A Child of My Own

In 'A Child of My Own,' Maite Alberdi finds—in the case of Eleonor Marín, who stole a baby from a hospital out of a desire to become a mother—another story with which to expand her cinematic universe, where reality and fiction coexist. Much like 'A Cop Movie,' this documentary employs fiction to present one perspective and reality to juxtapose it with another. While its social critiques may not be particularly profound, it at least questions the system that compels women to become mothers.
