One Punch Man’s Season 3 opener is a classic season premiere slow start, and whilst the back half seeds intrigue, the episode isn’t dynamic enough to hook new or lapsed fans. Here’s hoping that the punches and punchlines hit thick and fast next week.

For new viewers or those who have lost interest in the series over the years, this season may not be enough to reel you in if the first episode is any indication. But hey, we still are charmed enough by the series to hope that One-Punch Man: Season 3 ultimately proves us wrong and ends up being a total knockout.

You have found my *One Punch Man* review after all this time. Let me guess—you want to know what all the fuss is about with *One Punch Man*, and if it’s really worth watching. Well, I am here to rate *One Punch Man* completely fairly, and if anyone—including Metacritic—disagrees and deems my process or final rating for all seasons false, incorrect, or lacking, they can One Punch themselves back to reality. I will be comparing every season starting from Season 1 all the way to Season 3, as I have watched all episodes and paid great attention to details such as the animation, story, plot, art, content, **and more content** that make up the soul of this anime. So let’s begin. ### SEASON 1:This is possibly one of the greatest anime ever created. From the music, characterisation, animation, art, pacing, and overall quality, this season is the benchmark—one that would ultimately spell the doom of the later seasons to come. Madhouse out did itselfs and truly showed the power of why anime, in the modern era of film and television, will always be superior. I would like to personally say thank you to all members of Madhouse who made this season, because to this day it still shines—even on rewatch. Each episode is clearly tailor-made to include a short story that is part of a larger universe. Jokes, incredible animation, music, and more all come together to sell the *One Punch Man* universe—not just once, but across multiple rewatches. Even in 2025, I come back to this season just for the glorious animation, action, and humour.**10/10 – Utterly spectacular. ### SEASON 2:This season, muttered by fans to be “bad,” was actually something I found myself invested in on first watch. The story and characters were engaging, and while the animation was inferior to Season 1, it made up for it in the action **** Staff had a mountain to climb, and honestly, they did the best they could—not resulting in something average, but something aboveaveragee
Why? Because the quality of *One Punch Man* was still retained here, especially during its action scenes. 8/10 – Lacks animation and flow, but makes up for it with some epic action and impressive directing, which really shows what anime should strive for at its bare minimum. ### SEASON 3:This season is possibly the worst thing my eyes have ever witnessed. Firstly, the animation is below any acceptable animation standard—so much so that you might as well just read the manga. And no, unfortunately, not even the action scenes save this season, because they are not directed well at all. There are no smear frames, no camera shaking or effects—just still frames, no substance, and filters… a lot of filters.
The only episode that manages to be good enough is S03 EP 8. Aside from that, the Child Emperor's fight was ruined. The Orochi fight? Yes, good—but it could have been animated far better. There are no elements here that can save this season, nor this anime, not even the music or the very clean art. **3/10 – I am being very generous here.**Why such a low score? Let me list why:* - Censorship* - Bad, inconsistent animation* - Over 25% of content cut* - Misuse of music and sound effects* - Lack of passion (you could’ve had some fun Saitama scenes while he was gone for 70% of the season)* - Retconned content that makes literally no sense* - Art/animation errors* - Plot pacing issues and poor episode time allocation Yeah—quite a lot. And all of this is consistent throughouteveryy episode. ### FINAL SCORE: Let’s do some quick math:(10 + 8 + 3) / 30 × 100 = **70**That means from Season 1 to Season 3, I would rate the entire *One Punch Man* TV series a **70/100**, or a ****** remember—I do consider the audience in my ratings, and since Season 3 was woefully inferior, I will have to subtract 1 point.**Hence, *One Punch Man: The TV Series* is a 6/10.**Season 1 was masterfully crafted.Season 2 was a great follow-up. Season 3 was an ultimately poor misfire after a very long 6-year wait. I will be back to update this whenSeason 4 arrives in 2027, and I only pray that JC Staff pull in a Miracle beyond anything possible. But what should they do to fix Season 3?
They need to go back and add those frames, fix up the animation errors, add actual music and effect sounds that are synced properly, then maybe yeah, Season 3 might just be Decent. As for now, I know what's coming. Miracles in this industry rarely happen
Season 4 is about to be a continuation of Bad Product. I'm asking God either to Smite Bandai Namco or somehow give JC Staff the power to endure Hell, and produce an anime beyond what they did in Season 2. I'm so incredibly sad to rate this Show so low, but I do recommendseason 1 and 2.
Season 3, I recommend you wait until it's fixed or Season 4 comes out to be somewhat satisfied. Review over, I will be back...

Season 1 of One Punch Man is outstanding—clever satire, strong pacing, and humor that pokes fun at superhero and anime tropes while still delivering great action. Season 2 wasn’t quite as strong but remained entertaining and worth watching. Season 3, however, feels like the moment the series “jumps the shark.” The story leans heavily on familiar tropes, the pacing drags, and the sharp humor that made the first season memorable is mostly absent. While longtime fans may still want to see where the story goes, the shift in tone and execution makes Season 3 feel like a clear step down from what made the series special.

Worst season by far. They barely show Saitama in the serie. I get that the story doesn't only revolve about saitama but also to the side characters, but showing saitama 1 min. per episode is just not acceptable. You guys might aswell change the title and main character. Season 3 is so dissappointing.
