Veterans Englund and Shaye admirably give it their all, but their best efforts are not enough to elevate the subpar material directed in mechanical fashion by Zariwny.

Another obvious example that in the so-called horror films, the writers are not interested or they just can't create a sustainable mystery. At least solid enough for you to be more interested in the story but it's evident they have no more aspirations and are happy with what they present.

Took every ounce of strength in me not to turn it off or switch it to something else. The description of the movie had me enticed, but the opening scene alone gave me a preview for how this was going to turn out. Grayson Gabriel, Robert Englund & Lin Shaye's performances are what kept me at least intrigued. Gabrielle Haugh as Alex was painfully emotionless most of the time, aside from the final attic scene. The Midnight Man himself was a decent entity and the look was done pretty well. I usually can sit through and enjoy most to all films, but this is definitely one I struggled through, and won't watch again.

I would like to write something else about this movie but damn, it's hard.
