A fresh gaming experience with slick Live play, and it even comes with a full color instruction booklet. Phantom Dust may well make you question why you spent 50 bucks on your last game.

The targeting system for Phantom dust is quite horrible.

Unlike anything I've ever played. Phantom Dust is and absolutely amazing real time card-action hybrid game. Great atmosphere and soundtrack accompany it.

AMAZING soundtrack: Classical music with a twist. Great multiplayer experience and great story. It's one downside: its VERY hard to play in multiplayer on split screen because every single player MUST have played on it's own at least half an hour on that very Xbox console in order to even have an arsenal to play with. But really it's the only downside to it. Other than that a fantastic game.

It scores big points by offering the most strategic Xbox Live experience available. Patient players willing to take the time to continually tweak and test their arsenals of skills will find themselves with a new favorite game to play online.

A nice, neon-enhanced glow sharpens the graphical package, and the colorful costumes of many of the game's characters alleviate the rather dull environmental visuals, above and below ground.

With gorgeous visuals, a lush and sometimes haunting soundtrack, and the ability to download new powers, Dust is a brilliant counterpoint to the shooter-heavy Xbox Live lineup. [March 2005, p.129]

The game definitely oozes cool and the special effects are top notch, and although the combat does become repetitive, the enormous amount of skills you can collect, missions to embark upon, four-player deathmatch via Xbox Live, and Phantom Dust's $19.99 price tag make it a must buy for those of you looking for a different kind of experience that's normally found on the PS2.

On the outside the game has everything going for it - beautifully stylised visuals, atmospheric sound and an interesting storyline - but on the inside it's riddled with bad design choices that could have easily been avoided with a bit of extra thought from the developer.

This was one of the last games that came out for the original Xbox, right before the 360. It was pretty overlooked for this reason, but nevertheless its a great game. I have never, ever, liked a card based videogame before in my life. Essentially, thats what Phantom Dust is, a really awesome card game. It sounds weird, but it's really good. Great story, nice art style, and just a really fun game. Get this!
