GitS: 2045 is what happens when you throw all the money at the animators and leave the scraps for the writers. I can't help but feel like this series is falling backward.

Animation, story, dialog and decisions made by the characters all make this feel like a (bad) RPG that never got released but turned into a game play video instead. I kept expecting dialog choices to pop up on screen. I gave this a 2 for the dub cast, who doesn't ****, but that's about the only thing. Many reviews say this is the worst iteration of the franchise, but it's even worse than that. Most likely you won't get through more than a couple episodes before bailing.

Cette nouvelle série Stand Alone Complex a fait peau neuve ! en effet, GITS est passé enfin et intégralement à l’image de synthèse ! tant d’années après Appleseed qui lui en a bénéficié bien plus tôt… et GITS restait le parent pauvre, délaissé de l’évolution technologique… pour une franchise aussi cyberpunk que GITS, ça fait…. ça faisait désordre ! D’un rendu très lisse mais qui fait (et c’est l’avantage) très dessin animé ou plutot manga animé et même si on peut s’étonner que le Major ressemble à une poupée (une très jolie poupée cyborg !) ça reste indéniablement réussi. Et si agréable à regarder en matière d’animation, de mise en scène, de montage, de cadrage et tutti quanti : tellement mieux que la vieille 2D toute pourrie ! Et qu’importe, si ça pouvait être mieux (évidemment) vu que ça reste une série et que -surtout- ça fait oublier totalement la technique surannée de toutes les autres productions GITS (même si elles furent… et restent excellentes en dépit de leurs tares techniques). D’autant que si le Major semble plus juvénile, elle est plus fidèle aux canons très sexués du manga original de Shirow : Kusanagi a en effet toujours été une bombasse très sophistiquée et sa modélisation 3D lui rend ici un brin hommage (et justice). Mais parlons de la série en tant que telle qui appelle évidemment une suite à l’issue du 12ème et dernier épisode (vivement !). De l’eau a un peu passé sous les ponts et l’on retrouve nos principaux protagnistes de nouveau embarqués dans une machination diabolique et toujours éminemment politique. On y retrouve aussi la parano anti-américaine typiquement japonaise (et fidèle à cet égard aux idées… et aux complots du mangaka Shirow). Le rythme de l’intrigue reste très élevé sauf lors des deux derniers épisodes qui marquent un peu trop le pas ; on note comme de coutume dans les SAC, un sacré sac de noeuds parfois à suivre mais sensiblement moins tiré par les cheveux qu’auparavant. La VF est d’excellente qualité et se révèle très agréable, les scènes d’action sont spectaculaires et fort bien faites, hormis néanmoins quelques accrocs ici ou là (une caméra trop nerveuse ou un montage hâtif). Un très bon bilan donc, en attendant la prochaine saison.

La animación es 3D se siente muerta, el Cgi es malo, los personajes apenas muestran gestos faciales, los efectos especiales y las escenas de lucha carecen de espectacularidad, la historia es medianamente entretenida, el opening es un asco ( y te lo dice una persona que jamás se salta el opening de un anime), ah y no hay que olvidar que ahora la Mayor Kusanagi es una feminista empoderada que no duda en sancionar “micromachismos”, como si la Mayor tuviera la necesidad de demostrarles a otros lo fuerte que es. En fin, otro asqueroso y nada respetuoso intento americano de entrar al mundo del anime, y contaminarlo con ideas progres. Si quieres pasar el rato te recomiendo que te vas de nuevo las primeras series en ves de ver esta.

I didn't think the CGI was as bad as other reviewers - but there were plenty of other things to let it down such as the childish feel which wasn't present in the earlier series. I get the feeling it was dumbed down a lot to appeal to a more general audience (many of the earlier iterations were quite difficult to follow in places with a complex but rewarding story)

Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045 es el nuevo intento de entrar en el mundo del anime por parte de Netflix, y al menos en esta ocasión no es un destrozo como otras. Pero tampoco se puede decir que sea una maravilla. Primero, se nota demasiado la influencia americana, empezando por un opening que es prácticamente un insulto de lo malo que es. Luego, el pasarse completamente a la animación 3D hace que en muchos puntos se vea peor y con menos gracia que Stand Alone Complex, no hablemos ya de los animes originales. Y la inclusión de un personaje kawaii en forma de chica de pelo rosa sobra tanto y está metida tan a calzador, que dan arcadas. Pero dicho todo lo malo, en el interior hay algunas buenas ideas, otras malas ideas que medio arreglan (la idea de la guerra sostenible es absurda) y algunas referencias a otras series y contenidos más interesantes (como 1984, o un rip-off descarado de un capítulo de Black Mirror)... e incluso tienen un capítulo muy interesante en el banco. El resultado es que no es un insulto como la adaptación cinematográfica, pero sin duda es lo peor que se ha hecho de Ghost in the Shell hasta el momento. Está bien para matar el rato, pero tampoco para mucho más.

There are glimpses of the old soul of the series, but they're buried under so many changes for the worse. The most obvious is right in your face in the cheap looking 3D animation. The excellent music of the past is also conspicuously absent (wtf were they thinking with that intro?). Tonally the show is a bit more like its old self, but marred somewhat by cartoonish, cliche, or ridiculous new characters and scenes that feel completely out of place in this universe. The writing similarly feels more true in spirit but lacks structure and coherence. It appears as though we're only halfway through a proper first season. I doubt we'll see much improvement in the second half to come, but if any more follows after then hopefully it comes with a bigger budget and more room to put some of the craft and dignity back in the series. What we have so far is altogether mediocre.

It's very difficult to get past the aesthetic of the show. I don't know how they made a 'post-apocalyptic' world look and feel so sterile. It has no grit or mood. There are some character changes that I don't think benefit the show (Batou's selfless kamakaze scream as he laughs like a psychopath when being shot at is an example). Drawn out fights with insignificant characters annoyed me. A gang they encounter wear football uniforms like "The Baseball Furies" in The Warriors lol. There's lots of terribly corny action scenes, which means there's less time for intellectual story in their 20 minute episodes. Your hand is held the entire way. To describe it as a mashup, it's GitS x Avengers in the art style of **** a Discount Clone Wars...

the 3d animation was so awful, it almost looked fake. looks like some novice animator worked on this.

Lastimosamente, esta hecho para atraer a un publico joven. Las voces originales le dan vida, pero si eres nuevo y quieres iniciarte en el mundo GITS, la saga no se parecera en nada a lo visto aqui, ademas de los personajes. Lo peor es la animacion CGI, dificil de digerir si tienes años siendo fan.

The writing and voice acting are the only redeeming aspects of this season. But it's still not enough to save it.. The presentation is very poor. Bad character designs, horrible CGI, backgrounds and weird animation. Also the lack of Yoko Kanno's score is another insult to the SAC series. This was not the return GITS SAC deserves. Please go back to beautiful 2D hand drawn animation and Yoko Kanno's music.
