I'm struggling to finish the season!! Being a huge fan of the series and a teenager of the 80s, I followed ST since the beginning, filled with a load of nostalgia. But this season is different. Something is drastically different in the writing. Don't know what changed, but my experience with tv series showed me that only a leaving writer, can have such a negative impact. Anyway, I must and will finish it but the series' ending season is a sad disappointment.
It took me three days to watch the first episode, in three struggling parts. The reason was boredom. Very slow, childish approach to the Alien mythos. Very good scenery and effects could not hold my interest for too long. Another "remake" failure
Dear Disney producers and writers. Stop killing SW in the name of a modern agenda, whatever it is. Get your creativity running, create a new scifi world of your own and see if you've got what it takes. The show is a big zero and a laugh on SW saga. Avoid
I'm stuck in episode 1. Tried in vain to watch it for 5-6 times now and I can say that I finally understand why Cavill left the show. It's a generic mix of silly drama, romance, women empowerment, with a few inputs from the Witcher saga, to justify the brand name. 1 point -as always- for Cavill, who tries his best, but it can't suffice within this doomed tv writer's hell.
Being a PC gamer, I haven't played the game. So, without any previous knowledge, I've watched an excellent tv show, with well developed characters, pretty cool effects and a story that keeps me wanting for more. A big plus on the absence of constrained political correctness. Congrats on a job well done
Sandman along with Lucifer and Constantine, are in my top favorite comics. The TV show wasn't bad. Nice graphics and images and pretty good adaptation of the original story, with some slight alterations. I was ok with Lucifer's female depiction, but I was disappointed with Constantine's appearance as a female witch. I mean, not every male character has to change into a female one, in order to follow modern political correctness. I really hope they do NOT make a Constantine tv show, with a female protagonist. The episode with the cats, was the best one.
I enjoyed the Cyberpunk 2077 game and the anime brought back all my good memories of Night City, along with a fresh new story. Great characters, great animation and plenty of cyberphychosis. Please give it another season!!!
From plantation owner, Louis became a brothel pimp. His journey sure was an unsuccessful one, exactly like this adaptation of Anne Rice's great vampire horror books. Lesson (not) learned is : Do not mess with the original concept.
Definitely Not Tolkien. Galadriel is closer to Marvel's/DC's superheroes. The whole Middle Earth mythos is **** and killed. If it was named "The legendary adventures of Suzan" I would give it a 5/10. 1 point for special fx
Slow, filled with unnecessary content, lacks soul and wit and drifts too far away from the original story. I keep wondering why tv writers believe they can write better than the original authors.
Johanna Constantine, a lesbian witch... Really? That's what the writers came up with and Gaiman agreed on it? Another tv show, made with total disregard to the original concept. Nice effects and acting was decent. If you are totally unfamiliar with it, read the comic. It's way better (I hope they aren't preparing a tv show with Johanna Constantine. It will be ridiculous)
Jordan is spinning in his grave, at the speed of light!! All of his story, characters, world, mystery and magic are destroyed in just the first few minutes of the first episode. After that it's just butchery. Gave me a good reason though, to re-read the books. One point for all those people, who sat in front of their computers and created some nice CGI. The rest is garbage.
One more great book sacrificed on the altar of political correctness, diversity and had to become a TV, easily digestible product. Moiraine heard a rumor, about some 20 year olds who could be the Dragon? Egwene was pushed from a rock, 50 meters high, down a river, in order to get her womanhood approval? Moiraine enters the inn, serpent ring on hand and everyone recognizes her and immediately calls her Moiraine Sedai?? etc, etc, etc... One point for CGI, the rest is unwatchable. Shame on using the "Wheel of Time" brand.
Asimov was a world renowned writer and Foundation is a sci-fi masterpiece he wrote. You can't just loosely "base" a tv show and write a generic scenario on such important basis. Either you stick to the original and keep the name, or you create something else and give it a new identity. Neither wasn't the case here and that's why I couldn't watch more than 10 minutes of this show.
If I'd have to choose one tv show, with a pandemic related theme, this would be it. Dark humor, subtle (or not) references to pandemic situations, political satire, hope in our humanity AND a strong dose of zombies. My personal favorite, the delivery guy.
As a big Stephen King fan and reader, I have watched The Stand (of 90s) many times. This modern version... just couldn't convince me. Great production and actors and everything, but as someone mentioned before me, it lacks soul. Forget remakes, they rarely catch up with the original.
With the emphasis given to the human element and behavior, it (unfortunately for me) became a boring tv drama with a slice of horror. If you're looking for monsters or supernatural horror, look elsewhere.
I watched this show from the beginning, mainly because I was a big fan of the comic. After realizing that it was a "based on" work and a small disappointment due to that, I easily got hooked. Clever writing, nice acting and characters, good production and directing and Tom Ellis playing the piano and singing. I hope for plenty of seasons to come. And thanks to NETFLIX for saving the show and giving it a fresh breath !!!
Long time Luci fan here. I loved this season, for character depiction and clever episode writing. The Diablo and the 40s were extraordinarily good. Great ending left me wanting. Keep up the good work!!
I loved the book, but I don't feel the same about the show. TV writers had to do it again(possibly following HBO's directives to comply with anti-racism, feminism and modern political agendas). Removed stuff, added stuff and created an unspeakable monstrosity from beyond (just to keep a lovecraftian tone). If you like Lovecraft's work, buy this nice book and read it, but avoid the show...

Removed stuff, added stuff and created an unspeakable monstrosity from beyond (just to give a lovecraftian note). Dear writers, if you have such brilliant ideas, why don't you write your own novel/book and just let other people's work alone. Nice music though.
I started watching this with extreme skepticism, as I'm not into dark and gloomy existential shows. I was wrong. Even though it is a bit dark on the surface, it uses an extremely clever and witty writing to bring up life, love, hope and joy. Congrats on all the people involved in it's creation.
Ignore the zeros; they come from people who don't like political satire. The show is funny and relaxing, with good acting, directing and production. It has the potential for a much better second season.
Season 3 lost everything that made S01 and S02 exceptional. The dark horror atmosphere. the superb acting, the captivating story. All missing. S03 is just an LA, anti-racist, love story, with some supernatural touches. Not enough for me.
Not as good as season 1. Nice production and cyberpunk atmosphere, but lacked in story and acting. With such abrupt changes between seasons, I always get the feeling that the show's writers changed. It's a shame, because the 1st season was very promising.
What a wonderful Star Trek series !! I was very skeptical, because of it's predecessor, but thank God, I decided to watch it. It restored my trust to tv writers, who managed to capture Star Trek's essence and spirit and transfer it to a modern series. Sir Patrick Stewart is an absolute pleasure to watch and an epic actor, true to the ancient greek definition of "ethopoios" (one who creates ethos for the audience). Starfleet directives remain the same and Picard made sure of it.
Congratulations BBC. Excellent is a one word description for all the aspects of this show : Writing; the adaptation perfectly follows but doesn't copy the classic story, dialogues are smart and sharp. Casting; superb acting from everyone. Directing, photography; Gothic atmosphere is captured and depicted. Even the -fashionable- diversity is not forced, but nicely blended in. After Hammer's Christopher Lee, I didn't expect to find another Dracula worth of my time, but I'm glad I was proven wrong. Netflix, please give the Witcher to BBC for a reboot.
TV writers never fail to disappoint me. They always manage to take prime material and transform it to sh...t. All main characters' stories are twisted beyond recognition and chronically mixed together. Geralt's adventures, which take 20 and more pages in a book, are shortened to half an episode's duration, resulting in incomprehensible stories. The medieval epoch is polluted with modern phrases. The bard's songs have rock'n'roll riffs. The elves live in caves instead of their forests. Etc,etc. 1 point for Henry Cavill, his acting and his honest and apparent efforts to stay loyal to Geralt of Rivia. The rest get a zero.

I remember renting the VHS tapes of the original Creepshow and watching them with my family and friends. Well, this show felt like meeting an old pal, that time hasn't aged at all, but in the contrary, was made even better. I enjoyed every horror story and every moment of it. I hope there are many more seasons coming.

The show is a cross between psychological thriller and horror and it delivers on both aspects. Gave me the creeps, without using splatter or extreme violence. Well directed, shot and acted, it's a favorite for this winter. Special congratulations for Michael Emerson's acting, which created a villain to remember.

I've read the comic, saw the movie and expected something in the general direction of those two. Unfortunately, the TV show is just a well directed anti-racist drama, in an alternative 2019, with a predictable and overplayed scenario. Not interesting at all, it won't keep me past the first episode.

How would superheroes act, if they actually existed in real life ? Marvel and DC usually show their poetic versions, but this show goes deeply in the human psyche and shows a cruel and dark reality. Excellently written (adapted), directed, shot, and acted. A must for all superhero (adult) fans.

A very good production, sfx and steam punk atmosphere, doomed by an overdose of political correctness, cliche anti racism and feminist awareness. Orlando is a bit bored and that's exactly how I felt, after the first episode.

Saw the first episode. Boring. Out of curiosity, I've read the book's first chapter, then the second, then the third, etc, etc, until it was finished. My questions are : "Where is the humor and the fun ? Why did you butcher a perfectly entertaining and interesting story and produced another TV drama ?". It seems that after all, the real Grafters, are the TV writers and producers, responsible for the show.
Plenty of horror moments in a dark and atmospheric swamp. Nice effects with a tribute to "The Thing", good photography. Acting is the weak part of the show, starting with the leading female character and following with the rest. I don't know if it's the director's fault, the writing or they're just bored, but they should really work harder. The show is ok, but it can get much much better.
I've only watched the 1st episode. If the rest change my mind, I'll give it another rating. I am disappointed by the lack of everything that defined Black Mirror so far. Every previous episode, left me thinking about it. This one had no essence, no spirit. The writing was mediocre and it is obvious in every minute.
If I could, I would give this show a 12 out of 10. It was an excellent adaptation of the book. Great work of everyone involved, including actors, director and of course the writers. It captured the essence of the story and I think it payed a worthy tribute to Terry Pratchett.
Only watched the first episode so far. Luci is back, playing his piano in the opening scene and doing his thing. The final scene left a promise for a very good 4th season. Thank you Netflix for adopting our show !!
Darker second season is a plus for me. Overstretching the feminist agenda and women power is a minus. I mean, "teenage witch" is by definition a feminist theme, so why did the writers have to create a whole season around the oppressing patriarchy, blah, blah, blah. Loved the atmosphere, acting and directing.
Darkest black humor, with a good dose of irony and a few buckets of blood and splatter... What more can you ask ? I loved the film and was skeptical about the show, but for once, TV writing kept up with the previous standards (and in some cases it is even better). Excellent work
The books are a solid 10, while the TV adaptation is a 1. The reasons ? Political correctness and TV writers. The homeless guy became a love story, the villain Babcock became a beautiful blonde lady with sexual appetites, the little girl with the special abilities, became just a simple sweet little girl, etc, etc. One more failed TV adaptation **** book. If you've read the book, stay away. If not, I guess you can watch it.
Sorry, but it didn't work for me. Even though the "groundhog day" concept is appealing, I got bored from the first episode. Didn't like the characters, got tired from the dialogues and did not laugh at all.
