I’m very happy that FTL’s developer returned with a new game, as I spent almost 30 hours with Into the Breach and I feel like it was just a moment. [05/2018, p.76]

Into the Breach is based on the brilliant minimalism of FTL and not only does it refine its mechanics to perfection but adds its own sophisticated turn-based system, a more balanced difficulty and an extreme addiction, where the RNG frustration recedes the joy of playing. And in addition you will enjoy a breathtaking music of Ben Punty. Subsects did it, they overcame themselves.

It surprised me in a very positive way, and it’s yet another proof that flashy graphics aren’t everything in a video game. It’s a strategy game that feels a lot like chess, but with additional mechanics that, while not complex, make matches deeper and more interesting. On top of that, it follows a roguelike premise: if you lose, you have to restart the campaign from the beginning (but don’t worry—you can finish it in just a few **** each match, you control three types of mechs, each with a specific purpose on the battlefield (the board). Every mech has a pilot who gains experience and abilities as the team succeeds in battles. If a mech is destroyed, you lose the pilot, and only the basic robot—without abilities—can be used in future runs (though you can obtain others). The focus of each match isn’t eliminating enemies, but protecting buildings, which effectively represent the player’s “health.” Even though it sounds simple, you really only get the hang of it after losing quite a **** forced campaign restart when you lose is actually a great idea, as it allows you to save at least one mech pilot and go back in time to try everything again. The game features a well-designed progressive difficulty system that gives you time to learn, but also includes randomness that can be frustrating at times. Enemy variety is interesting and genuinely impacts gameplay (damn spiders). There’s a lot of replay value, since you can finish the campaign at different points (the later you go, the harder it gets), and you can also unlock other mech squads with abilities very different from the starting ones.I really liked the fact that matches are short and that you can save at any time (not everyone has hours to spend gaming). Into the Breach is excellent—and it will hook you (in a good way).

Incredibly complex, deep and challenging, Into the Breach is a title that begs to be played and experienced by any individual even slightly into turn-based strategy. An instant classic that won't be easily forgotten.

Into the Breach is a prime example that shows no matter the budget, not matter the technology, no matter the graphics, you can always make a great game if you have that wonderful idea. Focusing solely on gameplay at the expense of everything else, Into the Breach is just one of the most entertaining games you’ve ever experienced.

Into the breach is a shiny little gem of an indie game, with an almost perfect gameplay, a huge level of customisation and an endless replayability. In just a few days it has become one of the most addictive gaming drugs ever.

The wide variety of mech and pilot abilities make Into The Breach’s tactical combat deep, satisfying, and replayable. Every turn creates a new complex puzzle, and though sometimes there’s no perfect solution, finding the best way to minimize damage creates frequent eureka moments as you learn to make the most of the abilities you’re given to work with. It’s a small-looking tactics game that’s kept me playing more intently than most big ones.

Into the Breach es a well-thought strategy game. Quick matches where every move and action counts. It seems a little less deep than FTL, but it causes the same amount of fun and addiction.

For the asking price ($14.99), Into the Breach is a pretty good buy if you're into strategy games. However, I don't think it'll convert anyone into falling in love with the genre. The gameplay is tight, but not sophisticated enough to warrant more than a few playthroughs. Once you've unlocked most or all of the squads and tried out the different mechs, it loses it's appeal and doesn't retain that "surviving against all odds" feel that FTL has.

In my view this is basically a perfect game. The concept is largely connected to chess (8x8 grid, pieces that have their movement patterns) with many key differences (environmental objects, weapons, each "player" moves all their pieces on their turn). In that regard it maintains the same beautiful minimalism of chess but upgrades its richness in numerous ways. It's tied together by the variety of squads and how they really synergize with each other, on top of the additional synergies you get with in-game pickups.

Yet another overhyped game. It is in essence puzzle game with some strategy elements. But it will definetly entertain you for several hours or so. And yes, it is very quality game.

Interesante propuesta tactica por turnos pero no me termino de atrapar por lo que lo deje a las horas de juego tras varias sesiones de juego

Plays less like a tactical game and more like a puzzle game. While such trait is not inherently bad, it creates a repetitive and unfair gameplay loop due to the randomness of the combat puzzles.

A decent strategy game completely ruined with non optional rogue-like mechanics. Most levels are more boring than challenging. If you do find yourself in an unwinnable situation, either due to a bad play, or more likely bad RNG, you're only move is to completely start over. Look elsewhere for a better game if you value your time.
SummaryControl powerful mechs from the future to defeat an alien threat. Each attempt to save the world presents a new randomly generated challenge in this turn-based strategy game.
