As the clock ticks, the film asks, who can this qualified woman trust, but mostly, we’re just looking at our watch, waiting for the dull torment to end.

The film is a basic thriller with little to offer audiences who enjoy the genre.

Perhaps the most depressing thing about Sophia Banks’s Black Site — a dreary, underwritten thriller — is an ending that suggests a sequel might already be in the works. For the sake of its beleaguered star, Michelle Monaghan, I can only hope not.

I found this film very similar to Interceptor which I just saw yesterday on Netflix. Looking at both posters you'd think it's the same actress.
They're dressed and styled the same way, although this film seems more focused despite its lousy script, but it goes without saying that Michelle Monaghan is far more competent as a leading actress than Elsa Pataky. Unsurprisingly, the plot is utterly conventional in its context and content.
It has nothing peculiar or exceptional among the many other irrelevant action films that abound in the market, and yet for all that goes wrong, its conclusion seems to lay the groundwork for a sequel.
If it gets one, that will be the real surprise.
