Do not buy this game on PC. It is not optimized and has numerous issues such as : Lag. Stuttering. Freezing (in fights, fatalities, fatal blows, intros and cut scenes in story mode) . This happens in every single fight. The game not shutting down properly every time you close it. Taking up to 4 and a half minutes to even open after clicking Play on Steam (it never opens immediately). The uppercut brutality causing the victim's head to float stationary in midair (every time). Aswell as those, there are other things like subtitles in story mode displaying as code like MK12_148_154,11 rather than the actual words the character is saying (this happened more than once with different characters, btw), typos in the tutorials, move lists showing the same input for multiple special moves (Shang Tsung's fireballs on the pause menu). There are other things I have a problem with that aren't bugs or a case of optimization like the menus being completely bare bones as if the game was made by an indie solo dev - for each game mode on the main menu MK11 has portrait pictures, text and the announcer reads out the name of the game mode. MK1 only has text. Customization in MK11 was 3 gear pieces, MK1 has only 1 (you can barely even see Mileena's sai so why would you care if you can change them?). There are no character intros in fights which MKX and MK11 had. They may not seem that important but they show the character's personality and give you some background to the character's and their relationship to each other and some of them were pretty funny. It makes the game feel cheap and unfinished without them. There are no idle animations in fights. Characters just stand in their default pose and that's it. Not a huge deal but it gave each character a bit more personality in my opinion and just makes MK1 look lazy and rushed. Shang Tsung is a preorder bonus despite being playable in story mode. Ermac and Quan Chi also have far bigger roles than Geras but are both DLC yet Geras is base roster. It's not a bad game overall but with all the performance issues it's not worth buying currently.
