Fallout 43

This game is a flat warm coke. It looks like coke, it has the same ingredients, but it tastes horrible. 3 stars for entertainment value. It's different, its fun, and its entertaining. However; its buggy, broken, and terribly supported (1 patch since release two months ago and DLCs are already being touted before another patch). No more money from me, Bethesda. Not until you make a Fallout game, because that's not what this is.

Star Wars Battlefront2

Nothing new here, just a rant like anyone else. The game is beautiful, it sounds amazing, you feel immersed in the universe... its amazing. However, that's where the enjoyment stops. They've basically turned Battlefront into Call of Duty with this release with no ammo management and respawning "power ups". Vehicles are completely random, so no way to control the battle. Random spawns instead of tactical spawns. You can spawn on a randomly assigned or grouped up buddy (pre game), but no squads. No combat lines, everything is blurred. Get ready for some spawn kills. Games aren't balanced to put levels close to each other; so you might spawn in front of someone with high level at starting levels and so on. Not a lot of fun once you get past how pretty it looks. Controls are all over the place and not well tuned for PC gamers. You have to spend a lot of time trying to make sure the controls respond correctly to your mouse sensitivity or you might be moving so quick in a vehicle that you can't really do anything productive. Hate to rate this so low, but its just not a good entertaining game past the first 15 minutes of play. The solo missions are pretty shallow. The multiplayer is a COD fest. If you like COD, you might like this game. I stopped playing COD a very long time ago because I didn't like the style. Too bad I can't get a refund on this game.

MechWarrior Online3

Great graphics, some fun. Totally unbalanced and the more the devs attempt to balance the worse they make the game. Introducing mechs out of date order (after specifically stating they would be doing it timeline accurate), complete disregard of table top rules (after specifically stating they would develop to TT rules), introducing chassis variants that don't exist and are abusive, and consistently ignoring the user community complaining about these issues. Do not invest in this game unless your willing to deal with an arcadish version of MechWarrior. You want a faithful game conversion, look to any other product. Even the terrible versions of Mech Warrior from Microsoft did better than this game. Devs are constantly investing heavily in customization gear that you pay for instead of correcting game bugs. PGI is more concerned with generating revenue and less about making a good game.

GRID 20

Absolutely terrible game. Grid 1 is a far superior product. Graphics are the only thing worth while in this game, the rest is garbage. Save yourself some money and wait for a good sale for around $5 at tops because that's all its worth. Go back to playing Grid 1 or any other racing game, because they are definitely better than this.

Warlock: Master of the Arcane3

Not sure where people are coming from or if we are even playing the same game... Just bought this game after playing the demo on Steam for $20. Not worth it, maybe worth $5 for all content including the paid DLC released on game release date. Simply put, this looks and plays very much like a CIV V clone in a fantasy genre. This is no where near as polished as CIV though. Graphics look nice, management of resources can be a pain, no in game encyclopedia to explain things, AI cheats... A LOT, random monsters appear on your city doorsteps all the time, no stacking of units, and combat system is mediocre at best. After several hours of play, I have found almost no use for gathering large amounts of $ in game to buy off builds faster. Had this been a more polished game, specially with key command shortcuts to make ease of use better, I would rate this higher. Audio is acceptable, you have the same narrator as with all the Majestic games with his silly Sean Connery accent (which was funny the first game, and boring by now), the "tutorial" in this game is a joke. Its good for a quick CIV like Fantasy sim game, but definitely not worth more than $5 with everything included. Oh the DLC adds uber units which you can customize a hero to inherit which literally nukes the opposition most of the time, way to overpowered.

I'll break it down
Multiplayer = 1
Single player = 2
Graphics = 5
Sound = 5
Difficutly = 2 Single player is barely acceptable. The game play is extremely forced and controlled outside of the users ability to improvise. If this game was aiming for realism as I seem to understand everyone keeps suggesting, they failed miserably. In real life, the world is open and all of the world is usable, not just what's scripted and confined to alleviate the need to actually write a good product. Plot is almost none existent. Multiplayer... where to start. Every time you die, you must reselect your class and select to spawn. Seriously? Can't let the person just respawn and enable a key to allow the user to change things when the user wants to change? You have to make them choose every time? lame...
Team balancing... does not exist. If for some reason people leave on one side, the game never rebalances them. Spawn killing, galore. In some maps, never expect to move more than 2 feet from your spawn. Stat padding, this game specifically rewards persons who stat pad. What I mean is, if I can get more points than the other, then I can keep you pushed down in the ground. Literally, see spawn killing. Nothing like spawning into a mortar, rocket, or missile strike over and over and over again, which the person ordering the attacks gets rewarded with even more points for the kills, to repeat similar actions again and again. There is absolutely no voice chat in this game. if you want to talk to people, find a server with vent maybe? Dunno, since there's almost no information about any servers you might join. No way to see your ping or anything else like that. Currently the server browser capability seems to be broken, so you can't look for games. Friends do not map back to steam. You have to add them individually on your own, and both sides have to do it. Two different launchers for the product. Seriously? You'll have to reconfigure your settings for each version of the game (single player and multi). There is no leaning in multiplayer as there is in single player. Don't bind keys to cycle your weapons up or down, as the cycles does not loop; so once you've cycled down all the way, you have to cycle up all the way to get to the other end of its spectrum. Overall this game is very lacking in design and ingenuity. If there is a plot, its so shallow that not even a baby could drown in it. Buyers regret will probably sink in about 10 minutes into playing this game. Avoid this game if at all possible. Do not waste your time nor money.
