The worst "not a Quake" game ever in terms of technical, content, concept and creativity.

A great pvp revival but needs more work to on the same glory level that Quake 3 ever was.

El Quake Champions es en realidad el Quake 3 mejorado, todo un cláisco que los niños rata no deben jugar y además, está muy poco valorado. Una obra maestra con toques estupendos de acción frenética, añadiendo habilidades especiales a los campeones y detalles que hacen que el juego merezca la pena.Debieron ponerlo gratis desde su comienzo, de ahí su fracaso. Me gustó más de lo que esperaba y eso que lo probé en la beta y no me agradó, pero ahora que llevo más de 10 horas jugadas, digo, es una obra **** le daría una oportunidad y más si vienes de los antiguos Quakes. Los jugadores clásicos como yo lo entenderán.

As a person who hasn't really played the old Quake games - I liked this. Too bad the player base is s low.

The worst quake hands down. Id Software turned the golden gameplay formula they had with Quake 3 and Quake Live into a microtransactions laden, hero shooter ( variable abilities and HP/Armor/speed stats/hitboxes) with a movement that feels like you play a tank, with subpar maps and a few classic ones that they butchered (prettier graphics but small geometric details on every wall/door etc hamper the flow often by stopping you mid movement/air, with ceilings that are too small, with too many open spots and holes that oversee the entire maps (destroys the tactical/strategic aspect of many maps), with worse icon and weapon design, with rockets that are faster or as fast as usual but feel too fast with the heavy slow movement and are hence harder to evade, the accessibility settings suffer because of the cosmetic nature of the game, the netcode is so **** that I still truly believe that it's the sole reason they slowed down the movement speed and soooo much more. They should have just released a state of the art graphical Quake with the same netcode/movement as loved by the fans with a fair playing field across the board with the same odds for everyone, with graphically improved classics and new maps, and free to play with the occasional cosmetics/texture packs/banners/avatar pictures, to truly elevate this into the mainstream Esport and BAM they would have been leagues more successful than this misery ****. I gave this game so many chances over so many years. Just sad.

long story short, it's Quake 3 arena infused with **** Overwatch plays a lot better than this unsorted mess that's note even using the in-house IDtech 6 game engine or whatever was used for Doom 2016/Eternal. So far since 2017 it's been a hit and miss with the community in general, some like it, others don't? it's been out of early access for awhile and there's hardly been any good updates done to it. also not to mention a very isolated community means matchmaking will be pretty bad as well for newcomers as skill differences with Quake pro's and newbies are massively distant should anyone else decides to join after dodging many issues with the game itself, you're been warned. just like with Diabotical Quake Champs has barely made a dent in the online multiplayer gaming space, So needless to say, arena shooters are pretty much done and over with, and there's plenty of other mainstream games to play instead at this point. R.I.P. for Quake i guess....

Questo non può essere un FPS Arena come i classici Quake e Doom o addirittura il primo Half-Life questo e uno schifo di gioco con le classi ma cos'è Call Of Duty o Battlefield eccetera. Armi sbilanciate e le classi sbilanciate alcuni diventano invisibili altri si parano con i scudi idea pessima di aver cambiato il genere classico arena. Unica cosa buona e la grafica e basta il gameplay e pessimo. Poi un altra cosa c'è neanche la campagna singleplayer non lo avete aggiunta almeno era più divertente giocarci come su QUAKE o QUAKE 2.

Despite the fact that my rating is 9, I will wildly criticize Bethesda for the fact that she does not fight cheaters in any way, of which there are a lot of people in the game! It was only through the efforts of sending angry letters to them wherever they could every day that they began to more or less ban outright aimbot and speedbot and out-of-hit-bots players. But still, their number ruins the game. In terms of graphics, mechanics and gameplay, in my opinion this is the best arena shooter. Minus point - for cheaters and not so rarely buggy sound

The best Quake ever created. The best Arena FPS ever created! The One and Only top notch skill based shooter. Total hardcore! Got Quake - you don't need another first-person multiplayer. Got Quake Champions - you don't need another Quake. This is it. Perfect balance, unique style, classic weapon solution, the highest level of competition, amazing show and skill, skill, skill !!! Gameplay: combat mechanics 10/10 combat logic 10/10 atmosphere 10/10 Story: Quake. Graphics 9/10 Sounds & music [sound drops due to lack of servers] 10/10 . The best of Quake 1 and Quake 3 Arena combined. Gameplay is well balanced now and match making is no problem for me in West Europe. It’s free to play so give it a try!

Quake 2 multiplayer is better. This is too fast, railgun is horrible and most sweaty game in existence.

The game is not so bad. However, it's disgraceful and utterly hypocritical that we won't see players from Russia and Belarus in Quake Pro League and other tournaments from now on. These players didn't choose to be born in respective countries and hence didn't deserve such a mockery for things they didn't commit. Collective responsibility at its finest... Damn, you can't even access the steam page from listed regions to write a review... thank you Bethesda, Microsoft.

Pretty good, just not what I wanted from a Quake title. If you truly want a real eSport, stick to Unreal Tournament.

On and off I have been playing Quake since the 90s. They have evolved a chunk. People complaining about the story should play other games. This game is all about skill, reflex and reaction time training. It's also about strategy if you wanna play duels. The graphics, characters and their unique skills are top notch. The audio content has improved dramatically. And you can make good friends there too.

Easily my favorite shooter of the decade, and I play a ton of shooters. After watching some Youtube tutorials to learn the movement system, the game becomes very rewarding. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stupid, the game had potential, but like with all games which has champions/heros you need to balance the game. What the pro players do is they have banning pick, but when u play tanked QC you don't get that. So you have ppl picking invis champions on large maps and then just hide. The game would been a lot better if there was 1 v 1 same champion, now it's just unbalanced and just a frustrating game.

I remember a time when I use enjoy playing Quake I loved the game's fast paced single player action. Quake 2 and 4 are my favorite in the series because of the story this game was telling and the level of action those games offered. I was hoping to see to more of that with a new Quake game instead I got something I was hopping it would never be and that's another crappy online multiplayer only game. I avoided Quake 3 Arena because of that direction it took and it looks like they have **** it up again with this one so I have zero intentions of playing this trash I hope they do another story driven Quake game in the future but it looks unlikely at the moment. because of this stupid multiplayer only trend. Zero of out 10

This is a great game. It's super fun to play, but it's a shame that it's barely playable because no one is playing it so the queue times are unfortunately too long.

The game is just a spagetti in codeing hitreg is horibble, optimalization is worst. The mm is waay longer then it should be. It is just a garbage

The game is ok as desig however there are various problems: characters are unbalanced with some OP compared to others.Often you select play with computer player and you are chucked into a game of players which you didnt sign up for. The player system is a mess, the game would put top players with absolute newbies which again is no no. very dissapointing...expected something else from this game but the games will not always move into a good direction.

Don´t bother with Quake Champions, it´s nothing like Quake III, if anything it´s just a shadow of it´s former self.

The best FPS game I've played in years, so much joy! If you like fast paced competitive shooters this is as hardcore as it gets. Even though it's easy to start playing, the skill ceiling is very high. Reaching milestones on your way to a virtuoso player (like landing rockets mid-air with trajectory predicting shots or hitting enemies with flickshots from railgun) is a very rewarding experience. This game looks and sounds amazing. The level design is fantastic, the artists created mesmerizing bizarre looking worlds with so much attention to detail. The character and weapons models are equally good. Weapons sound very satisfying, and so does the announcer's voice. The game is well optimized. On RTX 2070 on Ultra settings with 70% of 4K resolution (slightly higher than 1440p) I get around 90 to 120 FPS and have no problem maintaining 144 FPS on my other full hd monitor in all situations. Some people have been complaining about balance and technical issues. Many of those complaints were deserved and have been addressed since 2017 when the game was released. Some still don't like the idea of champions, but if champions were truly unbalanced, people would gravitate towards certain champions or use the single best champion, but that's not happening. Even active abilities of the champions can be disabled, if you don't like them. I find that some members of the community are overly and bitterly critical. Don't let that deter you from trying out this awesome game. It's free, beginner friendly and lots of fun.

quake 3 remastered with some addition of quake 1 2 weapons doom skins. game get best map and bots which longest yard. what is annoying unlcoking weapon skins. unlocking chars not take too long but weapons skins took. have classic doom guy which maded first time int 3d ı think. bcosue of still early acces and fast gameplay ultra and highg setting cause issies. also even have bots game not offline support. if they add some doom classic weapons and quake 2 like single stroy this makes game amazing.

Es handelt sich um meine erste Bewertung hier bei Metacritic. Warum mache ich mir die Mühe? Ich bin Mitte 30, habe vor Jahren mit einem Intel Pentium (150 MHZ) und einer Voodoo2-Grafikkarte ein Spielgenere für mich entdeckt: Shooter! Genauer Quake III. Damals ging es um FPS, weshalb Texturen zum geht nicht mehr runtergeschraubt wurden. Hauptsache 30 FPS mehr.

A good game with good optimization and a couple of nuances, thanks to which the scores were reduced. 1) Disbalans (1 Score); 2) Anti-cheat works bad (2 Score).

Excellent arena shooter, with the latest updates (Spring 2019) topped Quake 3 for me. The only drawback is that pricing is a bit steep, and there are still bugs to be found. Other than that, it's the best MP arena shooter out there.

Very good AFPS game, very entertaining, but also very demanding. Many are whining about the game but usually, they are whining because of losing... Like many other AFPS, IMHO the best mode is Duel, so I don't talk about other modes which I only consider them as duel-training. If you wanna win, you have to dedicate a lot of your time to master this game otherwise you will think all is random. NO, it is not random, try beating elite players while you are on gold/diamond and see how it goes. Or beat Rapha in a tournament. :)

As competitive as it gets, this game is a great sequel to quake 3 arena. Great visuals and nice addition of new mechanics on top of classic arena shooter. Must play for all the fps action fans.

Très frénétique, satisfaisant et juste. Quake Champions est un jeu gratuit qui ne plaira pas à tout le monde mais sur lequel les joueurs les plus hardcores et acharnés passeront du bon temps. Son principal défaut est son accueil rude, comme dans beaucoup de FPS exigeants aujourd'hui, le nouvel arrivant se fera littéralement défoncer dès les premières parties. IL faut comprendre les mécanismes, le système et fonctionnement d'arme, les maps, être rapide. Bref il faut avoir de l’expérience et jouer quelques temps avant de réellement **** direction artistique plaira à certains et sera détestée par d'autres. Perso j'ai aimé ce côté "à donf" dans la DA, musique métal, lieux remplis de sang ou créature dégelasses, instruments de tortures et sound design sanglant. Quake Champions se présente comme un Fee To Play honnête puisqu'il propose des achats intégrés facultatifs. Ce jeu est bien entendu un " Game as a service", c’est à dire un jeu que l'on fait paraitre comme un service: MAJ régulières, boutique renouvelée, C’est donner l’impression au joueur qu'il n'existe que ce jeu là sur lequel il passera le restant de ses jours. Chaque frague est un moment satisfaisant, Quake Champions permet de passer un bon moment sur un jeu de haute qualité, honnête, mais qui plaira surtout aux joueurs connaisseurs de la séries ou habitués de FPS.

An excellent, fast paced arena shooter with a fun cast of characters with unique abilities and perks. Pros: Tons of Unlockable cosmetic items/skins; Daily challenges; Great character design; Bots; Excellent map design. Cons: Multiple in game currencies; Loot boxes; Some skins don't suit all of the characters.

Fast, hardcore, skilled and fun game from Saber Int. and Bethesda. This game gets the old school arena fps experience and brings to us one of the best competitive fps game ever made. Netcode along with servers needs more development. New champion stuff is not balanced as it could be but Saber keeps working on find the perfect or best experience to hardcore fps fans.

If you enjoy Quake's fast-paced, brutal fun, then you will probably enjoy Quake Champions. Let's start off with the bad part. This game adopted the RNG loot-box method which is dissappointing, but the game gives you so many free loot-boxes that spending money on them is a waste. Another problem is that the game has premium currency but the loot-boxes can help you get items too. The game has these "Champions" that you can choose to battle but never fear! They don't ruin the gameplay and the special abilities the champions have are sort of a last ditch effort. This is a Quake game, So, the skill gap and learning curve is straight up BRUTAL. If you want to get good, you gotta spend a little while playing. Unfortunately if you are new, you won't go one game without getting wasted from all sides by some pros but I consider this a good thing. The game is very competitive as well as quite fun. Overall if you enjoy the classic FPS games, then you will enjoy this. I hope the game continues to improve in quality as updates continue to drop by.

Fast, fluid and very polished for an alpha (maybe beta) game. The base price of 30 bucks isn't bad and it unlocks all champions and future champions. The FTP model isn't a bad choice to enter the game (whenever those opportunities arise) as you get 2 champions to play with. but those 2 champions are very good. Visuals are slick and the frame rate is very high, 980 ti with a 1440p 144hz monitor and it averages 115-130fps maxed. it is clear the developers are trying to keep the spirit of quake alive and perform well on a multitude of machines. Very different from PUBG, fortnite and overwatch, if you are looking for something different from those 3 and want something fast with a pretty good community check it out. Wish it had more options for custom matches, but having bots now is a good way to hone your skills. the bots TDM list (players vs bots) are kind of meh at this point as each bot AI is random. One game you will have 3 nightmare level bots and 1 avg bot, or 4 stupid easy bots who kill themselves over and over again and cannot hit the broad side of a barn,

Quake Champions is the game that make you fell the classic and brutal experience that the multiplayer games from the 90s were. It's brutal, fast paced and hard to master, the game features some gorgeous level design that looks like if they were taken from Quake 3. The game features the "loot boxes" system which work like this; if you play the match well then you'll be rewarded with a loot box or you can buy them with coins from the game that can be acquired with real world dollars and those coins can help you to unlock more champions like B.J Blazkowics to play, you can still unlock them with other coins (which i forgot it's name) but you can acquire those by winning matches or had the best number of kills. The loot boxes contains what you expected, cosmetics like icons for your account, clothes or armor for your champions, camos for the weapons, etc, just like a Call of Duty game. The way that this game sells itself (for my point of view) it's stupid, if you buy the base game which price is about 37 dlls you can only access to 2 maps, so, you will be playing the same 2 maps over and over again unless you buy the starter pack (4.99 dlls) and you can't access custom games like to play with bots or with your mates in a LAN party (bullocks!) and there is one last pack to buy, the champions pack (another 37 dlls) that grant you total access to more maps, more play modes and coins to unlock champions, weapons, etc. Is the game bad? well... no, it is fun to play and it is the classics 90's multiplayer, but unless you buy all the previous packs you won't have the full experience or the real experience that you should get with the base game.
