The twist at the end of episode one is so good that I could not wait to dive into episode two. This is your new binge-watch. It bowls along with supreme confidence.

Though “How to Get to Heaven from Belfast” is ostensibly a murder mystery, it often feels more like a buddy comedy. I enjoyed the twists of Greta’s story—especially the deadpan ferociousness of Bronagh Gallagher, who plays a mysterious and violent woman inexplicably tailing the group—but I could have done without some of the more bizarre turns in the later episodes. I kept coming back to the show instead for its bleakly funny portrait of middle-aged friendship.

Brilliant storytelling. This is funny and sad all at once, refusing to play to tired mystery tropes and instead centering on hopefulness in moving past trauma. At some times, too frentic, but overall the pace, tone and daffiness made for a compelling watch.

Funny, bizarre and intelligent. Feels as if the Derry Girls found themselves in a season of Fargo.

Some of the richness in How to Get to Heaven from Belfast can get lost in the intentional chaos and misdirection, while some of its tantalizing specificity may be generally lost on American viewers simply looking for a wild whodunit. But when the cast is this exceptional and the dialogue has this much manic crackle, whatever you take from the series ought to be enough.

Bonkers but brilliant. It’s a real treat to see a writer having this much fun.

This is a show that rewards your patience in bucketloads. Twist after twist unfolds effortlessly, building into a proper odyssey that spans Belfast, Donegal, Dublin, Derry and even Portugal.

How To Get To Heaven From Belfast remains immensely watchable because of McGee’s clear grasp on the long-lasting impact of tight-knit female friendships, particularly those formed during adolescence.

Just when you worry this madcap mystery might lose its way, the three standout leads pull you back in as they joke and bicker their way through Lisa McGee's unhinged follow-up to Derry Girls.

Some series pull you in almost effortlessly, and this is one of them. From the start it mixes sharp humor with a mystery that slowly unfolds in the background. It never tries to be a major thriller, but it keeps things interesting while focusing on its characters.Much of the charm comes from the relationship between the three central friends. The story plays with that mixture of affection, frustration and shared memories that appears when old friends reunite after many years. In many ways, that dynamic matters more than the mystery **** script delivers several genuinely funny moments, with quick dialogue and a very Irish sense of humor that fits the tone perfectly. At times the plot can feel a bit convoluted, but the series never loses its light and entertaining **** setting also plays an important role. Belfast and the surrounding landscapes add personality and atmosphere, almost becoming a character of their own. That local flavor helps the show stand out from many recent comedies.Overall, it’s an entertaining mix of comedy, mystery and drama. Not everything lands perfectly, but the series clearly cares about its characters and the world they **** the end it leaves a simple impression: it’s fun, distinctive and very easy to watch. It may not reinvent television, but its humor and character chemistry make it easy to enjoy.

A fun romp through Ireland and a couple of overseas destinations by three women of a certain age who attempt to solve a mystery about one of their childhood friends.

Cringy, full of plot holes and random filler. Main characters have a decent chemistry but that's all it had going for it in my opinion.

Terrible person did terrible things, but it's okay because they were abused. Here's a fun challenge if you actually do plan to watch this, imagine every character as the opposite gender and see if it changes your opinion on the writing. Anyway 3 points for the three main characters chemistry because they were actually pretty funny together. The actor playing Liam also did an awesome job with what he was given.
