Wonderful game! A healthy mix of Dead Cells and Diablo. Even though it has rogue-like elements, you never lose your progress after each dungeon run, and every time you die, another chapter in the story is revealed. Incredibly well done-- if you are looking for an ARPG to scratch the Diablo/Path of Exile itch, this came is for you.

An absolutely brilliant game with an original idea that improves every time you play. Being a goose that terrorizes a village was never so entertaining. Each item on the goose's checklist acts like a small puzzle that can be figured out in various ways. You can finish the game in 5 hours, but after you beat it the first time, a whole new checklist opens up. For 20$, this is the best time you'll ever have. Immense fun! I hope there will be more.

There is so much game in this game. The story mode alone has 100 levels-- but a word of caution: I recommend getting the online bundle version of this game. If you do not have Nintendo Online, you will not be able to access some of the content. Other than that, this is probably the only 2D Mario you will ever need. It has every tool, every option, every setting, every brick, every level in 2D Marrio's history (including 3D world). Multiplayer, co-op, free for all-- the game has something for everyone, players and level creators alike. Highly recommended.

Excellent game all around. Incredible soundtrack, endless gameplay, additive rewards system-- even if you don't like Crypt of the Necrodancer, you will love this. If you're not great at rhythm games, you can turn on fixed beat mode, and the game becomes a turn-based strategy RPG with killer tunes. Once you're done with the main story, the game unlocks new characters and abilities, and the whole map is randomized so you can play again afresh. Highly recommended!

For the price, this classic is a steal. Played it on PS3 originally, and got the HD remaster on PC. Glad to have this on my Switch. Great for all RPG fans and even Monster Hunter fans (because of how you have to approach and prepare for boss fights). No performance problems on my side. Highly recommended.

This game was such a surprise. I didn't expect it to be this good. Unlike the previous Wonderboy titles, Monster Boy, while a sequel, is an entirely different style of game. It's more of a metroidvania RPG with puzzle platforming. The animation is superb, the combat and magic systems are intuitive and multi-layerd, and despite the cute visuals, the game is sufficiently challenging. Highly recommended.

One of the best platformers in the modern era. A game that starts off like Ninja Gaiden and becomes Castlevania through the use of new and clever game mechanics. A real treat for those who want a retro-style game with excellent level design and an innovative ability scale.

Sekiro meets Hot Line Miami. Although the game's systems revolve around the one-shot-one-kill mechanic, there is plenty of variety in the action and combat. The levels are absolutely thrilling, the story is great, and you can adjust all the games settings to your liking. Highly recommended.

For an old school Tenchu fan like me, this is the game I was waiting for. For veteran SoulsBorn fans, it might take time to learn the new combat system, but once you master it, you will feel like a god. You can pause, you can swim, you can jump, and while you have more freedom of exploration and movement than ever, the combat's steep learning curve can really punish you early in the game.- The progression is cruel, but fair and extremely satisfying. It is admittedly a hard game, but if you stick with it, you will love it.

I dislike writing reviews like this, but in this case, I cannot but warn people not to buy this game. This game is not finished; it's a loading simulator. I spent more time looking at loading screens and having disconnection issues than I did playing the game-- and when I did get to play, there was no content. The hub is empty, the characters are poorly done, the multiplayer aspects do not work because quests are not shared. It feels as though they tried to make Diablo and slap Warframe on top of it. I gave Bioware grace after Inquisition, because it was a poorly done open-world RPG, and I gave the same quarter after Andromeda, but this game has been in development for seven years. Seven years. At the cost of the developers who probably worked very hard on this. Seven years, for a loading simulator. Hudson lied and needs to step down.

It's Shadow of the Colossus meets Horizon. An absolutely breathtaking endeavour with a steep learning curve. If you are put off by open-world games, give this one a try. The beginning area is difficult, but if you hang on, you will be richly rewarded. A generation definer, and a benchmark for the Zelda series.

The best Mario since 64. While I loved Paper Mario and Mario Sunshine, Odyssey has such creativity and imagination-- you can be everything from a zipper, to a tree, to a t-rex, etc. The worlds are varied and all interesting, the secrets and puzzle platforming is endless, and even after you finish the game, there are more worlds and modes to play. This game is an absolute joy. Essential for the Switch.

The classic gameplay with exquisitely done animation and graphics. Highly recommended for those who played the trilogy back in the day and for anyone who wants to get into the trilogy now. Perfect production all around!

If you enjoyed Dragon Quest 8 as much as I have over the years, this is the game you have been waiting for. DQ11 takes everything that was great from 8 and expands on it: new ability system, updated combat that works like the Gambit system from FF12, a horse mount that runs at blinding speed, platforming in towns, updated alchemy system, updated saving system-- in short, it's a wonderful game, an old school JRPG with immense charm and many improved features. If you enjoy JRPGS, this must go on your shelf.

My favourite MH handheld entry. So many quests and events, a great choice of towns and environments, great crafting system and palico management. Everything that I wanted out of a Monster Hunter. Takes a while to get used to the controls, but once you find your weapon, you're going to have a great time. Highly recommended for fans of the series.

Brilliant game. I have never seen a puzzler so perfectly done. You can finish the whole game in about 2 hours, but it is well worth your time.

Phenomenal title. The game marries exploration, item crafting, hunts and boss battles in only the satisfying way that Monster Hunter can do. World gets rid of a lot of the smaller item crafting in favour of more armour and weapon sets, and while you have your palico to hunt with you, all the micromanaging of skills and abilities has been removed in favour of focusing on the story and multiplayer combat. As a longtime fan of the Monster Hunter series, I highly recommend World. It can be a little daunting for first-time players, but if you go through all the tutorials, spend time to find the weapon you like best, and get to know how the different quest hubs work, you're going to really enjoy it.

A short but excellent game about what it is like to live with psychosis. Beautiful graphics, challenging puzzles, gorgeous execution. Highly recommended.

Very interesting title. As an archaeological researcher with a passion for the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods, I really appreciated this game on several levels. Proto-indo-European was recreated just for the use of the game (with several regional variations too), and the developers really did try to get everything as close to Mesolithic Central Europe as possible (a few mistakes, but a worthy and much appreciated effort!). Historical bits aside, this is an excellent game. I can understand why fans of the regular Far Cry series might be a bit disappointed-- there are no guns and you have to find the story yourself-- but the game stands alone as a valued edition to the Far Cry family. The game is still in first person, there is still a gathering and crafting system, still open-world exploration, but the game really is just you, fire, your axe, and your bow. The game plays more like an RPG than it does an adventure game: there are levels and skills, points and ability trees, there's a home base and a party system or sorts, and there's beastmastery, which allows you to tame animals and use their abilities in combat. Overall, a highly enjoyable title. I don't know if you'll enjoy it if you like Far Cry 3/4, but if you enjoy action RPGs like Horizon, I recommend Primal to you.

I waited until I finished the original game and all the DLC content to write this review, and I can say with serious assurance, this is one of the best RPGs I have ever played. Excellent story, meaningful and unique sidequests, great crafting system, wonderful and memorable characters, exquisite landscapes-- goes on my shelf as one of the best games of all time. Amazing how just ten years ago, Witcher 1 started as a decent RPG and has flourished into the masterpiece it is now. Very well done, CD Projekt. Cannot wait for the next game. Highly recommended for any gamer.

The ten year prophecy has come true-- The Last Guardian is finally here. Haven't finished it yet, but if you like Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, don't think twice, just buy the game. A true exhibition of the artistic merit of games and the emotional response they can evince.

An excellent installment in the series. While I do recommend watching the Kingsglaive film and the Brotherhood series to get a bit more out of the story, the game itself is excellent. It feels very much like FF12 with a bit of the Kingdom Hearts 2 battle system mixed in. The magic and warp strikes take some time getting used to, but the combat is very intuitive and quite fluid. This game was certainly worth the wait.

A lovely mix of BC and Wrath. If you're a veteran player like I am, you'll really enjoy it. Places like Highmountain and Stormheim have the feeling of Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord, and all the Demon Hunter backstory with Illidan is spectacular. The different beginnings for all the classes so far are excellent (the Death Knight one really stands out), and the artifact system and class halls are a nice touch. 10 hours in, and I'm getting those old school vibes.

A wonderful game for children that teaches them about friendship and bullying. Excellent narrative (with a few spelling and grammar errors) woven into satisfying gameplay. A really nice title from the Papo Y Yo creators.

True to the old style of gamebook gaming while adding an action battle element-- and the story is so exquisitely written. Well worth the asking price.

Sensational. Just sensational. An enormous game of earned triumph. The lore is fantastic, the world is eery and terrifying, the enemies are repulsive and ingenious, the gameplay is crushing and rewarding. A grand mix of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls together in a game that is certainly the best in the series.

Sensational game. I don't know why I skipped it when it first came out, but I'm so glad I discovered it. It's like playing Harvest Moon, Pokemon, and Zelda at once. I don't think I have seen an RPG this involved in a long time: you can do everything from item crafting to cooking, have countless weapons and spells, have multiple relationships, take any character into your dungeon party--and it has a good story with multiple endings. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great JPRG or Action RPG.

Classic Fable. If you loved Lost Chapters, then this is for you. It's the remake that the series deserves, and it's hours of enjoyment from beginning to end. if you're coming into the series for the first time, then this is a great place to start.

In no other game can you run around as a pirate elf bludgeoning people with a tentacle bat while listening to the soothing sounds of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. This game has everything, from car-jacking to German-suplexing to hulk-jumping to flower-picking. The story is ridiculous and hilarious, the combat is fantastic, and the level progression goes from minor thug to Superman. This game is brilliant and just excessively fun.

Vanillaware gold. Gorgeous art, beautiful music, excellent gameplay-- for folks who remember the days of arcade hack-n-slash-fests like Gauntlet, and even for people who love the more modern interpretations like Castle Crashers. All the charm of Odin's Sphere with extremely satisfying beat 'em up gameplay. The added old school DM style narration is excellent, and the shamelessness of the cheesecake and beefcake men and women is always entertaining.

Even better than I remembered it. The same platforming genius, the same mechanics, the same music, simply with better sprites. The added story elements, all done in the style of the TV show with even some of the same voice actors, shows that this game was remade with love. Highly recommended for old school awesomeness.

Classic Sly. The gameplay, the characters, the charm-- nothing has changed. It's nice to see that Sony is keeping up with their best platformer franchise in a time when Crash, Jak, and Ratchet have been somewhat forgone. If you loved Sly 2 and 3 as I did, then this game is for you. Highly recommended for fans of platformer, stealth, and open-world gameplay.

Once I figured out how to get out of the first room, the game was excellent. Lovely style, wonderful puzzles, engaging storytelling-- an extremely unique game. Highly recommended for Portal fans or for anyone interested in the First-person puzzle genre.

Like playing DQ8 all over again, but even better. Such an excellent game. Nice story, balanced battle system, open-world exploration, and classic JRPG feeling (and the option for original Japanese voice acting is always a plus). Highly recommended for every JRPG aficionado.

A really nice hack-n-slash game that introduces the Fable franchise to children. It borrows levels and enemies from all the Fable titles and allows those too young for the regular series to enjoy the world of Albion. The game has a lot of charm: the minigames. the ability board, the puppet theatre, the adorable art, the collectable characters, the chicken kicking all serve to make the game highly enjoyable, and the ability to transfer gold to Fable =: The Journey was a nice add-on. Recommended for children 6-10, or to those who just enjoy a good hack-n-slash.

Since I did not have a Kinect before I purchased this game, I wanted to be sure that the game was worth the 100$ for the apparatus itself (plus the 30$ for the game). I love all the Fable titles, but considering that this game is a Kinect exclusive, I did research before investing. I watched about 45 mins of gameplay and decided I would take the plunge. I was absolutely not disappointed. No, this is not a typical Fable game. Yes, you can only play as a mage. No, there are no towns or open-world quests. Yes, there are RPG elements with regard to upgrading your horse's abilities, your spells, and your stats. Yes, certain segments of the game are on a rail, but this game- not once- is ever tedious or boring. The storytelling is fabulous and links all the previous games to make what really is a 15-hour epilogue of the entire trilogy, at the end of which you feel as though you have really accomplished something. The attachment you gain with your horse, the new parts of Albion, and all the characters in the game in general are as irreplaceable as the gameplay. I didn't think I was going to do well at the no-controller controls, but after about 20 mins of driving the cart and learning how to use the spells, I was enjoying myself immensely. Was the game worth the 130$ I paid to play it (without giving away spoilers)? Absolutely, especially when you consider how many games there are that are 80$ asking price for about 1/4th of the fun. Is it challenging? Yes, it is, and not in a frustrating way. Would I recommend it for people who don't like motion games? Yes, I would. Would I recommend it to Fable fans? Yes, I do, but don't expect another Fable 3; expect a different style game that simply takes place in Albion and cleans up all the questions left over from the third game. I also enjoyed the tie-ins with Fable Heroes, which only added to the game's charms and replayability. Arcade Mode makes sure you get that exploration craving squelched, and all the new spells and aftertouches, the humorous dialogue, and unique setting serve to fill up the blank in RPGs around this year. If there were such a category as rail-RPG, this would certainly be the pinnacle. I can understand why many would not want to buy a Kinect just for this- it is expensive, and for those who cannot make the investment, I hope there will be a compatible version soon (even I would want that just to see how the gameplay would differ), but I found the venture more than worth it. Overall, a really satisfying and unique experience. The best game for the Kinect, to be sure.

Not the greatest RPG ever, but certainly a good one. I loved The Bard's Tale, and I admit I bought this game because InExile was responsible for its development. I certainly was not disappointed: the same humour (albeit a little darker at times), the game fun gameplay, the same enjoyable battles. I admit that I enjoyed playing as the female character more, but that's only because I enjoyed the bow mechanics. I would have preferred a little more on the exploration front, but the linear aspects of the game didn't stop me from enjoying it.

My favourite of all the Fable titles. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, even if the social aspect was a bit lacking at first. i enjoyed the Albion metamorphosis and I really liked their take on the Bowerstone Industrial Revolution. Excellent sense of humour, fun battles, and of course the freedom to be good or bad and go and do whatever you like. Lighthearted and just all-around enjoyable.

No, this is not a typical Res game, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The chief of the complaints are about the QTEs, which normally I don't like, but I didn't feel that they were show-stoppers in any respect since the player isn't really punished for choosing the wrong button. There were a few QTEs in Res4, which is my favourite of the series, and those didn't mar my playing experience either. This Res plays out more like a mix of 5 and a co-op shooter. I really appreciated the fact that the AI could be better controlled and is more helpful than it was in 5. The buddy-revival system is nice, though I don't always get to my partner in time. The weapon system I found was well-thought out: cycling through the weapons with the D-pad was much easier than equipping only two guns and pressing start just to get to the grenades. Overall, I enjoyed it, just as a survival-horror game, not as a Res game. I enjoyed it better than I did 5, but not as much as 4.

One of my recent favourites. I bought this when it came out on the PS3 and I could not wait to get this edition. A lot of the frame rate issues were fixed, content was added, PvP was improved-- overall, for 40$ this is a steal.

An excellent action adventure game that has the flavour of Castlevania SOTN meets Zelda. Many people could not endure the giant's voice, but I found him friendly and adorable. The exploration in the world is fantastic, the fairy tale like story is very nice, the mix of stealth and puzzle-platforming really makes the game interesting. The two endings make for excellent re-play value. A great game for a teen audience.

Excellent game about a child who retreats into his mind to save his sister from child abuse while trying to reconcile with his father. This game does well to capture the psychological aspect of one person's personal struggle with domestic violence. Although the game needs a little polishing, the puzzles and mechanics are fantastic. The world is unique and interesting, the characters are memorable, and the story is poignant. Think of Journey meets Psychonauts with a darker feeling. The music, though having little to do with the gameplay, is some of the best I've heard in a game. If you are expecting guns and mindless violence, look elsewhere, but if you want to play a game that will make you feel something, this game is certainly worth a good play-through.
