Petroni, in any case, is a skilled storyteller with a strong visual sense.

Neill is quietly compelling, as always. Brody underplays Pete, emphasizing his suffering, his victimhood, his guilt. It’s a performance mostly of reactions, and the aforementioned wayward accent.

"I see dead people" what a great movie that was, with a twist at the end. Similarly, this movie has a story line we follow and think we know how it will end, but no. I like the style of the movie, kinda dark, short scenes cut from one to another without much explanation. The movie doesn't hit you over the head explaining what's going on, you are supposed to figure it out as you watch it unfold.

I can't imagine what our main character is dealing with, but I'm unsure if what we're seeing is a halucination or something entirely different. Oh what a beautiful mind bending tale they've woven here, and it's getting quite interesting now as pieces are falling into some type of pattern. Not so much a horror film as much as a thriller, but his visions keep it in the realm.

It’s a bit derivative, with borrowings from a handful of other films, but there are some nasty moments.

Backtrack eventually moves beyond its shamelessly borrowed set-up to create a few chills of its own.

Lacking the stylistic finesse that might have compensated for its schematic narrative deficiencies, Backtrack lives up to its title all too well.

“I see dead people,” Adrien Brody all but exclaims in Backtrack, a movie that tries to make a choo-choo out of “The Sixth Sense” but immediately goes off the rails.

The film is the cinematic equivalent of watching a Rubik's Cube noisily solve itself for 90 minutes.

Too bad Backtrack has nothing to do to save this movie from being interacted by its flaws thanks to its flaws being all over the place. Backtrack keeps trying.

Adrian brody is wasted in this mediocre slow plodding film thats just so very very sub standard Australian low budget tv movie. Not even worth renting ot on dvd. Instantly forgetable
