I really enjoyed the first two games in this series and played both of them twice all the way through. I rarely write good or bad reviews unless I have a good reason. I almost gave this game a 1/10. I have two gigantic problems with this game. First, the inexusable load times. It takes 4 minutes to boot up and about 40 seconds to reload a quick save. I can live with 40 seconds to a point, but when I trip, fall and die and have to reload the game, well, I don't want to be constantly staring at a loading screen. Second, the game is littered with glitches--the worst of which--the game freezes and has to be reloaded--that's 4 more minutes of staring at the screen. And it happened far too often. The game has been out an entire year--inexusable. The story is passable, the gameplay actually works well enough (although I didn't like the sniper scope) and the graphics and sound are fine. There are some boring but skippable dialogue parts, so that's forgivable. The upgrade system is nice and I liked the crafting. People complaining about running out of resources need to simply play smarter. This is a survival game that rewards smart choices. I liked the scarce resources; it made the game challenging. However, the open world aspect felt kind of unecessary, and could be a bit boring. The missions were fun, I have to admit. If the game didn't freeze and if the load times were significantly faster I would probably give the game an 8.5/10 based off of what I played. Got pretty deep into the Caspian area before I quit. I found some upgrades for my sniper rifle and the game froze every time I tried to install them. In conclusion, the game is unplayable for me in it's current state. There is a good game hidden in there somewhere, but the frustration of long load times and glitches forces me to give the game a very generous 4/10. What a bummer.

Jurassic Park: The Game

I just bought this game a week or so ago, because there was a psn flash sale and it only set me back 80 cents. I like all of the telltale games, but was reluctant to get Jurassic Park because of the mixed reviews. Well, I have no stake in this argument between fans who claimed telltale created fake accounts or whatever. I am rating the game strictly on the experience I had. 4/03/15 a little late I know. I liked the graphics and have no idea what people are whining about when they say the graphics leave something to be desired. And I loved the game. What's not to like? Anyone who has played and liked Back to the Future, Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, Tales from Borderlands will like this game. The story, action, characters and the..wait for **** graphics are awesome. It does justice to the movie, and felt a lot like Game of Thrones in that I felt I was part of a story I was familiar with, albeit in a parallel sort of way. In other words, this story's events parallel the events of the first movie. The basic premise is you get to play new characters that are directly involved with the events of the first movie, and I do not want to get into more detail, because it would spoil things. All of the set pieces, vehicles, locations were excellent, because of the attention to detail the developers gave to the game. The quick time events are exciting and the trophies are relatively easy to obtain. If you never gave this game a try, or are itching to play a story based game, and if any of this review is resonating with you, pick this up as soon as you can.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I have been playing video games all of my life. Every once in a while a game comes along that consumes me. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is one of the best video game experiences you will ever have if you are willing to explore it's hidden depth. It's a well known fact that this game is a little difficult to describe in terms of what makes it so fantastic, so I thought I would try to describe it a little differently than most people in the hope of attracting more people to this wonderful game. Running my town as Mayor to me is similar to running a business, without ever worrying about failing. You have to work hard for your money and spend it creatively on your town. Earning money in this game is addicting in the way mining is in Mine Craft or Terraria. It's addicting in the way leveling up in an RPG can be. Before you know it, you will be compelled to earn big money on those evenings on the island, catching rare bugs. The compulsion to earn money is insane. Who would have guessed that Fishing and Bug catching could be so addictive? Every town will look different and expressing your style and wealth is one of the most satisfying aspects to a game that I have ever had. Your town will continue to evolve, and more and more building options and public work projects become available. Each of the buildings and their upgrades adds new facets to your virtual life. From the incredible amount of customizations to your house, to the insane amount of items, to the equally insane amount of quirky wardrobes; each aesthetic choice can be reflection of your own creativity or you can simply use the themes readily available if you are not feeling creative. I built a movie theater in my house, with surround sound speakers, arcades, candy machines and one of those crane machines you find at any theater. It is my pride and joy. I built a park in my town and it's beautiful. It's one of those games that I think about as soon as I wake up. What's for sale at all of the numerous stores on main street? What events are taking place? What's happening in my virtual alternate life? There is always something happening in your town. Females beware, this game was definitely designed to appeal to your inner shopper. Yes, there is a shoe store and it's inventory changes daily as with all of the stores. In a day when almost all of the major game announcements involve guns and violence, Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the diametric opposite of those experiences. It's a laid back and incredibly relaxing game. Take it at your own pace, and just chill out. Sometimes I watch TV, while playing Animal Crossing, and that is one of my favorite things to do now. I have put over 150 hours into the game since launch and I imagine I will put two thousand in by the time it is all said and done. If this appeals to you in any way, go out and buy this game. The social features are fantastic, and the community is very helpful. If you do not have a 3DS, it's about time you bought one. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is Nintendo's new killer app.

I'm not going to make this long because this is an older game. First the bad. This game is massively overrated. There isn't a single original idea to be found throughout the entire experience. Combine, Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, a touch of the Mummy and a shoddy Gears of War cover and shoot mechanic and you have Uncharted in a nutshell. Now that wouldn't be so bad (I happen to like those movies and games), but the game really suffers when all you basically do is fight endless droves of enemies in sequences, which are occasionally broken up to platform around, hear some story and repeat (it gets old). And there isn't a single moment in the experience when I'm not reminded that I'm playing a game. I died constantly in the gunfights and it became a trial and error affair to continue. Now the good. I do like the characters, story, graphics and sound. And the shooting aspect isn't bad, it's just not as refined and intuitive as Gears of War. The game is just a shade better than the sum of it's parts and over all I give it a 8. Not a bad game, but certainly not worthy all of the 9's and 10's it's been getting. The potential for greatness is there for sure, so I will attempt to play Uncharted 2, as there's plenty of room for improvement.

A Good , but not great game. I got it on sale for 5 bucks so I'm not too disappointed. The game play is solid, the level are fun, colorful and hectic, the story has a sort of bizarre charm to it, but there are a couple of key components that really turn me off. The game requires you replay missions on higher difficulties just to unlock missions 4 and 5 (which are the last two levels). And even though I made it to the end, the last mission is so difficult, it isn't very fun. That would be completely forgivable if the store feature was actually worth the trouble. Basically you earn money that is used to pay for things like extra ships and bonus challenges. A great idea in concept, but the last two ships you unlock are pure crap! I don't mind the short length of the game and I actually enjoyed the challenge (the final mission excluded) so it makes me want to hit my fist against my desk when a game with so much potential falls short. With a few minor fixes this game is a 9/10. None the less, the ship I did use was great fun and the levels are hard core, so if you don't think the above mentioned negatives will bother you, buy this game.

Breath of Death VII: The Beginning

It is very easy to summarize what this game is all about. Homage to the SNES era of RPG'S. Breath of Death VII is simply a homage to the classics. It's very witty and very well written parody that at times left me laughing out loud. The combat is familiar yet just different enough to keep things fresh. Leveling up is fast and easy, and your skills can be picked through a simple branching mechanic. It's not going to change the way we see RPG's, but if you miss the old days of SNES RPG's, then it's simple no brainer to pick this up. I got Breath of Death VII and Cthulu Saves the World for a total of $3 on steam. Totally worth every penny.

Don't listen to the bad reviews. If you really want to know what your getting into IGN gives a perfect review as far as describing what this game is all about. To me it's a mixture of Castlevania, Mine-Craft and Monster Hunter. I couldn't figure out what to do at first and I died a lot the first few hours. But once I checked the Wiki page and got use to the controls I never looked back. You mine for resources and use those resources to build things like shelter, swords, armor, light sabers, guns and grappling hooks which are used for exploring, fighting monsters (bosses included), and conquering crazy environments and dungeons. This game is as addictive as crack and has consumed me like few games have in the past. Just Awesome! And it also supports online multiplayer Yay!

FAST - Racing League

I've read some of the mixed reviews, so I thought I'd offer my two cents. First off this is a solid game. Good graphics, good controls (I prefer using a classic controller), good level design (12 tracks), decent music, three difficulty settings and enough bonus challenges to keep the average gamer busy. The best thing about this game is the switching between white and black to get boosts. If you see a black boost strip, turn black and watch your racer blaze at fast speeds. It goes the same with white strips. There are also magnetic white or black ceiling strips which can be used as convenient short cuts. Each time you turn either black or white it costs you one point of energy. If you use a manual boost it costs you five points of energy. You start each track with five points of energy and you can gain up to ten by finding energy cells which are spread across every track strategically. Finding the perfect balance between changing colors and using a manual boost can be challenging and requires some tactical thinking. Be warned that this is a challenging game, but practice makes perfect. The only negatives for me were that the computer doesn't make very many mistakes when you race against it, so if you get behind it is extremely difficult to catch up, especially at higher difficulties. And there is no online racing mode which would have been awesome, but you can play the game with four player split screen. Still, the game was well worth the ten bucks I spent.
