In an era marked by omnipresent terror and universal doom, 7500 sparks fear and soothes anxiety in the same breath. Although the film utilizes violence as its foundation, 7500 promotes the idea that heroes exist everywhere, proving that, even amid turbulent opposition, survival, and endurance are sometimes the bravest acts people can ever accomplish.

You wouldn’t exactly call it fun or enjoyable, but it’s a thriller that does what it sets out to do, which is to make you uncomfortable and then wring you dry. And if you’re feeling cooped up being stuck at home, well, the proceedings here could make the smallest apartment feel spacious.

For its first half, 7500 is briskly effective in a cold-sweat sort of way, carrying its audience from a smooth takeoff to the first signs of disturbance to swiftly cranked all-out terror with the kind of nervy efficiency you can admire without exactly taking pleasure in it. In more ways than one, however, Vollrath’s technically adroit film has trouble sticking the landing.

Excellent movie - realistic and tense, yet not made in the Hollywood style, which might be off-putting for less discerning viewers. Negative comments of "7500" come in the guise of feigned political correctness and personal dislike of pace (ridiculous) or action in that there is too much screaming and banging on the door - I guess the reality would be that one should politely ask that the cockpit door be opened (and not insist at that), and that the infliction of wounds should be accompanied by "I strongly object that you stab me with the glass knife", but only once and in the quieten voice. True connoisseurs of action movies will like "7500".

Eine Stärke des Films ist die stetige Spannung, die der Film halten kann. Die Schwäche ist der Realismus. Weder kann ein Cockpit so leicht gestürmt werden, noch sind die Reaktionen des Pilotes (und nicht mal des Attentäters) realistisch.

Gordon-Levitt proves to be convincing and credible, unfortunately for him, the story soon falls into bumps and cliches that easily show the shortcomings of its narrative device. Also the imbalance between the elements of suspense and drama, not only make it unconvincing, they make it look constructed in a very convenient way in order to make it more functional and that's why the film never manages to go for everything, especially because it never seems to be sure of the path in which it should step on the accelerator.
