I completed the game last week after playing for 3 weeks nonstop, got all shrines and sidequests complete (but not seeds/armors upgrades/photos), just like I did with BOTW. I'm a huge Zelda fan and completed all games in the series, I had the same opinion as I often read about BOTW, it's an amazing open world game filled with content, but a very poor Zelda game. I hate how people praised the "you can do anything in any order" part, that's exactly what makes it stray away from the formula. You are supposed to unlock unique items in a specific order to gain abilities and unlock harder sections of the map, that's what makes a Zelda game a Zelda game. I also hated like most the weapon destruction, and the stamina/climbing that while it helped with locomotion, it was painfully slow and long and padded the playtime with annoying moments doing nothing but waiting. Nevertheless, I enjoyed pretty much everything else. Come TOTK, I initially got a bad first impression when they showcased it with a construction aspect. I hate construction games, if I wanted to do so I would play Sim Cities or Minecraft or online survival games, not a single player Action RPG. But fortunately, it ended up being not bad at all. The fact that pieces are limited and break after a while restrict it to smaller sets and mostly to get past a simple puzzle, so I actually liked it. The new paragliding mechanic is great for faster locomotion too, but completely rendered the horses useless (never used one in the whole game except for quests). It also brings the same negative aspect as climbing that half of the gameplay time is spent teleporting to a tower, launching up and gliding toward the objective point, which get long and repetitively annoying with nothing happening. As far as the rest of gameplay elements go, there's absolutely nothing else, it's a complete copy/paste of the same game with no redeeming qualities that can explain the long development time, same engine, same graphics, same combats, same quest structure. I think they trolled us by making the weapons "decayed" and even easier to break. Instead of making longer more complex shrines, they just added even more! The depths seemed cool at first, and I loved the Yoga questline in there, but after it was done I realized it was just an empty mess. It's 10x bigger than it should have been and there's absolutely no reward for lighting it up, it seems like a big afterthought they didn't complete. "Just make the players run along in the dark for hours with no goal". But the part that disappointed me the most are the side quests. In every previous Zelda games, including BOTW, they were at least interesting to complete, always with some funny or clever aspects. In TOTK, they are just fillers, they are boring collectible or just going back and forth to places. I feel like they forced themselves to place references to every character of other games, even if it didn't fit in the story and the world, they put them there as an afterthought to fill in a checklist of references. That said, I still loved my time playing it, but I absolutely cannot agree with people saying it's the game of the year, it's just a downgrade to this marvelous series. I seriously hope Nintendo scraps the concept and reboots anew again for the next title.

Don't listen to the outrage mob of review bombers who think being a nice person is weak while being disrespectful somehow needs to be defended. I hate how social media propaganda shaped this breed of modern idiots hell bent on fighting for the wrong things. They claims to be against people uselessly complaining and interfering with game development while behaving 10x worse themselves, it's pretty childish and pathetic. Devs did a good thing by removing the content who shouldn't have been there in the first place. That being said, a game should be reviewed for the content, not the meta. Level design is the best I've seen since a while, and I've played pretty much all FPS game campaigns out there. Gameplay is fast and responsive and satisfying, just like the modern DOOM without the quick time events always breaking the pace. Game is pretty lengthy and keep consistent quality all way long. I just wish there was a bit more enemy diversity.

Not your average walking simulator. INFRA might not have enemies to kill, but it have a very different structure than most "walking simulator". There's no forced story to go through via sluggish walking while a narrator speak, collecting journal entries and audio logs. No, INFRA run on the Source engine, and have the fast running and jumping we love and never block the player from moving. It is also not completely safe, you can fall to your death, be poisoned, crushed by heavy machinery, and even explosions and flooding. What makes the game really strand out is, as the name implies, the infrastructures. I played several hundreds first person games in my life, and none have buildings that are as nice to walk in as INFRA. You have HUGE complex spanning over hundreds of kilometers where every single small rooms is filled with details that make it feel real. It does not look like video games rooms, it look like place you could actually go. Every support beam, every light fixture, every pipes have cuts in the walls. You have thousands of hand-drawn textures for every ads, graffiti and doodle scratched on the desks and walls, and they are all unique. Not only that, but the game is LONG. It's not like other indie first person games that can be completed in 2-3 hours running around the same house, this game you can just keep entering new rooms and environments for hours and it still keep going. From office complex, to sewers, to sawmill, water filtration plan, metro, restaurants, etc. The attention to details is marvelous. Another thing I like is the fact it never take the player for an idiot. There's no bright arrows with waypoints, you have to think how you would progress if you were stuck there in the real life. You have to crouch in tunnels, break things, repair machines, etc. All that without ever being too hard/impossible to find out. Unfortunately, it have a few flaws. The biggest one is the introduction room, the only place of the games you see humans, they look AWFUL. The voices are awful too. Makes a really bad first look impression for new players. The game also suffered from a lot of missing triggers that would prevent players from continuing, but every time a problem was reported in the forums, the devs would release an hotfix in the hours following. Very nice support, and the game is mostly flawless now. Thank you INFRA for making me feel in a real world, something I haven't felt since I played the first Half-Life, and giving me hope that it's still possible for AAA studios to make shooters with proper levels design, something that is rare nowadays.

Trials of the Blood Dragon

User ScoreDunge
Jun 17, 2016
The game is a more relaxed version of Trials. It is definitively easier to play (easier to stay on the bike, and you can die and still unlock the next level). Like in Far Cry Blood Dragon, there's some mini animated retro cutscenes between missions with a voluntarily totally illogical story-line and some just as cheesy (and funny) sentences. Levels are highly dynamic, everything falls and explode as you go, with some really psychedelic events happening all the time, playing on gravity, etc. They also keep throwing you in different vehicles, different environments and making you do new things so that you do not get bored of repeating the same thing over and over. They also added some shooting sections which add to the gameplay. Unfortunately, it is quite short (completed in 2 sittings) and not offering lot of replayability. It's not meant to be a challenging game with high scores and such, just an arcade style campaign that you can play through and go along for the ride. After having a blast completing the game, I go online to praise it and am really surprised to read that everybody hate it.

As other souls game, amazing level design, amazing bosses, amazing amount of different enemies and general content. Unlike DS2/BB, I did not encounter any difficult section where I got stuck, everything get completed pretty easily (not sure if I got better or if the game is easier, but it does feel easier). Did not encounter any crash (unlike other reviews here, playing version 1.04) Only reason I don't rate a perfect 10 is because of the awful convoluted NPC questlines that are hard to get right even following a guide. What were they thinking designing those?

Tried it yesterday hoping to get a fun evening of coop with my friend.. ended up disappointed. Maybe we just didn't understand the concept, but it's not really easy. First of all, the second player is forced to take a certain empty character, can't select his abilities like the first player, that really ****. It start strangely, tell you to go talk to a guy about a book, but he redirect you to somewhere else that I never found, and ended up saying **** the tutorial and went in the dungeon. Then you have a kind of riddle on a statue plaque and we were stuck for 5minutes trying to find out what to do until we realized we had to try to open the door simultaneously for it to open (ok, that's us being stupid, but still not very user friendly). Game itself was fun, fluid control and great animations and enemy design. Up until we realized we only have 3hearths (giving 6hit points), and that there's basically no health to be found anywhere. This could be okay in other game, but with the amount of bullet hell to dodge it's just too hard. Then you die, and you realize you don't restart at the previous room you completed, neither at the previous dungeon level, but at the complete start of the game. And unless I missed something, you don't seems to unlock anything that would make the next run easier... That's kinda what I always hated about roguelike games, and why I deleted it and said **** it.

So in this episode Telltale did what they are often criticized for: they made a choice matter. Instead of playing three mains areas as usual, you only play two, and the first one depend on the choice you made in the first episode. What is the result? An episode that is about half as long as usual, and that you don't see all content unless you play it twice. On a second note, the technical aspect is the worse of all product Telltale released yet. I've seen subtitles not matching the speech, the lipsync is seriously desync, and the language is now taken of the Windows locale instead of the game config. The story itself is okay, nothing great, nothing bad.

First of all, I have to say I absolutely LOVED The Stanley Parable. It had good humor, good level design, multiple path leading to interesting scenes and things for the player to find out. Now The Beginner's Guide is nothing of that. It's essentially about someone presenting you the "games" that his friend made. They aren't actually games, they are levels, well, part of levels,.. well a bunch of assets thew together and not being polished at all. That's the point of the game, saying that his friend have social anxiety and depression and that it reflected on his work making ugly inconsistent levels. Thing is, it never lead anywhere other than that, it does not try to convey a message or something. You just slowly advance through bad levels until you reach the end and the credit starts. It's absolutely boring and pointless.

First of all, I don't care about controversy, I rate the game for what it is, a game. Graphics are pretty good, not ugly and not gorgeous, just what you would expect. The black and white filter make things a bit hard to see something. The physics is probably the best thing about this game. The destruction engine when you throw explosives around it impressive. The objectives are rather simple (kill x people, kill people here), but still have some events. Game length is 7levels, which is acceptable. The biggest challenge of the game is managing your ammunitions (always short) and managing when to reload (that shotgun is too slow). People rating 0 because they think the game have nothing except controversy factor obviously did not play it. The shooting mechanism works perfectly, the cars are impresive in their handling. There's no apparent bugs and the performances/optimization is extremely good. Just edited my review after completing the game, the last few levels have an very good challenge and are very fun to play. The ending credit songs is awesome and just got them two extra points. Buy this game.

Nice levels, nice puzzles and challenge, pretty good game length. Still feel a bit simplistic and missing a bit of stuff compared to a few other titles of the genre in order to be rated higher. Technically missing lot of options in the game menus (multiple resolutions, mouse sensitivity, field of view), but fortunately all can be set via the unreal console. If you are interested by the genre, I recommend it. If you are looking for a high-end AAA game, no.

You basically take the concept of Telltale games and remove the portion that make it good (the scenario), and add completely random characters and events that are just out of context in the situation and you get this game. The game keep oscillating between a serious genre, a emotional genre and stoned nonsense humor so you aren't quite sure what's it is trying to aim for. The graphics are not so bad, but the thick black outline around the edges is really not helping it. The fight scenes and animations are great, the dialogues and minigames are just okay and the item collecting is just bad. The resource bars that limit the number of actions you can do is completely useless and just annoying, and the article clipping you collect are completely uninteresting.

Pretty good game in the vein of Portal and MagRunner. Graphics are very nice, performance are amazing and I completed the whole thing without seeing any bugs, just for that the game deserve a high rating. The level design are pretty great, the ambiance, environments and the story too. I find the game mechanics to be working perfectly. Unlike MagRunner it's easy to manipulate the game and not being stuck trying to find the right angle for hour. On the negative aspect, the game is way too short. Also, the fact that you can make choices that will impact the rest of the game without possibility of quicksaving or returning in previous levels to try the other choices is kinda bad. Since the game don't have a lot of content, it would have been better to make it a completely linear game instead of forcing the player to replay the whole thing just to see a few differences. Also, that Gamespot reviewer that gave it a score so low deserve to be fired.

The game start poorly. A very tedious stealth section followed by around 4 chapters with basically no scenario and no events, just boring concrete corridors with hundreds of enemies. It felt more like challenge maps than a proper campaign. But then, halfway through the game you finally get out of the castle, and suddenly the game becomes interesting. You meet some characters, there's some tangible objectives, environments get more diverse, you meet new enemies and even get a chapter with a different gameplay mechanism. Technically the game is still impressive. Looks and runs great. The only problem is the 60fps cap, and that's a shame because it would have been a great game to showcase 144hz monitors.

Lots of assets reused from AC3 and Black Flag too. But, the story is great, and the game have more than enough content to deserve being played. Coming to it after completing Unity, it's a major downgrade in quality. Unity is a much better game, for the movements and graphics, even with all the hate surrounding it.

Me and 2 of my friends bought the game due to high ratings and recommendation online and played a few hours (now at level 7). Lot of positive aspects. Graphics are quite nice. Gameplay is fluid with good framerate. Controls are responsive. Multiplayer aspect works perfectly (two were playing on the same console with me online). There's quite a nice range of diversified weapons and stratagems. On the other hand, the missions/objectives and map design **** hard. The kind of empty sandbox square map where you have the same mini-objectives (most of the time stay in position while a countdown goes on) placed randomly that get repeated over and over again from one mission to another. The enemies just spawn randomly indefinitely instead of being placed at strategic positions. I was expecting more fleshed out quests, you know with exploration, waypoints, events, bosses and such. After tonight, I don't expect the game to evolve much more than what I already saw. A bit disappointing and overrated for this reason.

Maps are filled with details and objects interaction are plenty. The story is still good and continue in the genre of TLJ with having tons of good lengthy dialogs. Voices acting is quite good too. Now for the bad parts. Optimization is not as good as other AAA games, but based on the fact they used Unity, just managing to get this quality out of that crappy engine is very good. The part I liked the less are the choices offered. Unlike the previous games, this time NONE of the choices represented what I would have said. Zoe passed from a logical thinking being to a girl with crazy (stupid) thoughts. Also did not like that "choice have consequence" aspect stolen from The Walking Dead, especially when it prevent you from seeing everything the game have to offers in one playthrough. Now you have to play the game twice to see all zones.

This is without a doubt the most beautiful game ever made. And not only beautiful, but detailed, animated and presented. Everything is dynamic, lighting is awesome, level design and architecture are perfect work of art. Running the game maxed out on a GTX970 is pure orgasm. The gameplay is admittedly simple, but still thigh and reactive. The shield wall formation portions are something new and very nice, but for the rest I agree it's missing some diversity. The finisher moves executions are probably the worst part of the game. While the animations are very nice and diverse, the slow-motion/stop others enemies from moving and press the correct corresponding color button get old very fast. This is the only reason why the game did not get 10/10. If this is a glance of what the future of video game is, things are looking quite bright ahead! I'm disappointed at the current low score this game have, gamers seriously don't know what's good for them.

Review from someone who did not play the old version, but who played tons of point&click. Great game in general. The HD remake portion is pretty good. New backgrounds and cutscenes are nicely detailed and the technology work great. 3D models are a bit low-res, but still good. Game length is fair. The story start a bit dull, but near the end it get really interesting. It is also pretty evident a female was the writer here based on some sentences. I encountered two places where I think it's impossible to think you need to do this without a guide, which is much less than the majority of p&c games, so it's good. I encountered few smalls bugs (Gabriel not pushing the dead professor out of his chair the first time I entered the room, the mummies animation not getting triggered and wondering why I was dead, journal hints stay active even after completion of objective), but it's nothing game breaking. Voice acting is the poorest point of this game. The narrator voice is seriously irritating and cringe-worthy. Gabriel was not really nice to hear too. (sorry devs). Still a very great game to play for others like me who did not play the original, or for big fans of the original who want to see it again.

Let's make these animations super-slow and long, and let's do that the enemy can spawn AND kill the player while he is locked in place and he can't do anything! He will die even if everything was safe before he started pressing the button!". Seriously, for this fact alone, **** that game. Also, this game is NOT hard. It's just luck-based. It's nice the first time you enter a room and see dolls around, but the 60th time you enter the same styled room it's annoying. Game feels exactly like Ether One, without the impossible puzzles. -Story: It takes a while, but when you actually manage to do something, the story is very well presented. Cons: -Total lack of instructions and player help. "This game is a narrative experience that does not hold your hand." I know some people might dig it, but it's really missing some hand holding. You can easily get lost and turn around in the forest for over 30minutes without encountering anything. The walking sections from one scene to another are wayy too long and there's no interactivity to be had. I would have loved to have some waypoint markers of just an objective telling me what the hell I'm supposed to be looking for. Same principle when you "touch" a body. It spawn a blue circle around it but it took me hours to understand you need to reproduce the crime scene before it does something. It really requires some kind of progress tracking of some sort. Too often you wonder if you found everything in this place and just need to go on or keep looking. The game is missing some sort of indication on what you completed and what you did not. -Savegame checkpoints are too spaced out. I completed a crime scene and quit the game only to reload and having lost about 1h of gameplay.

Nice free game, but not worth the score it currently have. Game contain two modes, the typical shmup and the platforming and they mix them in levels. It is fluid and well tweaked. Graphics could be much better for a PS4 title. I love the concept of obtaining all objectives on all levels independently, but it becomes quasi-impossible and very frustrating to obtain the perfect scores (especially the time limit aspect). I don't understand complaints about tutorial or hand holding, that's what the game does perfectly. A quick intro that can be completed in minutes and then the challenge start.

This game deserve a score of around 6, but since user reviewers are so stupid I'll compensate. No, this game is NOT a sequel to Sacred 1/2. It doesn't have free roaming, doesn't have inventory, doesn't have a complex leveling system and doesn't have any questing. It's a different game genre altogether. On the other hand, the game is quite good. Graphics are nice, everything is super smooth, I haven't seen any bugs. The combat gameplay is very good and satisfying. Boss battles are nice. There's enough different attacks pattern not to be bored. This is a game made to play using a gamepad and not keyboard/mouse combo like previous games. Is it also the best game released lately for LOCAL COOP. You can play with a friend as a brainless hack and slashing monsters and it's quite fun. Something that can't really happen in more complex games like the previous titles. One negative aspect are the dialogs. I never heard such bad sentence in a game. As if everything say was written by 12 year old girls.

As with any Piranha Bytes' games, tons of ultra bad reviews comes first from people who don't even try the game, but anyone that play it seriously count it amongst the best RPG out there. Very nice exploration / level design, very nice dialogues options and quest design. Combat and graphics are okay, nothing special but nothing too bad.

Considering I gave the PS3 version a 8/10 with the only negative aspect being that the console wasn't powerful enough to present this story properly, this is the version everyone was waiting for.

Good fun for about one hour... then it get repetitive. I played coop with my friend and we were like.. "that's all?". Always the same gameplay, they just spawn more monsters to keep things harder as you go.

This game is very good and people complaints are over-exaggerated. "It's just a GTA" JUST? Do you have any idea how complex is a game of this type? "It require DX10", damn, DX10 exist since 7years, are you just crazy not to have a card supporting it yet? "It's a console port", what makes it one? It play perfectly on my PC. The fact that you complain about it being a console port and about it requiring a high-end computer to run are quite contradictory. I love the game, and completed it to 100%. Nice story, nice map, nice action.

Feels like a downgrade over Sniper Elite V2. Graphics got some overhaul and that's it. The gameplay is still great, but it's exactly the same game. Level design are much worse. It's always the same kind of environment, and they give you a big area with a few houses and sniping tower. There's no concept of events in a mission except some more enemies spawning. The "Pont Du Fahs Airfield" was missing checkpoints, very bad design. The ending is very abrupt and not satisfying. I saw quite often enemy bodies flying in the air. One time I encountered an enemy in a ladder and he just went through me without even noticing me (no alarm). One time the objective marker did not even appear and I had to reload from last checkpoint to see it. Then the DLC **** 2 out of 5 guns (the best ones) in every categories are only available through DLC. If you don't have them you won't be able to play with them, and if you have you'll feel overpowered.

First two games were simply amazing, I gave them 9/10. This one? Seems like they asked a few interns to create a new game using the old engine. It still have the same good action, but with bugs, bad level design, a story that makes more or less sense and bad difficulty tweaks. The "loot box" thing is awful. The sound levels are broken (voice are too low, when you reduce the sfx some sounds don't reduce like grenades so it **** it up, cutscenes don't follow voice level).

Pro: Gameplay plays very differently than any other RPG games. Tons of different monsters and items. Level design is awesome with tons of secret areas and small events at every corners. Game is very very long. Cons: Most rooms are just plain square rooms with a single brick texture tiled everywhere and a wood floor. Barely no story. Not enough information available in-game (REQUIRE an online guide to play and to make any decision on items to use and path to follow)

The game is good enough to complete without getting too bored, but it's not competing with the big titles. The game is very atmospheric. They managed to create very beautiful scenes if the graphic engine is not up-to-date. The story is quite interesting, but spaced out too much with long moments without new events. The platforming gameplay is ok. A game to try, but not pay full price.

I don't understand how this game series get scores so high. It's bad, just plain bad. I love usual point&click adventure games, but this isn't one. The dialogues are just people speaking rubbish sentences that don't even make sense. There's no plot at all except that you have to find a "route" and you encounter people in the scenes. No puzzles, no nothing. The graphics are great for when you enter a new scenes but that's about it. I was wondering how a game could invest so much in these scenes transition animations without having a game in itself.

Very nice production values, nice cinematics, nice voice acting, animations and story. Unfortunately, there's barely no game. It's simply look at every rooms and collect everything that flashes. Most of the collectables are not even interesting and don't give anything when you get them all. The very few scenes with danger with the demons are more annoying than anything else. A game very good to watch only the cutscenes on Youtube. Don't waste your time completing it to 100% like I did.
