This film is two things: a touching tribute to Broadway and quite forgettable. There are very few surprises here, and the portrayal of Stephen Sondheim as a near god-like figure comes off as comically over-the-top. However, a flexing performance by Andrew Garfield and solid direction from Lin-Manuel Miranda combine to make an otherwise mundane plot into something worth watching.

Although it may wade into cliches at times, impressive performances by Will Smith and Aunjanue Ellis make this a more than enjoyable watch. Taking on themes atypical of traditional sports films, King Richard proves to be an original entry into a crowded genre.

Slightly disappointing. A typically solid performance by an ensemble cast and Wes Anderson’s trademark style kept my interest but it never quite reaches the sum of its parts. It does stand as a nice tribute to journalism and the power of storytelling, though I felt the stories presented could use something more.

Stunning visuals and one of Hans Zimmer’s best scores pair together to bring to life an incredible sci-fi epic. Chalamet does well in his first blockbuster role and is supported by a solid cast. Should be seen on the big screen.

Powerful performances by Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst paired with a unique western tale and gorgeous cinematography featuring the vast western landscape make for an incredible new take on a classic genre. The slow-burn plot demands a second viewing.
