Either the twist needed to come earlier, or the filmmakers needed to do a better job of making sure it provided enough of a jolt to make the previous, largely generic 85 minutes worth the effort. As it stands, Protector's twist ending feels adrift in a movie that's not compelling enough to support it.

Dragged down by over-explanatory dialogue and tired narrative tropes, Protector brings nothing new to the table–except maybe for a confounding 11th hour twist that I won’t spoil that defies reasoning and frankly, good taste. If anyone needs rescuing, it’s Jovovich from this movie.

Just an cringe feminist fever dream. Mila hasn't produced watchable content since first Resident evil and 5th element. Her being stuck with limited talent husband director and becoming embarrassingly woke kind of sealed her career. Sadly looks like she's bringing down same path her daughter also. I think it's too late for second run for her. Shame, because she had every chance of becoming A lister. Obviously she's very limited as pure acting goes, but have dense presence and charisma, with right manager to choose scripts and roles, she could be feasting on roles equivalent of Keanu Reeves John Wick, or similar to resident evil bad ass lady kicking zombie dogs.
