John Wick, is not only a return to badass form for the actor, it's also one of the most excitingly visceral action flicks I've seen in ages.

The blood-slicked, vividly drawn film universe John Wick illustrates is such a generous slice of pulp that, even if not original, per se, it exudes a confidence rarely seen these days, surefire franchises be damned.

Greetings from Lithuania. "John Wick" (2014) is a very cool action flick. It has Keanu Reeves in a bad-ass role, playing an unstoppable hit-man who goes on a vengeance road after his dog is ... well i won't spoil it. This action film is very well constructed - great action scenes, lots of blood (but not gore), simple but strong central character and a lot of bad guys to shoot at. John Wick had probably more head-shots in this movie than i got in a "Call of Duty" - that's how you make sure that bad guys are dead for good. Directing by a veteran stuns pro Chad Stahelski was great. He was a long time collaborator on stunts with Keanu on many movies - it's hard to believe that "John Wick" was his first feature film. It's one of the best film time directing jobs ever. Action set pieces are the heart of the film, and you can clearly see how much effort was put into them. This film is also very stylish. Overall, "John Wick" is a very enjoyable action flick. One could argue that it didn't needed next 3 films (as of 2025) as it's a perfect flick. It has over the top central hero, very simple but cool story, great action scenes. Do not take it to seriously and if you enjoy action movies, "John Wick" is not to be missed.

Director Chad Stahelski — Reeves' stunt double for Point Break and The Matrix — aims only for a kinetic revenge yarn with wrinkles drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs might appreciate, like martial arts moves at point blank bullet range; what he'd call gun fu.

There are some attempts at a comic-bookish, film noir vibe, including a hotel where all the crooks and killers stay, forbidden by house rules from "doing business"on the premises. And everywhere Keanu turns, he bumps into a character from HBO.

No es mala para ser la primera de la saga, se nota que tenían un concepto de lo que querían hacer, hay veces que falla en ciertos aspectos en el doblaje al Español Latino pero también falla en que la historia pasa muy desapercibida. En resumidas palabras es una película que pasa muy desapercibida en cuanto a historia.

Why everyone acts like this movie is so great I have no idea. It's kind of like a bee movie almost. I have tried to watch this movie different times And it's just not that exciting. Now some of the other chapters are definitely better I believe this is the worst one out of them all Not that I'm claiming any of them are that great.

REVENGE PORN is my summation of this film. I get the sensation of being emotionally manipulated to root for an ex mafia hit man when in reality, they are all despicable P.O.S.
Oh! They killed his puppy! Think for micro second.. John Wick probably did worse than that before he fell in love and left the crime world in order to live the good life from all of his ill begotten riches.
Coupled with absolutely no other true character development and for what of that there is, it takes a back seat to the non stop MATRIX LIKE hand to hand battle sequences that make up 95% of the film. Isn't that nice of Hollywood to develop a series of films where Keanu Reeves doesn't have to act and involves almost identical battle sequences using his skillset that he had previously learned for The Matrix trilogy.. hmmmm things that make you go hmmmm.... at least the matrix had an interesting and way more complex storyline to frame the action sequences in it. This film is extremely unsophisticated REVENGE PORN. How ever polished it may be.
