The plot is an obvious parable for modern dilemmas, yet in the hands of the film's creators, and with their graceful use of 3-D, viewers feel as if they're watching how the future might actually unfold, glimpsing a conflict that's destined to take place 300 years from now.

Director/co-writer Aristomenis Tsirbas, expanding his own short film, unveils a classically devised invasion yarn à la H.G. Wells, but with the twist that humans are the aggressors.

Good character development, world building, nice visuals. - - - - Interesting comments about war and sharing resources. - - - - I might have rated this more like 8 or 9 but a overall 6.4 rating made me rate it higher because it would be a shame if more people didn't get a chance to appreciate this movie because they got mislead by a lower score.

The film was fun to watch. To me, the film is the one of underrated treasure.

Battle for Terra boasts impressively executed battle sequences that, frankly, are light-years beyond anything found in the recent Star Wars animated add-ons.

It's an unconventional premise: that aliens live in harmony and humans are the warmonger invaders. But it's not that simple.

It doesn't do much for the film's pacifist message that, as spacecraft zip across the screen and fire lasers into your popcorn, you may find yourself wishing that Tsirbas had replaced the movie's poorly written dialogue and implausible plot with more battle scenes. War! What is it good for? Awesome animation!

Please, moviegoers, time is running out for us. Our civilization (and bottom line) depend on fast-food kiddie meals stuffed with toys. In this way, we conquer the solar system.

Aggressively ugly and intergalactically boring, the dismal sci-fi kiddie cartoon Battle for Terra is too weak to be shown anywhere except maybe on the next flight to Saturn.

One of my favourite childhood movies. Sure animation ****, story is expected and is ... well.. meant to be for kids. Now I am adult I can understand why I liked it before but I would not say movie holds up today. Still 8/10 because I loved the idea. This can easily be any other movie, non-animation.

This is a great animated film. It has a good story and actually seems to have foreshadowed several films that would be released years later. Fun to watch, much better than the vast majority of animated films that are widely released.

You know, I actually had pretty high hopes for this movie...when I saw the poster. One look at the poster and I immediately thought, "this ought to great if it has a poster like that!" Then I saw the film, took one look at the designs of the characters and thought "am I watching the wrong movie?" I know some people may like it, but I personally found "Battle for Terra" to be an inferior animated effort. Beyond the ugly character models, the animation just isn't that great, you won't care for any of the characters after watching the film, the voice acting is passable at best, and the story just doesn't resonate. Even at a compact 90 minutes, "Battle for Terra" is only worth watching during "Bad Movie Night." It's clear there was some effort put in here, but unfortunately, it's just not enough.
