The real problem with After is that it’s a lifeless slog of thinly written clichés, one that’s missing the charismatic spark of the actual One Direction boys.

I feel confident that even if I were to be magically transformed into the target demographic, I would still find After to be a cliched, mediocre affair. Come back, "Twilight," all is forgiven.

I absolutely love this movie. I’ve watched it so many times. Just something about it. It’s innocent yet sexy at the same time.

Фильм отличный, игра актеров великолепна, смотрится на одном дыхании. Советую.

The problems may lie in Todd’s novel, but regardless, characters act illogically, as though written by someone who napped through most of Intro to Psych and skipped English 101 altogether. Character motivations go either unwritten or left on the cutting room floor.

It’s a serious-minded first-real-love/first sexual experience coming-of-age drama which takes forever to make anything happen, and when it does (the “big reveal”), it’s so lame as to make you weigh your life up to this point, and what inspired you to waste 105 minutes on this drivel.

Beautifully shot in Instagram-filter inspired hues by Tom Betterton and Adam Silver, After is occasionally aesthetically pleasing. Yet the talented cast is burdened by a dead on arrival screenplay that waters down what could have been an intoxicating tale of first love had it divorced itself from its dull formula that no doubt was influenced by committee and the studio’s desire to create what they think teen and tween audiences will enjoy.

One of the more plastic molds of troubled heartthrob storytelling in recent memory...is the kind of dispiriting effort that thinks it’s scratching an itch for masochistic young girls, but primarily suggests that romance, desire and sexuality aren’t worth genuinely exploring.

The performances are consistently monotone, and the dialogue is alternately treacly, in terms of romantic statements, and on-the-nose, in terms of giving Hardin a back story to explain his rebel act.

Very good movie! It needs a sequel for sure! I didn’t like some actors that were chosen to the movie but that’s my own opinion based on how I used to imagine it on my head while reading the book!

Hi,
I’ve read the books and after watching the movie I’ve got to say that they focused the plot on the wrong way. The movie was too much focused on how Tessa and Hardin fall in love. However, what made them fall in Love was their background, their story, their family, their friends... and all of this is necesary to understand why Tessa and Hardin are who they are and why they behave as they do! In the movie you do not really get to know any of this so it seems like Hardin and Tessa have a strong sexual attraction and that’s it, when there’s so much more between them. The lack of background is so big So, I do not wanna be too harsh but the movie wasn’t driven is the right direction, sorry.

Bastante disfrutable, deja bastante por desear al final de la película pero es una historia bonita aunq no bien planteada.

This is a prime example of a bad movie. It really is. A story not worth telling, cliché, cardboard characters, and a really horrible ending. What more could you possibly need to burn this thing to the ground?

I had high expectations for this movie because I really thought the books were so good. The movie was basically half a page in the actual book and did not at all accurately depict the relationship between Hardin and Tessa. Honestly, the movie should have been rated r if it were an actual depiction of the book because there is no way the book is pg-13. I am very disappointed in this movie and how corny it was. There were way too many differences between the book and the movie and it is just sad.
