- Mar 18, 2026Iconic though the Tinariwen sound is, Hoggar reminds us, it is also as dynamic as the people who shape it, not only the band’s regular members but all those they include in their community. In short, Tinariwen’s tenth album is a gem–of course.
- Mar 17, 2026This is Tinariwen as deep and darkly compelling as we've ever heard them. [Apr 2026, p.32]

Cuts like “Erghad Afewo” keen and wail ecstatically, the eerie vocals taking you to other, more triumphant places, the insistent rhythms urging your feet and butt to move. A Tinariwen concert is always a celebration, and since we won’t have access to that, the transporting joys of Hoggar will have to do for now.
- Mar 17, 2026If you are unfamiliar with the band’s music, this release may be the perfect place to start.
