With its many mechanical similarities to Gothic by Piranha bytes, Kingdom Come Deliverance can be a bit frustrating piece of wood (weird animations, quite ugly character models, textures often not loading, objects teleporting, characters disappearing, bugs when fighting, glitched story missions). However I must admit that if this game hasn't sold well it would be titled the underappreciated gem. Historical accuracy is its very strong side, setting is also unique. While not in cutscenes, it can be really immersive. I've heard that exactly what I'm criticizing has been redesigned in the sequel, which I look forward to checking myself. 7/10
Unique as well as profound combat system makes Divinity OS truly remarkable experience. The first few hours are really tough. There are several systems to learn, but it is worth it - you get rewarded with damn satisfying power progression as you understand it more. Great game 8/10
One of the most charming games I ever played, score and vibe are phenomenal. My playthrough reminded me of my first experiences with reading fantasy books. Dragon Quest XI is ingenious in its simplicity. Unfortunately third act is significantly worse than previous ones. 9-/10
Excellent blend of exploring and action makes Aria of Sorrow addicting as hell. Thanks for the souls system slaying monsters is even more fun. Having GBA these days must have been wonderful. 9-/10
Fresh take on showcasing war showing its brutal side instead of heroic. Gunplay feels right, especially instant kills by headshots. However checkpoints sometimes aren't placed well resulting in repeating sometimes long sections because one enemy would be hidden completely behind a cover with XM, eliminating us without time to react. 6+/10
There's only a few pioneers of their genre in the video game industry which hold up great until today, "The Secret of Monkey Island" is one of them. 8/10
Challenging and well-paced speedruning cyber-ninja sim. Story is pretty interesting, however plot twist at the end is obvious. Satisfaction after landing perfect sequence in difficult encounter is on par with best of its kind. Solid 7/10.
Very solid, short puzzle game with amazing writing as well as introduction to Portal 2. Maybe Cake at the end was a lie, but real "Cake" was the last sequence concluding our abusive relationship with supercomputer. 7+/10
Short but free (even without microtransactions) really fun coop tactical top-down shooter. It runs on source engine and has great re-play potential. I look forward to playing sequel. 7-/10
It's the same case as with the Half-Life 1, first hours with the game are phenomenal but the deeper you go the more its age exposes. Physics are not as revolutionary as years ago, obsolete loading screens as well as strange movement irritating in platforming sequences disrupted my enjoyment. Nevetheless it is a title worth trying out and i can't deny its impact on industry. Get at least to the Ravenholm chapter! 8--/10
Price is way too high for what you get, very simple RTS with an average fight enjoyment. Population cap is an annoying factor, there is not enough units to hold the bases. Objectives in chapters are sometimes a bit random. Overall Realms of Ruin is a decent game and you can find some enjoyment through the campaign.
A hidden gem with revolutionary combat system, memorable bosses and decent graphics. It's a must play for dark fantasy fans. Great sword & sorcery game, it's a shame that barbarian character isn't named Conan.
Addicting as well as immersive life sim dungeon crawler jRPG. Friendships you make through the story seem incredibly "real". Main protagonist can be mirrored yourself, which I strongly appreciate. Town of Inaba despite its small size is charming, also school events were superb comic relief. BGM's are phenomenal, PERSONAlly I anticipate that "Heartbeat, Heartbreak" or "Heaven" may become classics. All in all, it's work of art.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of the bad news but Half Life hasn't aged well. Over two decades ago Goldsource may have been astonishing, although now game feels genuinly clunky. However the first half of it certainly can be enjoyable, can't say that about the second half. Score is increased, as it was indeed revolutionary.
In current form it's unplayable; tons of bugs, bullet registration works like servers were on let's say 16 tickrate, no new maps, they even deleted some previous ones alongside with game modes. Of course, there are also good changes. New smokes work in interesting way, graphics are way prettier. Situation is similiar like with launch of CS:GO, so probably in few next years it will become enjoyable, for now it looks like raw beta version.
It takes what's best from Burnout and Destruction Derby. Driving physics may seem a bit rusty today, but in 2005 were impressive. It built a very solid fundaments for an astonishing sequel, which improved literally everything. Nevertheless, first FlatOut is buggy and unfair from time to time.
My expectations were just too high. It's a decent remake, although it lacks few elements of the original game, which made it legendary. Worth to mention is the PS4 version graphics are not delightful.
Atmospheric slasher, consequently testing your limits. On higher difficulties Vermintide shows its true form. On the other hand, smashing mouse button for an hour straight can be fatiguing.
