Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown
Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown has a lot to offer fans of the series, but might struggle to attract others thanks to the challenge and lack of interactivity.
The Voyager crew are highly motivated to return to their loved ones on Earth, and you are provided with the necessary tools to help them achieve this. While it's a long journey, it's an exciting one, filled with tension, strategic decisions and the fight for survival in the uncharted depths of space.
GameExcite not only shows its love for Star Trek: Voyager with this game, but also its respect for it, offering an outstanding survival and exploration experience, just like the hardships the crew had to endure during its seven-year journey home. It's not a perfect game; there are elements of its interface and mechanics that could be improved, and it can make you want to tear your hair out at times, but the feeling you'll have when you finish it will be just as emotional, if not more so, than what the ship's crew felt when they returned to Earth. Of all the Star Trek games that have been released, this one is undoubtedly among the best.

This is exactly the Star Trek I needed. Maybe that’s also part of it — I never watched the original Voyager, so all these weird adventures feel completely new to me.

It's definitely the best Star Trek game in recent times. The naysayers are wrong! It's a very entertaining indie game with a good story that faithfully follows the series I love and am a fan of. Many familiar characters and moments brought a smile to my face, and there were uplifting, exciting, and sad moments. The developer fixed all bugs and requests in a short time, and I personally didn't encounter any bugs. I can only recommend it to those who loved the series, they will adore it and it's a must-have, and those who are unfamiliar with it will be in for a fantastic journey. It's definitely worth the price because it can be replayed many times!

I watched Voyager second time just a few years ago and so many memories came up while playing this great game!

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown was a positive surprise for me. Few of the latest Star Trek games were great, but this one is very exciting to play, and it uses the sense of exploration to its benefit. It remains faithful to the source material, while also allowing you to nurture, level up characters and manage the ship to your liking. The gameplay doesn’t get stale, and exploring planets always feels very satisfying. It's also nice to see that the story has some great, unexpected twists and turns. Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown also encourages you to make different choices, and those will affect your gameplay. The combat is engaging, the ship management part of the game is rewarding, and you always feel that you’re progressing in some way. The developers are also committed to solving core issues like saving problems, so that’s a good sign. Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown is a hidden gem for sci-fi fans, and you will find yourself pouring a few dozen hours into this, as you explore planets, follow the story and embark on treacherous missions.

This is perhaps the Star Trek game most faithful to its source material, as just like Star Trek: Voyager, it’s a flawed gem that I can heartily recommend experiencing, just not without caveats. Both its greatest strength and biggest weakness is that it really feels like the kind of PC game that could’ve come out during the later years of the show’s run.

Overall, it’s a lot of fun for Star Trek fans or anyone looking for a sci-fi game with more intellectual depth than a straightforward space shooter.

The Star Trek drought is finally over: Across the Unknown is a great, if not perfect, strategy game.

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown is a text and story-heavy trek that follows the story of Voyager as it returns from the Delta Quadrant, but allowing you to change the events of the story in a game that has impactful choices wrapped around an FTL-style survival game and copious amounts of resource management. Not a masterpiece, the sum feels like more than the whole, though I will admit my view may be clouded as a fan of Star Trek, Voyager, and the genre.

Especially when compared to the 2nd latest Star Trek game Star Trek Infinite, which more or less was a half baked Stellaris mod, this is the BEST Star Trek game at the moment. Yes there are also a few flaws and maybe somethings you should change a bit, but I am certain that the team behind it will do their very best to change that (e.g. they said in the latest patch notes that they will work on a manual save game option because of so many people asking for it).

I’ve played enough Star Trek games to know better than to get my hopes up, but the gameplay previews for this one had me pretty excited. In short, expectations exceeded! It took a little bit for me to onboard to the gameplay mechanics but not as long as other resource management games. There’s complexity but not so much to cause frustration. I love the balance the developers found in the strategy and storytelling that made the Voyager TV series so lovable. I deducted a point because the game could use a bit more polish. I really appreciate getting some original voice actors involved but it literally sounds phoned in. There’s also been a handful of glitches with alerts missing text and easy-to-spot typos. All things considered, I’ve put about 15 hours into the game so far and see no signs of slowing down.
