This handsomely made suspense yarn proves an engrossing, pulse-quickening journey.

Last Passenger is a good antithesis to the overloaded and cluttered action Hollywood seems to love nowadays. If you're not feeling especially picky on plot or character, you won't go wrong with this compelling and stylish train thriller.

When the opening credits started, I started thinking 'oh dear', this isnt going to be a good film. But then I was slowly drawn into the enclosed space of the film, and felt strangely nostalgic about the old slam door train they used. There is a real sense of being there with them which adds to the being 'drawn in' effect, and helps you relate to the characters (even the slightly cartoonish stereotype). If you liked unstoppable, then you will like this lower budget cousin, which has a real 3-dimensional human aspect, coupled with a hint of an agatha christie 'who done it'. Its my surprisingly good movie of the evening.

Director Omid Nooshin gives this story harrowing touches largely through arresting camera angles and aggressive editing. He ensures that “Last Passenger” features a couple of jaw-dropping moments even as it traverse familiar ground.

A sturdy runaway-train thriller that flaunts its influences but chugs up a decent amount of suspense.

Like so many late-night journeys, Last Passenger starts out full of promise, but only stops at places we’ve already been.

Some overripe dialogue and a well-worn plot are tempered by an admirable reluctance to humanise the terrorist.

Nooshin holds on to a strain of logic that doesn't often survive at this level of filmmaking.

The movie starts being interesting from the beginning but towards the end, it loses a lot after we know what it is happening. I would have appreciated more mystery involved

Takes its time to get going, and characters are pretty cartoonish (watch out for the humorless old guy, and the wacky Russian!) Best acting job is by a kid. Still, a decent popcorn picture, and the special effects bely a reported micro-budget..
