For lovers of supernatural mysteries, Irish folklore or even just a good old comic book, I am happy to give The Séance of Blake Manor an enthusiastic recommendation. I greatly enjoyed getting to know the characters and revealing their dark secrets, and ultimately unearthing the mystery of Ms. Deane’s disappearance. If this mystery looks even remotely appealing, my guess is that the experience will be enjoyed.

The Seance of Blake Manor is a hidden diamond of 2025. At the release, I missed the project and accidentally learned about it based on Steam's recommendation. This is one of the best games of 2025. Excellent visuals, a wonderful plot within its genre. And great gameplay. First of all, The Seance of Blake Manor is great because it does not try to please everyone, here everything lives in its own rhythm and the player must adapt to it and not the opposite as everywhere. Secondly, The Seance of Blake Manor respects the player's time (literally). It's a very rare thing even for great games. The only shortcomings can be answered by the lack of localization into languages other than English (but this is a benefit treated by amateur translations) and bugs. Bugs are sometimes critical, because of them you can catch a soft-lock of the entire storyline. But everything I encountered in the game was eliminated in one of the patches. It's a pity that such cool projects just pass by the mass player.

Seems at first like a true investigation game but it is all but a coating. This is just a list of tasks you have to do to make the mistery progress by following the instructions of the Mystery menu step by step... Youhave to wait for the game to allow you to "make hypothesis" / confront even when the answer is obvious so nothing is organic and it all feels fake and triggered only by doing tasks /getting the good document. Not a really bad game but really disappointing cause the start of the game was much more promising.

I'm not usually the adventure or mystery game type of guy but the art style and trailer immediately grabbed me for some reason. I tried the demo out and enjoyed it so I bought the game. I was hooked by the story and really enjoyed unraveling the mystery over the 3 in-game days. None of the puzzles were nonsensical like in many adventure games and any that you find yourself scratching your head over will eventually make sense. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking to try something different and is interested in trying out a mystery game with some very mild horror elements.

Without a doubt one of my favourite experiences of 2025, The Séance of Blake Manor is a rich and beautiful narrative puzzle game where you're fully in charge of your own detective work. Blending together stellar storytelling with Irish folklore and spooky mysteries, it's a game that's going to stay with me for a long time to come.

I do want to appreciate how richly The Séance of Blake Manor rewards players for the effort they have put in and the choices they have made. I can’t wait to watch others’ playthroughs to see how the decisions they made or the roads they didn’t take change the game’s world when all is said and done. It doesn’t take much investigation to see this game is one of the year’s best — and it might also be one of my favorite detective experiences of all time.

My kind of jam for sure, the setup and location are all perfect. It's a little overwhelming initially but you slowly start to figure it out. The writing is ok but the lore and worldbuilding carry the story along. A fun detective game.

Really fun detective game. Cool to see a mythology you do not see explored too much in games. Good sub-stories and mysteries to solve along the way. Great voice acting and characters all around. I just wish there was a bit more of a hint system than what is in the game. There were several times I was stuck and just needed a single piece of evidence to solve a mystery but had no idea where to go. The only hints they give you are very vague sometimes and just not that helpful. Sometimes it was looking at an item I had already seen before. There is a lot of backtracking around the manor, which is fine, but I also found myself going back in room I thought I had already explored. It was just hard to tell at times what exactly I had to do or trigger to get to the next step of whatever mystery I was working on. Still a really fun game that has a cool look to it. If you are a fan of any of the detective type games like Golden Idol, Obra Din, or even stuff like The Roottrees are Dead, you should try this out. 8.5/10
