Most astonishingly, with the franchise's powerful climax, Lawrence has managed to align her parallel Hollywood lives and reinvent the prestigious popcorn flick, a crowd-pleaser with intelligent class.

After the subterranean sluggishness of the last film, too thinly spun out from the first third of Suzanne Collins’s final book, Mockingjay – Part 2 returns the series to its characteristic high gear.

Returning to its gripping roots of peril for the epic conclusion to this deeply and emotionally rich film series. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 brings the series using very well crafted twists to a close giving a sad yet still bittersweet and satisfying finally to the story and characters.

An exciting, involving finale, streamlining the complicated end game of Collins’ story without shortchanging the climactic action.

Director Francis Lawrence stages the action sequences, both aboveground and underground, with a modicum of flair, and Julianne Moore as rebel leader Coin gives off some sparks – she’s a reformer with a totalitarian streak – but for the most part there is nothing divertingly new or different about this franchise fade-out.

Most of the pleasure of Mockingjay — Part 2 comes from watching Lawrence, not the story around her. Her aim is true, even if the narrative arc of the movie traces a long, wobbly path toward its eventual, and not exactly happy, resting place.

The third and weakest book in Suzanne Collins’ trilogy should never have been split into two films, but since that’s become money-grubbing standard practice for young-adult adaptations (“Twilight,” “Divergent”), here we are.

Mockingjay II is a bare bones finale — a tedious two hours in which nothing at all happens, with the briefest of breaks for a zombie chase and attack and a half-hearted bit of sci-fi combat.

This review is for the entire series (4 movies total)... Unbelievable! Hunger Games exceeded every expectation of mine entering the series. It was not a mere sci-fi thriller, it was a classic. Damn it I'm getting Game of Thrones like vibes here! I will name 4 words for each movie in the series: Shock, Awe, Anger, Revenge. Hunger Games depicts a dystopian reality that holds true even today, in the real world: Freedom is, well, not in anyway free at all. It comes at a price. We forget the price paid so that I can write this review freely, in my own opinion, without any second thoughts. Just being ourselves, is something not to be taken for granted. 'Cause human nature, as depicted in the series so well, is full of good and bad surprises. It takes just one mad man on top of the food chain to make it all go sour. Are we all players in a well-organized "Hunger Game"? What do we have to do to stay alive and survive? To bring bread to our homes? To feel some sense of freedom to do whatever we want? To take back more than we give to those who are in control of our chains? These are the questions humanity needs to answer, and Hunger Games boldly asks these questions. It is reminding us that we are in the process of forgetting what peace is, what war means and what sacrifices were made to give us "this"...

I really wanted to like this, but the ending just doesn't quite sit right. Lawrence's performance is great again, the world looks the best in this installment, and the score emotionally hits hard. Unfortunately, obvious continuity issues pop their heads up again, and the story and the love triangle are extremely fatiguing after four movies.

E o final me agrada — exceto pelo epílogo.

Audio: English, with portuguese subtitles. J4300 32' TV Speakers
