Inner Demons

Credible performances, effective visuals and tight pacing round out this chilling effort.

The main drawback of Inner Demons, no matter how skillful the presentation may be here, is the overriding sense that this has all been done before.

The goofiness is redeemed somewhat by a wickedly violent climax — the exclamation point at the end of a rather simple sentence.

The film makes one damning if unoriginal observation—the "reality" presented on reality TV is manufactured—and then does nothing to expand on it.

The rather routine imitation of reality TV-style camera and editing techniques, along with uninspired special effects associated with Carson’s spiritual affliction, don’t attempt to break new ground but gain little by repeating familiar formulas.

Neither Grossman’s uninspired staging nor the performances help much.

There's a disingenuous offering of pathos to accompany the film's ridiculous and violent denouement.
