Megabonk is a smash hit. It's raw, addictive, and dangerously easy to lose yourself in. A game that steals your time and does so with such obvious arrogance that you almost thank and bow for being devoured by its machinery.
Megabonk is a charming, wild, and exceptionally fun title, combining various roguelikes into a fresh experience packed with pop culture references and memes.
Megabonk takes the familiar bullet heaven formula and gives it a bold twist, adding vertical movement and a fresh 3D perspective. Its audiovisual presentation is stellar, and once it gets going, the gameplay can easily keep you hooked for hours. While the music does lose its charm over time, it still stands as one of the genre’s most impressive recent releases.
muy buen juego súper adictivo, para mí es muy divertido y poder armar distintas builds es lo que lo hace entretenido, variedad de items variedad de personajes
megabonk is what a game should be. its up there with my favorite game like cult of the lamb and both hollow knights. I highly recomend if you get dopamine rushes from flashing colours
A decent 3D vampire survivors clone - progress is slow for my liking in terms of upgrades and unlocks, the main currency does not build up quickly enough. Its enough mindless fun, though, the fact that it is 3D is literally the only difference between this and VS.
Though at first engaging and easy to pick up, megabonk fails to take advantage of the strengths of the roguelike genre. 1: Alot of the weapons and characters are a copy of other games, though this usually wouldn't be a issue due to the way that the ideas are adapted from the source material, megabonk is essentially a 3d vampire survivors (cross is banana, bone is just bone.. etc). 2: Even though megabonk has around a million possible build combinations, only about 7 of them are useable to win against the final boss. Im not saying you should be able to throw together random items and win, its harsh design to search endlessly for the perfect items, relying on luck to score certain items which may never even come if you die due to searching for too long (even with the banish and refresh mechanics). Bad balancing isn't too much of an issue with these games but when you can only win using a few strategies the whole point of the wide selection of tomes, weapons and items becomes useless, Its practically not even a roguelike in a way, your only searching for a "class" and throwing away useless items. 3: 3D But why? Taking the already successful survivor idea and adding a third dimension sounds like a good way to add some uniqueness and open the door to new mechanics. But what does megabonk do with the new dimension? Not much apparently, you are able to jump and there are hills you can go up and down on, but beyond that it feels like the third dimension had so much potential, yet it wasn't even used, megabonk could have easily been a 2D game with a jumping mechanic and nothing would change (this would turn it into vampire survivors with millennial humour though) because megabonk doesn't take advantage of the 3D aspect that separates it from the crowd of other survivor games. Sorry for the long sentences, im not good at concise writing. This is just my opinion aswell, i have not played the most recent update so i cannot say for certain if my point still remains.
