere and its world-saving goals, Kojima is just trying to put every piece of story from his past and previous MGS games into this one. And it doesn't work. The game scenario ends up being a frankenstein monster. I loved DS1 so much, but the final 4 hours of DS2 were a nightmare that didn't want to end. It just looked like a joke to me, the antagonist was a joke, the final battle was a joke, such wasted potential.

Played on PS5 2 years after its release, it wasn'tthe 2.0 version yet (arrived 1 year after) and the experience was clearly the worst I had in the last 20 years. Nothing worked, from incoherent conception of the city to the npc's AI during missions. I had a lot of really "breaking the game" bugs, a fair amount of softlocks and a ton of minor bugs.
The city was emptywith no life, the driving system was a mess, ennemies could shot through walls... To me, no matter how much they worked on the game afterwards, they should never have released it in that condition, thus is not respectful towards the players.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard9
Nov 6, 2024
After finishing it, I would have given the game 8 to be fair to my opinion if it wasn't for the unjustified bashing that is done by putting armies of 0 by people that haven't even played (can't possibly rate a +50h game on day one). 0 would fit a game which is not finished and unplayable, like "The day before" for example.
Veilguard is nothing like that: the game is finished and I didn't encounter any bug nor softlock during my playthrough (ps5). The game is well optimised, I only had a few framerate drops in a specific location. The story is interesting and got my attention way more than Inquisition.
I like the rythm and the structure of the game even if it could have been better. The game sadly lacks of maturity in the way the characters are written, they're not bad, but to me they deserved to be more "adults".
It also lacks of meaningful choices, I would have expected way more of them. The gameplay is fun, I played mage and had a blast using both magic orb and dagger. About the "thing" that made people go full vendetta against the game and give 0 anf without spoiling the game: it's true that it is not well written.
The character involved in the drama starts really well upon joining the team, the voice actor does a really good job and the character arrives as a funny sided character, this is well done and I liked the character at that time.
At some point though, maybe 40h, into the game, the social subject described is sadly not well handled, making you feel like you're out of Thedas and talking about the real world, that's not how players want to feel.
The problem is not talking about the subject, it's about how it's done, without real link to the lore of the game.
That makes a nice character go really low and disappointing in the end. That said, this character's story is not even 5% of the whole game: remember that you play who you want, you romance who you want, if this character annoys you, you can choose to never take them in your party, you can choose not to do their companion quests either, such a small thing in a +60h playthrough is honestly not ruining the whole experience whatsoever.

I loved to revisit this story with all the little details referencing the original.
The game was generous and provided elements that I didn't even expect.
I also felt emotions related to nostalgia that were really strong, having played to OG in early 1998. I also liked their take on the story so far, I really hope this is under control and will bring a satisfying ending.
