Lost Planet 3 has positive elements that a player can truly enjoy. The surprisingly deep storyline and character depth can make up for some of the flaws in the gameplay systems, but dull and repetitive battles make this title nothing more than average.

Spark Unlimited had the ambition to revive the Lost Planet franchise, but the execution is sorely lacking in multiple areas. [Issue#103, p.82]

There's already been a price drop of about $20 for Lost Planet 3, which makes it a pretty good deal. The timing for such a thing isn't great. There are a couple new consoles launching soon and the tidal wave of 4th Quarter games has only just started, I think Lost Planet 3's window of opportunity has closed for this somewhat enjoyable mid-tier game.

Pretty good, not as good as the other two lost planets but that seems to be the theme during this era of games. The first two are amazing/flawless and the 3rd one switches dev teams or loses focus a bit.

I liked Lost Planet 1, so I wanted to play Lost Planet 3 at some point. After so many years I finally played it. And it is an incredible game. It is very weird that it received so bad reviews. The graphics are very nice even today despite the fact that it is a game two generations old. The story is interesting, the atmosphere is amazing and the gameplay is great, from fighting small aliens to fighting very big ones. An amazing game!

Its fun for the most part your mech is a bit slow which can make it feel a bit tedious at times and I never really got good at the Mechs combat which was fine since you are usually only using the mech as a vehicle and the story while interesting was a bit lacking imo

Spark Unlimited's take on EDN III is engaging and fun. It's not going to turn the genre on its head or come away with any game of the year awards, but it is the best in the series and makes the franchise relevant again.

Lost Planet 3 is not Lost Planet anymore, nonetheless it's a competent third person shooter, with a solid script and a good number of different missions.

This is an awesome game. It is the best in the Lost Planet series. It is very well put together. It feels authentic, it is very easy to get lost in the game for hours until 3 in the morning. There are no annoying glitches that signifies a botched game. The aliens are great and you get the feeling of dread, not annoyance, whenever a huge one pops up. There is a reason it has stayed at $40 forever at GameStop. The only regret I have is not getting it sooner.

Lost Planet 3 is a mediocre shooter that confirms all doubts in recent months about the capabilities of Spark Unlimited.

This is one of those games that you might snag on sale and end up finding enjoyment in its merits. Just know that there are several problems that are impossible to overlook when you do. Still, fans of the Lost Planet series would do well to give it a go when it gets cheaper.

Spark has made its best game to date, but fails on so many levels the end result is still only a notch above a complete washout. Enemies are dull, weapons are lacklustre (the shotgun is one of the worst I've ever used and the melee attack is appalling), the mech isn't fun, and the multiplayer is blighted by similar issues that real-life foes can't fix.

It's worrying when the nicest thing you can say about a game is that the early sections manage to be boring in an interesting way, but it's true for Lost Planet 3. It's a game that manages to make third-person shooting feel like work - and one that makes work feel like something that more games should explore.

Wow I am surprised that this game received bad reviews... I never played any of the other lost planets but this one was pretty dang good. In the beginning the pacing is a bit off and the loading is annoying... But other than that this game thought outside the box. Story: Awesome - Voice Acting: Great - Game Play: Worth it. I hope these bad reviews don't stop lost planet 4 cause I sure would like to play it. Keep up the good work on this game.

I had not actually heard anything about the game so bought it off the cuff. I really liked it. nice story. lots of monsters to kill(without it becoming boring non stop carnage), missions to complete and interesting bosses. I had no expectations so couldn't be disappointed. I enjoyed my time on the game. but I like a bit of a story with my games.

My friend let me borrow this game for a bit... I'm never asking to borrow it again. It's just... It's not Lost Planet, it feels as if they ripped the soul out of the game just to appeal to the Call of Poopy generation.

I love lost planet. This game however isnt LP. LP2 had amazing story and gamplay with grappling to anything which past in storyplay and multiplayer also the multiplayer weekly combat was awesome. However in this game it feels barren as it has lost features and gameplay instead of gaining new ones. Yes the story is great however with every characters model suffering with "fat face" its hard to take it seriously. This game has taught me one thing, don't preorder a game just because the previous games where good and the company has a reputation for delivering.
SummaryLost Planet 3 is the third entry in the Lost Planet franchise. With numerous multiplayer modes and a cinematic single player experience, Lost Planet 3 delves deeper into the Lost Planet universe, uncovering hidden truths within the unique environment of E.D.N. III.
