One truly, madly, deeply satisfying creep-out.

An entertaining and chilling film that will make you question what you believe about myths and the supernatural.

An intelligent, creative and creepy exploration of the dream-like world. Music and sound are perfect, so are camera and pacing. A creepy thriller indeed, which I enjoy once or twice a year, usually with an afternoon coffee.

I loved this film. It has a genuine creepy feel to it accompanied by great music. There are scenes that are very memorable, and years later, I still get goosebumps watching some of them. I really recommend this movie.

As the plot loses steam, director Mark Pellington (whose paranoid thriller "Arlington Road" was one of the worst movies of 1999) tends to rely on cheap tricks to maintain suspense, although the final catastrophe is very nicely done.

About as threatening as the real-life insect the apparition resembles; its large, mossy wings may scare some people, but the bug can only damage your woolens. The movie flirts with more damage than it can actually cause.

There is very little about the hoary conventions of The Mothman Prophecies that couldn't be improved by a little levity, a little more sunlight and some judicious cutting.

A diverting pulp time-waster.

This mumbo-jumbo plays like The X Files on Prozac. No wonder the actors look narcotized.

This is one of those films I will watch again, and have done so over the years. There is great scary atmosphere throughout, and Gere plays his part really well. In my top ten creepy movies of all time.

For a movie called the Mothman Prophecies there isn't much Mothman in this story. The Movie was more of a fictional take on the history of the collapse of the silver bridge in point pleasant West Virginia. Although the movie is based on a true story it would have been cool to see more Mothman and have a sense of "someone watching you" during the movie. The movie has pretty decent psychological horror moments but none that absolutely threw me for a loop. This movie does a lot of things decent but doesn't excel at anything. If I knew the movie was going to follow the history of the bridge more so instead of being focused solely on Mothman I may have given it a higher rating but this is how I feel about it currently. Also Indrid Cold is in the movie which I guess is a different West Virginia folk lore character so I guess that's kind of neat

A total waste oftime. I honestly have NO positive comments about a movie that's as scary as watching paint dry.
Folklore superstition of seeing, hearing and...nothing.
