For every bright spot in The Shift, and every moment where it has value as a cultural curio or object of camp intrigue, you unfortunately have to sit through a fair amount of blathering on about Kevin’s mission.

Polaha, our lead, doesn’t embarass himself but doesn’t make Kevin a compelling enough figure to let him carry the movie.

Hollywood lookout!! Christian filmmakers are not playing around any more! Last week I saw Napoleon. One of my favorite actors, one of my favorite directors and a gagillion dollars to make. I'm sorry. It ****. And that was the only Hollywood movie since Avatar I had any kind of high hopes for this year. No hero, no arc, no relationship to care about, no dialogue that felt real, nothing surprising. Beautifully shot but that was about it. No contrast that with this movie. Compelling hero from the first scene. Riveting conversations from the first word. A plot I had no idea where it was going. Great sound, great music, great lighting, great acting. The beginning was so good I started worrying they'd blow the ending but an hour in I was so hooked I forgot to worry. But that's not the best part. I've been through hard things in life. This movie touched on those things and brought genuine tears. I have a couple of teens who aren't so sure about this Jesus guy and have their radars for cheesy Christian media cranked to 11. THEY LOVED THIS MOVIE!! We talked the whole way home and then they wanted to hang out and hunt the web for behind the scenes interviews and such. These are kids who seem to like nothing but Marvel, Comic books and Gravity Falls. For them to be so engaged in a film I found so thrilling and moving and honest. That's the highest compliment I can give. I was driving my daughter to highschool the other day and she asked me "What's your highest value?" I told her "Truth". Then I asked "what about you?" "Authenticity" She replied. That's what this movie brings. Truth and authenticity. Wrapped in one of the most unique Sci Fi stories I've ever seen. SEE THIS IN THEATERS!!!

The Shift is a Hallmark movie at best and will do nothing for those who are uninterested in faith-based cinema. As a work of science fiction, it does little to make the audience think.

I've had the pleasure of seeing the film more than once and I must say it gets better every time. There are so many layers to it. The line of temptation that the Benefactor uses resonates so much with my own experience and Neal was incredible in the role. I'll be watching this more in the future for sure. Must see.

Neal McDonough is good in his portrayal of the Benefactor. The sci-fi is pretty decent—think in terms of “Butterfly Effect” meets “Matrix,” meets the “Hunger Games” I have to completely disagree with the review that said “it doesn’t make you think”—makes me wonder if some of these critics really watch the entire movie they review? It’s not a perfect movie by any stretch, but had its moments and kept me dialed in throughout the 115 minutes or so of length.

Difficult at times to follow. Portrays a deep moral struggle in one man's life. Squaring off with the Devil and testing free will.

A versão cristã caricatural de "Tudo em todo o lugar ao mesmo tempo". Uma bomba.
