A engaging series about revenge, secrets and the magic of electric chemistry. While some of the twists are more obvious than others, the show thrives because the audience never quite knows what to expect.

It’s not a bad show at all, but what kept it afloat for me were the detectives. .... Not for the first time in my TV watching career did I wish that detectives from a limited series might be transferred into a show of their own.

THEY GOT THE BOOK RIGHT! We just binged this from 2PM to 10PM and I'm here at 10:14PM to leave this review because WOW. It's giving Joe Goldberg from You meets the twisted energy of His & Hers in the most addictive murder-mystery-romance combo. It's Dark, obsessive and passionate. My husband is super critical and he is always looks for plot holes but even he was fully hooked. Which says a lot! They delivered everything the trailer promised and then some. The chemistry, the visuals, the tension, and the twists had us glued to the screen! We literally could not stop watching.Ignore the critic reviews. I'm not sure what some people were expecting, especially knowing it's based on a book but this show absolutely delivers and is 100% worth your time!!! I’ll leave you with the line that perfectly captures the energy of this show: "Are you crazy like your mommy... or are you crazy like your daddy?" Happy binge-ing.

“56 Days” has a few blips of implausibility that can take the audience out of the suspense. .... Overall, for a twisty thriller, “56 Days,” is quite entertaining. The lead actors are solid.

As far as guilty pleasures go, Prime Video’s cockamamie but sexy mystery series serves its purpose. So good on that. But be ready to titter away at its unbelievable twists and turns. They’re ridiculous but fun.

Cameron and Jogia have chemistry and clearly have fun playing off their characters’ respective demons. But it isn’t enough to buoy the weight put on their shoulders in carrying this overly long season.

56 Days suggests halfheartedly that the very wrongness of this courtship is what makes it so hot for them, and for us. But its insistence on playing coy about exactly how wrong it is or why, saving all of Oliver and Ciara’s deepest, darkest secrets until the penultimate flashback episode, is to its own detriment.

If you stick it out until the end of the eight episodes – assuming you’re in the TikTok demographic or you’re bed-bound and have mislaid the remote control – you will find that it does have quite a satisfying ending when it comes to identifying the body in the bath. But by then, like the corpse, your brain will have turned to slop.

Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia play a couple who meet cute at a grocery store and dive immediately into a hot affair. Jump forward to “today,” where there’s a decomposing corpse in his bathtub. That’s the basic plot behind this series, jumping back and forth, as it counts the days up to the body’s discovery. Those scenes involve a cop duo trying to solve the mystery of who’s actually dead. Of course, there are shocking revelations along the way. Fortunately, the duo’s chemistry works: Cameron is slyly seductive and devious, while Jogia plays it more serious, with continually disheveled hair adding an element of entitled nonchalance. What doesn’t work is the bane of so many current series: There's too much extra padding that slows the pace. The revelations deepen the impact, but it takes too long with no suspense to get to the final outcome.
