Minishoot' Adventures
90
Minishoot’ Adventures may just be a Zelda game with twin-stick combat, but that description sells it short. It’s obvious SoulGame Studio has put an enormous amount of care and consideration into every detail, from upgrade frequency and enemy placement to boss behavior and world design. It takes all the right lessons from Nintendo’s beloved franchise and puts them to good use in a new package. Sure, the enemies might be forgettable visually and some of the upgrade paths might be a little slow, but this is a minimalist action-adventure game very much by design. It’s how that unique mix of formulas is combined that keeps Minishoot’ Adventures fun all the way until the credits roll and beyond.
So let's not overcomplicate it. Minishoot' Adventures is an outwardly straightforward game, but its straightforwardness is deceptive. As I was playing, a stupid question formed: given its conceptual obviousness and simple pleasures, why aren't there more games as good as this? It's a stupid question because it has an obvious answer: because it's incredibly difficult to make a good game and because what seems straightforward in retrospect almost never is in creation. Maybe Minishoot' Adventures isn't a "great" game, but it sure is a great time, and that's plenty.

It's pure fun, and I honestly can't ask for anything more from a game.

Didn't have a lot of fun but something about finding where to go next & collecting the achievements made this game addictive to me, I ended up putting 20 hours into it to 100% it. Game is probably only supposed to be 16 hours, but I was stuck looking for hidden paths so many times & a couple of the races took me 40+ tries to finally beat.

I loved my time with this game. It’s fun and doesn’t overstay its welcome. No bloat, plenty of puzzles and things to shoot.

Remind me of old Legend of Zelda games and that difficulty is not very hard exactly what I'm looking for and beautiful graphics and music highly recommend this game

This game is fantastic. The controls are smooth as silk, the world is large and packed with things to discover. It's a game that really rewards exploration. You are constantly discovering new things, new areas, new bonus items. The combat is challenging without being unfair. Every area is different from the last, and there are more enemy types that I can count. I can't recommend this game highly enough. The most amazing part is that it's made by just 2 people!

Easily the best zelda inspired shooter ive ever played, feels great, amazing soundtrack, peak game design, the fact this game wasnt even nominated for game of the year is insulting

Minishoot’ Adventures also has a few difficulty options including the ability to auto-aim, have slower enemies and enemy bullets, with separate options for game speed, invincibility, and infinite energy if you’d like to have a completely relaxed experience. Barring some elements of the aesthetic that are quite forgettable, Minishoot’ Adventures is awesome from start to finish. If you enjoy twin-stick shooters and older top-down Zelda games, this one is worth your time right now.

Minishoot’ Adventures is great, plain and simple. It’s oozing charm from its art style and UI to gameplay and exploration. It’s a game you want to complete 100%, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

An excellent mix between an action-RPG and a shooter, wonderfully developed into one of this year's best indie games.

I’m going to be recommending Minishoot’ Adventures for some time and to pretty much anybody who will listen because it’s a game everybody can enjoy and honestly I may get another playthrough out of it myself in the near future; I’m already feeling the cravings. But I’m also positive that when the inevitable inspirations begin to follow, it will be one of those that end up taking on the mantle for the genre.

Taking inspiration from a little green elf, Minishoot’ Adventures combines bullet hells and exploration to create something truly unique. This title might not be the toughest or most compex title on the market, but the feedback loop between combat and exploration kept us captivated.

Outstanding game, truly. It looks like Legend of Zelda from SNES, and plays like the best twin-stick shooter / bullet hell. First game I've been motivated to 100% in 5+ years. The end game content is spectacular, as well as the "true ending." Took about ~8ish hours to 100%. For a game with minimal dialogue, that ending HIT.

So incredibly fun. Most I’ve enjoyed a game that isn’t a rogue like in a long time!
