It has an achingly simplistic plot, but 'Attack the Block' is refreshing with its use of the humour of 'chavs meet aliens', sporadic scares, and plenty of age-appropriate violence.

Though the Gringotts scene seems rather rushed and not as thrilling as previous Horcrux-searching scenes, 'Part 2' offers (and delivers) a vast amount of emotion, great acting, witty dialogue, and stylish visuals to say farewell to the magical series.

Although there's still a certain degree of suspense present, this remake simply adds to the mountainous pile of remakes that simply can't outdo the original, no matter how good-looking the lead is or how flashy the setting looks.

Initially, the audience will be left thinking of this film as okay but wondering how it could possibly do anything to make itself stick in your mind. Rest assured, it does develop and proves itself to be an emotional piece of work and cleverly written.

Although scary in a less haunting way than the first 'Scream' (which actually had you scared to fall asleep in case GhostFace came for you), 'Scream 4' manages to keep fans on the edge of their seat by using meta humour, shocking twists, and even a couple of genuine scares, both of which make up for the lack of emotion present and over-the-top body count.

'Toy Story' has not relinquished its hold on emotion satisfaction, stunning visuals, and comedic validity, however this closing chapter seems to focus more on being funny than being compelling.

'The Mummy' has the jokes, the action, and the chills along with the sneaky little educational references here and there that serve a refreshing mummy film ****

The first 10 minutes may suggest otherwise, but Zombieland somehow manages to amusingly gross you out with much violence, keep you chuckling at the jokes the whole way through, and also seem touchingly sad at brief moments.

'Kick-Ass' is a seriously bloody, action-packed, fun-loving, imaginative, and above all, ridiculously hilarious piece of work. The levels of outrageousness and the action sequences are the film's most hooking elements.

The dialogue will confuse some and some may even find it boring, but 'The Social Network' has an interesting plot as well as comedy and sophistication that many modern movies seem to lack.

This installment in the 'Shrek' series still maintains the comic validity of the previous three, and has a few moments which set it apart from the others, but much of what was wrong with the third is still present in this one.

Not only does this film emphasise how HP has matured, it also shows more invention, action, and romantic, the result of which being probably the second-best film in the series thusfar.

'Braveheart' means well, provides a few emotionally wrenching segments, and won't disappoint gore fans, but the film's content will make historians feel sick to their stomachs.

The original 'Jeepers Creepers' initially seemed like a fine piece of work but ultimately became one great big clichÃ, however this one is just one great big clichà from start to finish.

'Evan Almighty' strongly lacks the hilarious jokes, the original hooks, and the ridiculous references that made 'Bruce Almighty' so great. This is yet another example of how a film with Jim Carrey in it will make you laugh, but the Carrey-less sequel will make you frown.

This film is far too childish for any adult's liking and the music becomes so boring that most people would switch the TV off before half-way through.

'Scream 3' still has the familiar traits that made the first two films so dynamic, but the film as a whole proves that Ehren Krueger holds NOTHING to Kevin Williamson.

'Grease' has got all the elements of a fantastic musical - stunning choreography, hilarious humour, and impressive singing - all rolled into one explosive (and really addictive) film

'Good Boy!' is in all essentials just another childrens' flick, with no real respectability, however the elements of humour and imagination are strong enough to buff it up to a relatively average piece of work.

It may seem more like a prolonged episode than anything else, but it is both way more funny as well as serious, resulting in a great first film for 'The Simpsons'. Both fans (and some who aren't) will adore this movie.

This film isn't just another children's classic, the excitement, adventure, and hilariously eccentric character of Dory turns it into the exhilarating and visually dazzling film that is 'Finding Nemo'.

This fantastic sequel keeps to the original film's sense of humor, scariness, and psychological excitement which is a rare aspect in horror sequels. This film does not prolong the scariness to the degree that the original did, but it has most certainly remained as funny and intriguing as ever.

Funny, scary, and original, Scream can officially be considered one of the best horrors and thrillers. The opening scene is particularly scary, the character of Randy provides the film's intriguing self-awareness, and it is refreshing to see a horror movie which has a killer that can actually be killed.

After spending 6 movies of keeping the film within the same boundaries over and over, this prelude delivers slick animation, plot exploration, and war-like action that all give the audience the sensation of stretching your spine after getting out of bed.

Adam Sandler and Chris Rock use their own expertise in comedy to inject a fair few laughs into this amusing (and, at one point, sad) flick. It will appeal to footballers and comedy-lovers alike.

There are good bits and there are bad bits, but this not-too-bad movie (that's been made extremely soon after the original) has good laughs and likeable characters to make this remake a success in its own right.

It's bizarre, but this didn't really FEEL like Harry Potter. It's quite lucky that the film manages to blend mystery, comedy, and romantic general life issues together without being a total failure - much like the book.

High on special effects and much more spooky, funny and mature than the two previous films, but the direction seems to be a lot more lazy than the other films. This has resulted in my least favourite in the whole series (this far)
