Excellent show. It represents a significant but well-integrated expansion of the Alien universe. The Hybrids are a fascinating choice of direction, yet a very logical one.

This show is an absolute letdown. So many unnecessary scenes and plots which nobody cares about. And then its more about the synthetics than the Aliens themselves, they should have called the series Synths: Earth. I only give it 1 point because of the effects, but this was such a waste of time and I really see this as a personal attack on an Alien fan like me and a disgrace to the Alien Franchise. Its like the Author Noah Hawley just quickly rushed through the Alien movies and make a quick buck, completely disregarding the buildup of tension which made Alien so great. Every scene in Alien was great and necessary, 95% of scenes in this series "look great" but say nothing, meaningless.

I would give the highest negative review as possible. This is the worst piece of putrid garbage, pus, vomit that I ever watched in my whole life. HYPER WOKE CANCEROUS PIECE OF ENTERTAINMENT. It made my blood boil. AN ALIEN PET? THE PERSON WHO WROTE THIS SCRIPT SHOULD BE PROHIBITED AND BANNED FROM PUBLISHING ANYTHING ELSE. This surpassed the whole sense of RIDICULOUSNESS!

Well, bad reviews are right, yet at the same time Alien Earth does stand out nowadays amidst 95% braindead shows. Like Alien Romulus, it's obviously heavily AI assisted. A blend of various materials, with some random aesthetic elements to make it look like art (cherry tree in a room, spaceship embedded in a building etc). Ofc there are huge coherence gaps. But overall it's a pretty refreshing new form of tvshow. I liked that the alien is just an actor in a suit, to contrast with all the cgi, and also that there is absolutely no humanity in this show, only a bunch of differently tooled monsters fighting for dominance. Very watchable

Nul ...

Billionaires ARE all inherently evil, in reality, and in the show. I dont understand the negative reviews that have a gripe with that fact. Billionaires are the biggest scourge of our world and should not exist, everyone with half a brain knows that. The show itself is very solid, great atmosphere, albeit some unrealistic scenes here and there, especially inconsistencies in how the xenomorphs let some characters get away.

Now this is how you revitalize an iconic brand. More engaging than 'Romulus.' You gotta respect Noah Hawley for taking a big swing with this. Looking forward to season 2.

Pathetic show. Pathetic story. The characters make ridiculous, nonsense decisions. Only the actors and directing escape this disaster. This is clearly a show for low IQ teenagers, not for most sci-fi fans. Disney is a disgrace nowadays and turns everything into garbage.

Read the Critic Reviews that gave Alien Earth a 100. Read them close. It’s so painfully obvious that they are AI written. Disney must have paid someone off. Do not believe the AI generated hype when it comes to Alien Earth! I love Alien and Aliens and I enjoy the rest. Even the terrible AvP movies, but this tv show is pure uncut garbage. I find it hard to believe Noah Hawley had anything to do with this show. He must have been on drugs or something. Almost every aspect of it is sub-par. Some of the special effects are ok. The set design for parts of it is good, but the script, the plot, the dialog, the pacing, the characters, the acting, all of it is so bad I’m mystified as to why people think it’s so great. I am not a conspiracy theory kind of guy, but there’s something going on here. If you don’t believe me, watch it. The show just gets worse and worse with each episode and every scene. It’s one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen. It’s not just a bad addition to the Alien franchise, … it’s not just bad SciFi… it’s a bad TV show period. If you appreciate intelligent SciFi & horror and/or a fan of Alien & Aliens… skip this mess and save yourself the agony!

Big fan of the Alien franchise, specially 1st and 2nd, less on the 3rd and 4th movies. Also really liked how Ridley Scott expanded the story with the universe of Prometheus and Covenant. Alien Romulus, I liked but was more like a back to the formula of aliens attacking people, but with a younger cast. That being said, I really enjoyed Alien Earth, because it expands on the lore and universe. The xenomorph is not the main point of the story, but an add on a much bigger and important story with topics like life and death, enterprises greedy and non ethical business decisions, human future, life outside earth, etc. In my opinion it has a lot of positives, but definitevely some low points which i would understand for a xenomorph fanatic looking for the classic alien movies would be very dissapointing. Not for me though. Great series, hopefully we get a season 2.

I am so tired of all these billion-dollar companies telling the same message. As an Asian man in a third-world country, I don't need you to tell me a white billionaire is the evil guy. There is no nuance or depth to the message at that. You have all the potential and freedom to have something either scary and/or philosophical, and all they got is rich white man bad and highly invasive parasitical apex predator good? You can't have an alien movie without horror, thriller, suspense, and danger.

Very high production value but the show is completely ruined by incredibly stupid characters. Wendy is terrible. Hermit is terrible. Slightly is the worst character and actor of them all. Nibs also ****. Their inclusionmade the show worse in every single way.

The critics giving this positive reviews must be on the take or scared of Disney because this show is just absolutely terrible. The story is so insane and some of the plot points are just ludicrous (a space ship crashes into a building but somehow there are still people inside the building having a dinner party who don't even notice). Really? I would also argue any person here in the users giving this a good review is a bot. Abysmal.

It was close to being ok. Seeing them plug 2 of their own Disney movies in an Alien show made me chuckle. The Xenomorph is really relegated here and there is, once again, the usual plot armour. People with guns just cannot aim to save their lives (literally) and after the main character dispatches an alien, it really loses any scary factor. Trying to mix a vibe of Goonies with Alien is pretty bizarre but ok. Oh and the plot contrivance of the cyborg conveniently hacking into one of the hybrids audio system from a thousand miles away is insanely lazy writing. The terrible usage of licensed music that they just put in the credits is absolutely baffling lol. Yer, this wasn't great. However, the visual effects and the world building is excellent. There is a decent amount of intrigue here and tension. Can't say I liked the cliff-hanger ending because it really needs a 2nd season. A large premise of this show is the introduction of hybrids not the alien/s. They're kinda just there. These hybrids vs cyborgs vs synths bring up interesting philosophical questions, but nothing is answered. I think I'm being pretty generous giving this a 4.7. A lot of room for improvement

I would have given it a zero were it not for the Kirsh and Morrow characters, as they are the only things worth watching. The kids are unlikeable (I feel like they are almost the villains). All the characters make incredibly stupid decisions. Hey, why don’t we send untrained kids to the site of an enormous crash and see what happens. Wendy can literally do pretty much anything by just waving her hands. Overall, it’s just bad. Really bad.

This has to be the most disappointing nonsense I have ever seen. People keep saying it's woke but it's not even about that. I don't even mind strong female characters but making adult children and having an alien be tamed by some woman like a dog It's just dumb. It's just super stupid. Don't waste your time on this, I couldn't even get through the whole series andeach episode just kept getting worse andworse

It started off promisingly, but after the first episode the pace dropped and I found it too slow and myself no longer concentrating on the show which is never a good thing. The selection of the music at the end was questionable and the characters were dull. As a huge alien fan this was just another let down, oh well onto the next one.

This series has several serious problems, for example a forced storyline and a script so bad that the series stumbles and fails to bring anything innovative. Fortunately, there are positive points such as the CGI, the characters, and great acting, in addition to bringing a new story to the Alien universe, not so good but watchable.

I initially had reservations about this story taking place on Earth BEFORE the events of the first Alien film. Why can't writers just expand on the current canon without retconning things? But then, I fell in love with the characters, the new creepy critters and I'll have to admit the side story with the children is pretty profound. If you are going to turn an Alien show in a multiepisode series with many seasons then you are going to need side stories like this and it is interesting and fits in well with the Alien universe and the synths. I have a couple quibbles. The last episode is total cliff hanger and if it doesn't get another season than that sets everyone who watched it up for disappointment. Also, whoever is directing the episode with Wendy and her brother must be an only child because these scenes are CREEPY! The way they interact and look at each other is not sibling love but portrayed like something else. Each scene gave me the icks.

The writing and directing for this series is dumber than any I can recall. Its characters don't behave in believable ways, they make the most absurd choices, there are gaping plot holes every 5 minutes, and the storyline itself seems to have little to do with the Alien franchise and almost everything to do with the creator's personal fetishes. It's as if the mind of a 10-year old boy was transferred into the body of an adult filmmaker, with disastrous results.

Similar enough to Romulus in that all the characters and plot are so thinly written. The script just ticks boxes rather than tells a story. It looks like Alien, sometimes sounds like it, but is mostly just vacuous nonsense (…mostly). The script was so obviously drafted by an AI. It makes too many leaps in basic logic and creates unnecessary plot holes that an actual human would struggle to come up with. Seemingly tailor-made for people whose core reference for a quality bar is measured against TikToks digested.

I had high hopes for this because of Noah Hawley's involvement but my interest waned through an unengaging first episode full of truly dire characters and some very dodgy acting. All it had was impressive FX but the rest was just plain boring.

Once again, Disney ruins everything it touches. And beyond that, it's poorly written, the characters are hollow or underdeveloped. The simple fact that they're out of ideas for the characters shows that this was all written by idiots whose "talent" should be limited to making TikToks. You're watching an Alien show and it's not even scary. On the contrary, its ridiculousness and amateurism make it laughable. Disney... Stop making ****!

I honestly really loved the serie, the only "bad" points i'd give to it is that we didn't really see much Aliens sadly. but I have to say to any people who said and will say that "wendy is controlling the alien" she is not controlling him guys use your brain, she watched him "grow up" and spoke to him almost every day so it's like an animal you would grow up with giving him love, he will stay loyal to you and help you in any situation, that's obvious just look at those people on tiktok that be friend with tiger and lions cuz they grew up with them, same thing here with wendy and the alien the only difference is that wendy learnedhow to speak their language cuz of the prodigy words when he told her smth like "can youtry to reproduce that sound for me ?" and yeah I won't yap alot about it but yeah if yall didn't like the series cuz of that, now yk it's actually not what yall thought

Alien: Earth was a pretty unique entry into the franchise. The soundtrack was killer the entire time and the pacing felt good. I'm excited to see what happens in season 2. My wife complained about not getting to see the Aliens as much as she had hoped, so maybe keep that in mind. This story mainly follows a group of synthetics who happen to come across some aliens.

S1 E1-8, high production quality, but the story is so bad. So many story and character decisions made not because of logic or reason or thoughtfulness, but decisions made purely out of convenience. Right from the start in episode 1, how a massive space ship is able to approach Earth and enter it's atmosphere completely undetected by an advanced interstellar-travel-capable civilization tells you exactly how garbage the directing and creators are. The space ship even crashes into some space station which would have at minimum alerted moderators on Earth of the accident. But no, it ninja crashes into a city and obliterates **** and people are surprised. This series could have been cut down to 3 episodes but it just drags on and on with the Yutani guy trying to persuade one of the kids to steal an alien embryo. Episode 8 really turned this series into a complete joke. This group of kids turns into Disney Marvel Avengers with alien pet. The main character Wendy is just so ridiculously over powered she can manipulate computational processing instructions and change database settings by using her force. She also learns how to speak the "Alien" language and become it's master LMAO. Nothing really makes any sense except everything is based purely out of convenience. Unlike past Alien films, this superman-invulnerable-type alien can wipe out legions of marines and not take any damage from a single projectile. Alien Earth does NOT follow the Alien universe and it should be renamed to something else i.e. Roided Power Rangers with Superdog Krypto.

The episodes Noah Hawley directs are not too bad, he is the series creator after all but the rest of his team severely let him down. Odd rock music coming in at the end of each episode, random classic Alien music and noises just littered around the series without care, bad cgi, awful script and story. Just horrific really. How did movie making fall so low. Casting probably the worst offender here.

Holy moly… I was sooo damn pi**ed when I watched Picard and saw what they did to Roddenberry’s vision. Can it get any worse? Oh yes, it can. I’m left absolutely speechless by this bull**** here. This is probably the worst series I’ve ever seen. When it comes to the Alien universe, it’s unbelievable how anyone can be this misguided. Nothing — absolutely nothing — fits together. The acting is at best mediocre, the visual effects are dreadful, and the cinematography looks like a cringey soap opera. Who comes up with this garbage and actually gets to produce it?! You can clearly tell how desperately and clumsily they’re trying to create some kind of Melrose Place-style teenage Free Willy pseudo-vibe to appeal to a younger audience. WTF - this is Alien, Gosh. The script is so unbelievably stupid that even any TikTok video of a farting kangaroo makes more sense than whatever’s going on there. The truth, however, is that Alien was never about that. Up until this series, the creature was always a cerebral horror being that moved through an adult, complex world. This desperate teeny makeover is the most embarrassing thing they could have possibly done. And to me the worst stuff I have ever seen in years. This is the abuse of a legendary formula… yet another reason to cancel that Disney subscription. Awful.

Did nothing with the franchise. I seriously don't understand why they had to use the Alien universe to tell a story about consciousness in robots, a topic they also did nothing with(watch Ex Machina/Ghost in the Shell/Apollo/Mars Express instead). There's nothing interesting here.

Writer/director Noah Hawley is best known for the TV version of “Fargo” and “Legion,” both excellent series. He’s moved the Alien franchise down to Earth in this new show (set 2 years before the original film). A deep space research vessel full of vicious extraterrestrials crash-lands on Earth. They’re all kept on an island run by a genius trillionaire, who’s fascinated by their potential. Of course, things go horribly wrong with the expected kills. In the show’s most unusual aspect, there’s a group of android soldiers inhabited by kids. The first 3 eps have some brutal moments, but it’s slow going, diluted by too much dialogue. Eventually, things ramp up when the expected escapes start. Hawley has created some cool new creatures who have their own clever ways of attack. Even so, the series needs to be tighter to sustain the tension and rate as well as his other shows. (8 one-hour eps with a 2nd season looking inevitable, but not confirmed)

So much potential ruined by silly and ridiculous writing. Giant plotholes / continuity problems and characters with plotarmor combined with very little character building. Lots of intriguing setups that lead absolutely nowhere or have zero payoff. Even the season's finale resolves nothing. It would work better as a comedy with a laugh track in the background. I can suspend disbelieve to a certain degree and can overlook gaps / goofs, the breaking of established canon is ok (although there is no need for that the writers do it anyway, but ok) but this series takes it to a whole new level that is too much idiotic for my taste. I don't know why so many critics gave these high marks but either they are pre-teenagers or think the target audience for this show were pre-teenagers...

The first two or three episodes were outstanding — full of horror and excitement. The show did a great job of building the characters. Unfortunately, after the third episode, the series began to decline. I was very disappointed with how it ended and with what they did to the characters. I still give it a 4, since it was entertaining overall.

I went in open minded having not read any reviews or even watched the trailer. I struggled to engage throughout the first episode and started the second episode hoping it’ll be more interesting but it wasn’t so I gave up. It’s really pretentious and boring. The story is unoriginal and uninteresting. The characters could not be more forgettable except maybe the character played by Samuel Blenkin who is actually just unlikeable. I can’t even compliment the production quality because the editing and cinematography is so choppy that it’s hard to appreciate whatever is happening. The alien is not scary or imposing. Slow, boring and pretentious with characters that are impossible to engage with and a story that is not interesting or original and far too many different species and factions. Yawn, switched off midway through episode 2 (so automatic 1/10), unwatchable.
