SteamWorld Heist II is made with plenty of heart and effort to create an amazing adventure that never feels bad. Don’t be afraid to stop by and make your own legend. It’s worth it.
Incredibly fun game that follows up one of my favourite games, steamworld Heist, I thought that game was already amazing but this devs did such an amazing job with the new mechanics and QoL that now it's hard to replay heist without feeling something's missing. 10/10
SteamWorld Heist II – A Tactical Masterpiece That Elevates the SeriesSteamWorld Heist II is everything a sequel should be: it takes the foundation of its predecessor and improves upon it in almost every way. Combining strategic depth with the charm and creativity that the SteamWorld universe is known for, this game stands as one of the best tactical shooters on the **** core of the game is its turn-based, 2D tactical combat, and it’s as satisfying as ever. Every encounter feels dynamic and challenging, thanks to the emphasis on precision aiming and clever use of the environment. The new weapons, skills, and character abilities introduced in this sequel make for an even deeper tactical experience. Whether you’re bouncing bullets off walls to hit hidden enemies or planning the perfect combo of special abilities, Heist II ensures no two battles are ever the **** addition of new characters, each with their own unique abilities and personalities, keeps the roster fresh and engaging. Team composition and strategy become even more vital, as each character brings something different to the table. Whether you prefer explosive offense, defensive fortification, or tricky support roles, the game offers plenty of variety to suit any **** campaign is well-paced, with a wide variety of missions and environments that never feel repetitive. From tight, claustrophobic space stations to vast, sprawling cargo ships, the game’s art direction is as colorful and creative as ever. Each level is packed with detail, and the hand-drawn art style continues to give the game a unique, charming personality. The quirky, steampunk-inspired robots bring an extra layer of charm, with witty dialogue and fun interactions that make the world come alive.Another highlight is the soundtrack. The mix of catchy, space-western tunes perfectly complements the atmosphere of the game and keeps the energy high, even during the tensest moments. It’s one of those soundtracks you’ll find yourself humming long after you’ve finished **** terms of difficulty, SteamWorld Heist II strikes a great balance. It offers enough challenge to keep veterans of the series on their toes, but also provides plenty of accessibility options to ensure new players can jump in and enjoy the experience without feeling overwhelmed.Overall, SteamWorld Heist II is a fantastic sequel that expands on everything that made the original great. It’s clever, creative, and endlessly entertaining, with tight tactical gameplay that feels rewarding every step of the way. Whether you’re a fan of the first game or a newcomer to the series, this is a must-play for anyone who loves strategic, turn-based action with a unique twist.
Sharp and compelling strategy that expands on the first game with a clever new progression system, but at over twice the length it's in danger of outstaying its welcome.
SteamWorld Heist 2’s charming adventure refines the original game’s clever turn-based combat with a flexible mix-and-match class system and hand-made maps that are built around using teamwork to accomplish their objectives and escape unscathed. On top of that, it serves up a light and entertaining real-time nautical exploration game as a palette cleanser between battles, and swapping between them helps things stay fresh for more than twice the first game’s 15-hour length. It’s occasionally mired in grinding to unlock the next area and the skill system will make you waste a lot of XP if you don’t know what’s coming, but there’s no shortage of loot, amusingly off-kilter robot characters, and fantastic original folksy music along the way.
The core of SteamWorld Heist still burns brightly in this turn-based tactics sequel, but its bid to go bigger and better is a risk that hasn't quite paid off.
Like first SteamWorld Heist but bigger and better. There are four main differences:
1. You are no longer piloting the spaceship. You are the captain of a submarine, and you can freely explore the whole map.
2. There are ship upgrades that impact ship parameters and crew skills and statistics.
3. There is a well-thought-out multiclass system that gives you way more options on how to progress/organize your crew.
4. There are bounty and rest mechanisms that push you to use all your crew members every "day" if you want to maximize your loot. If you liked the first SteamWorld Heist, or you like turn-based tactic games, you will love this one. Btw. Works great on Steam Deck.
Nice game. Good variebility, characters, and gameplay. I think the game extended the lore and was interesting enough to beat the missions without having the feeling of repetitiveness.
I don't remember the first game being this bland and boring. It could be that the first game had the outer space setting and more mystere going for it. I've been playing for a couple of hours now and the game feels like it's just dragging on and not showing me anything interesting.
Usually garbage by ineffective developers. They don't know how to make the game more difficult organically so they make the enemies do things you can't do. This makes the higher difficulty levels not fun, and honestly, the developers likely couldn't figure out how to do this better.
