Pitch-perfect nostalgia spoiled by borderline unplayable matches. [Apr 2012, p.92]

It is fun for a while, but overall feels like a wasted opportunity.

Reviving a classic wrestling game like WWF WrestleFest and putting it on the App Store in a brand-new edition is no doubt a wise choice, but you have to do it the right way. WWE WrestleFest is a mixed bag: it's still fun and durable, but the nostalgic fans will be disappointed.

When it comes to IPone Games,WWE hasn't had the best track record. They have only had two games prior to Wrestlefest on IOS. One was a port of the 2010 edition of Smackdown vs Raw and the other was an Angry Birds clone. Wrestlefest is an arcade game based of the Old school WWF games but it also mixes in new superstars. THe controls work best on IPad due to the fact that the screen is bigger but playing it on IPhone/Ipod touch is a nightmare. you start off yith about six to eight superstars and legends and DLC comes monthly for 99c (Same price as the game) The stand out feature in the game is the multiplayer where you can connect with friends iOS device wirlessly. If your a fan of wrestling and want a fun game on the go then this is it but if not, it's not worth anything even if it is 99c

WWE WrestleFest for iPhone is the perfect game for any nostalgic WWE fan. It features an arcade type gameplay with just enough realism to keep any die-hard fan coming back for more. THQ has a winner with WWE WrestleFest, and that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold said so.

Despite this, WrestleFest is still one of the better wrestling games on the iPad and is worth a shot for wrestling fans although is not recommended for anyone wanting to relive the joys of the original.

WrestleFest's randomness is what sinks this game; rules that are difficult to comprehend or discover how they work are not what modern games should have. Still, for those nostalgic for the old arcade-style wrestling games, this is a good fix. Beyond that? Might be best to stay away.

Stupid, glitteringly bright, and a little bit broken, WWE WrestleFest still manages to capture the slapdash drama and violent hilarity of the ring.
